So.

Nakaba Suzuki just ended the story without giving us anything he Promised.

He told us about Kings and Dianes wedding but it didnt happen / he didnt show us.
He teased us with Lancelot and we didnt even saw him. But, It was nice to know that most of the sins got together again. Tristan seems like a good character! I wonder what will happen in the squeal will it elaborate on Tristan or is it a whole new series.

I'm really going to miss this manga, let's hope the squeal is good!

Tristan character design looks like shit, the mangaka tried to combine two hair styles, and this didn't look cool

Welp, it started great, it was fun, but closer to the end it just became "Can you finish it already?". Whole chaos fight was good for nothing and Arthur is nothing but a material for new manga that I doubt will be that great.

So, this manga also suffered from the "shonen mangaka disease", good introduction, interesting plot and characters, great development of the story, seems like it's going to be a great series, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone, the author overextended, ran out of ideas, was forced by the publisher to continue drawing and all that converged in a improper ending, happened to naruto and bleach, happened to this one as well, still, the final arc of NnT wasn't so terrible, not gonna lie I enjoyed some parts a lot, at least it wasn't like the cavalry arc of Prison School.

I still have some hope left though with the "four knights of the apocalypse" sequel, let's hope it does not turn into a fucking Boruto

To be fair, some children designs were less creative ( Goten, Boruto xD)

Not saying that the last chunk of this manga didn't had any good moments, but goddamn, it was painfully dragged and felt aimless.

Been a reader since the beginning and while it was never able to reach greatness it was still a nice option for shounen fans. Unfortunately I lost interest over the years, yet whenever an anime adaptation came around it was able to remind me of the fondness I had for this series. So that's why it's a shame that I have to complete it on such a sour note.

Still grateful for some cool characters such as Ban or Escanor and I had a big thing for Jericho. Had high hopes for Arthur too... well, I will definitely check out the sequel, because I always wanted to see him play a bigger role.

In that sense, bye and till Nakaba's next sorry effort.

Lame design for tristan. The ending is lame as well.

In the end, the holy knight Saga remains to be the best Saga in the series. Everything for the past 50-100 chapters has been shit.

Worst choice ever for Tristan's design, in this we can all agree. Now let's see what Nakaba will do in the sequel.

The ending is a good chapter if the middle of the story just didn't become bad.
Sinner did nothing it just seemed like their was no point of introducing him.
The Demon King was a boring villain and they had to fight him three times in the same exact way the fight felt tiresome.
We all know about the supreme diety I don't need to elaberate on it.
Mael felt pointless in the fact that he didn't do much.
Zeldris got thrown to the side in the final chapters we don't get much moments with him and Mel.
If Nakaba wanted to hype up arthur for the sequel series he should have used him in the holy war and not at the end. It made it seem like he forgot about him.
Elizabeths curse was set to activate after three days so the moment she regained her memories to when the demon king is defeated that took place over three days but if I'm wrong let me know I might have misunderstood it.
The holy war was boring and one of the worst wars I have seen it felt more like a squirmish then an actually war. It was a good chance to build more of the side characters and have do something. Showcase more of their abilities and give us fights that don't involve the sins.
Gil did nothing at the end.
The world building in the series felt sloppy.
The chaos arc with cath was bad and should have been the first arc in the arthur sequel.
The power system was one I never really understood and cared for (I think fairy tail had a better magic system, you can argue with if you think its the worst anime in your opinion but the magic system was more detailed in that then in this series).

The things I liked
Derriere and Jericho were some of my favorite characters I wish the latter had more to do.
The backstories for a lot of the sins were very good and emotional
The holy knights saga is till the best
The concept of the curse on Mel and Elizabeth was very good

In the end I felt seven deadly sins was a story that started off very good and just ended up being a very average story

Not surprised that Tristan looks the way he does, whenever shounen MCs have kids they're almost always carbon copies. I was hoping we would have at the very least seen King and Diane's kid, but I guess not. We didn't get to see their wedding either, nor did we get a look at Lancelot. With this being the final chapter I'm sure it wouldn't have been a big deal to add a couple more pages for that but it is what it is. I'm just glad there was no asspull to bring Escanor back, I was expecting something like that to happen by the end but thankfully it didn't. Don't cheapen the impact of his death by bringing him back.

