Oh shit. Nice. I wonder how they're gonna animate her wiggly arm moments, lmao.

Looking forward to who will be the seiyuus casted for the show!

Long story short, this is very, very similar to Takagi-san. However, the start of this series (i.e. most of what this anime is likely to cover) is incredibly mean-spirited compared to Takagi-san. Something to bear in mind for people put off by Takagi-san already or for people who enjoyed Takagi-san and are curious about the comparisons.

Considering my reaction to Takagi-san, I should thank you for warning me away from Nagataro. The latter has at least one point in it's favor, however, which is that the summary doesn't mince words about her behavior being bullying. I've gotten into arguments about that very point with respect to Takagi-san.

This has me curious actually, as I've personally never really seen Takagi's behaviour as being bullying (besides the fact that she refuses to stop on the infrequent occasions Nishikata asks), so I'd be interested in knowing what led you to that perspective.

Quoting from my review: "Is it teasing or bullying? My take on it is that teasing means keeping it within the bounds of the parties' sense of humor, limiting it to stuff they'd be able to laugh about after the fact. I don't see Takagi exercising any such restraint. She has little sense of when enough's enough. Furthermore, her actions have tangible consequences for Nishikata, such as getting extra cleaning duty as punishment, or failing a math test, and when things like that are the result, it's over the line from teasing into bullying."

I heard some positieve stuff about it. Haven't still picked it up as it's original source (was planning though), but I'll sure watch it when it comes out.

About time! I really hope that the anime does her justice! Not too much censorship and hopefully the same standard of art. Either way, I'm looking forward to this!!

It's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.

Haven't read the manga, but from what I've seen it has some really nice art. Hopefully the anime manages to