Well, that's it. While this series, for me, never really achieved the status that some of its big name shounen predecessors reached, it was still solid for a while. This final battle though was just absolutely abysmal, and the decline in quality was impossible to ignore. I guess I'll still go ahead and check out the sequel manga though.

Gets an extremely generous 6/10 from me because half of the manga is decent..it's just the second half that is utter shit. I really just finished it so I can say I did...

I am not sure if I will be touching the sequel.. Tristan is just a mini Meliodas..at least Nakaba could have made a girl to spice things up.

Exactly what I thought, I was wondering what the chaos thing was about but considering it was probably just like a prequel to the new show it made more sense but idk how to feel about it, it just feels stretched.

So it's time to say goodbye.

Ill miss this show, first season was really dope after that it was pretty much just Escanor.

And i agree about Tristan's design it was a really lazy combination of meliodas and Elizabeth hair style,
cmon author surely you can do better than that.

Still appreciate the author and his wonderful work, really enjoyed reading/ watching!

While this manga was never a masterpiece and was always flawed, it had some really good parts and promising set up in the first two arcs. Then the third arc came and shit all over the fucking series like the author hired a random guy off the street to finish the manga for him.

There are way too many pointless characters that serve zero purposes and setup that goes completely nowhere like the entire character of Arthur. What was even the point of that whole shit in the end? To set up his shitty sequel? And did they ever even resolve that whole bullshit with Meliodas needing to return to hell or does the author just think we would forget about it if he pads the manga with 30 chapters of pointless fights? Or did Meliodas just energy blast his problems away like he did with the curses?

Honestly a really disappointing series and the sequel can go fuck itself.

He did well in the beginning of series but not with the end. This Tristan character leaves me no charms nor sight inside my head, clearly that because the lack of creativity and concept behind it. This end also make the chaos arc pointless and might be better to end this series with escanor death. Don't get me wrong, I do love this series but in the end it's made a big hole of disappointment, well now the series is ended so there's no point for me to criticize ot any longer, and of course the author himself wouldn't read this afterwards. But if in any chances he read this then "I do hope you keep drawing, your art are flawless it's surely not the best for action manga but you have characteristic inside it, it's shame for the series end this way but there are still many opportunities for it."

....that's it? Where the fuck was King and Diane's kid we were promised? Whatever, I'm just glad it's over. The first arc of this series was really fun. Everything from literally right after it though, starting from around where Gowther mindfucked Guila and Diane, ranged from mediocre to grueling to read with one exception: Escanor. He alone kept me reading to the end. So, naturally, he was the only one killed off. I'll be nice and give this a 6/10 for Escanor and that first arc, but there's no way in hell I'll be bothering with any sequel. Happy and relieved to be done with it. Feh.

Yet another disappointing chapter.

- The Supreme Deity is just out there, chilling with no enemy now
- King/Elaine's and Ban/Diane's child isn't shown at all, though I figure they'll appear in the sequel but I don't see why they wouldn't also be shown as kids here.
- We see nothing about what Merlin and Arthur are doing but who cares about this random plot point just suddenly thrown out there as the final arc!
- We don't get the wedding of Ban/Elaine or King/Diane
- Zeldris/Gelda just out there doing...something? Ruling the underworld? Eh who cares what one of the former major antagonist is now doing with his lover!
- Derieri was going to be reincarnated but better not show any of that
And I'm sure there are lots of other plot points I forgot about because the author just decided to add a crapload of new unresolved things in the Holy War arc.

Then there is everything beyond the 10 Commandment arc in general. It was decent up untill the end of that, but then it was just pointless moment after the other. Characters who finally start developing gets killed immediately, with only one death (Escanor) having any impact at all because the mangaka somehow managed to not fuck his character up. Random powerups left and right, a forgetable villain in the Demon King and Cait Sith and the introducion of Chaos all dragged the manga down by a ridiculous amount.

At least it's over now, maybe I'll check out the sequel just to see how much worse it could possibly get.

I have a feeling the ending wasn't very conclusive since there's a sequel manga in the works, so i'm not feeling too bitter about the things that were left out. I need to read this all again before i decide how i feel. Around the time it started getting a bit weaker also happened to be the time i switched to being a weekly reader. Marathoning will likely get rid of the issues i had with the final arc.

Regardless, i can safely say everything that is covered in the first 2 anime seasons is all great stuff. I remember reading that the author had all the arcs planned from the start, but i do wonder if a few things were added in the final arc considering how long it was. Also even though Tristan's design is very lazy, i can't help but love it. He's very cute, i thought he was a girl at first honestly.

This is so disappointing. If the manga had ended at that point where Meliodas had to go to the demon realm because he was the new demon king, and Elizabeth was going with him, I would have given this manga an 8/10. But then they had to rehash the same fight, but with Zeldris. It was fucking awful. Even more pathetic was how they handled Escanor. Can't believe he died over this shit. Feels more like he was killed because he couldn't be with Merlin at the end, while the rest survived precisely because they had "couple armor", because they have to be alive to be together. And then they extended it MORE with the stupid cat thing. This was awful. Even worse was not showing King's and Ban's kids, showing only the abomination that is Tristan. So it ended as an overall 4/10. The ending was just atrocious, and I hate it, because the beginning was really good, and Escanor is the best OP character ever.

Also, when is MAL updating Nanatsu status to finished? I've changed it on my list to completed, but it still shows "publishing" on it, which is really messing with my OCD.

Read this series from start to finish over the last two or three weeks. People really thought the Holy Knights arc was good? Maybe if you were a kid 8 years ago and have nostalgic fondness for it but it was mostly just a kind of vague and aimless start to the series. The Sins are so overpowered that there's 0 tension in anything they do and they all start off very cliche.

It's not fair to hold every shounen series up to the world building standards of Hunter x Hunter or One Piece but Seven Deadly Sins just picks up and drops threads left and right; lots of ass-pull nonsense; very little mystery about anything (I was very confused about the Estarossa/Mael 'reveal' because it was so obvious I didn't understand why any of the characters were reacting to it); very poorly developed/wasted characters like Gilthunder (and Gilfrost? who the hell was that guy?) Howzer, and Arthur being the literal king of pointless wasted writing.

I'm probably just getting too old to enjoy C-tier-writing-but-somehow-still-very-popular-but-totally-brainless shounen that stuff like this but I honestly don't understand how this was popular enough to go for nearly 350 chapters. If I had to wait weekly for a new chapter I definitely would've lost interest at the first hurdle.

So, I know this is coming from a shipper's perspective and is heavily focused on one aspect of the whole - but I really don't care, so here goes:

I have been promised that King x Diane wedding basically from their first encounter. It has been massively foreshadowed many - many! - times in every installment of this franchise. This has kept me going through the entire series. It was a central plot device with regard to these characters.

And now it isn't even worth a side note, not even a proper wrap up! I had been willing to let a lot slide. Yes, the final portion of this manga hasn't been great. But it still didn't disappoint me as much as it apparently did others. But this total disregard for my pairing is something that I cannot ignore. It is a massive disservice to the characters, the pairing, to their development, the writing and the reader. It would have been purely subjective, but this series would have gotten 1 additional rating point if the wrap up had at least done justice to these two, better all of the characters, their backstories and development.

Alas, it didn't.

I think, it was most disappointed by the Arthur + Merlin stuff at the end. I couldn't get anything else from it than "this is the setup for the sequel, I cannot get this over with fast enough". It just felt super uninspired and heartless. Also, one could hardly call this decent closure for the character that is Merlin and it only felt truly out of place from a story-telling perspective.
I cannot say that I didn't enjoy a great part of this manga, however, even despite many flaws in pacing and story-telling, because it started out really good, the premise was intriguing and I found the characterization to be original and "honest". So, this is not getting a really low rating from me, but it could have been so much better.

7/10. Honestly sad this did not at least end on a (short) high note. I was willing to let me be soothed.

Binging this manga wasn't so bad. It is only that the last arc got dragged on for too long with the DK and got rushed too much with Arthur. We didn't get to see any other kids except Tristan. I am still salty over Escanor's death. Yeah it might have been good conclusion for him but why he has to be the only important character that had to die? Even the likes of Hendrickson and Vivian escaped death!

But the manga stayed consistent with its characters and its action sequences were one of the best (and easy to follow) I have seen in any manga I have read. Overall 8/10 easily. Had it stayed good at the end, I would have given it 10/10.
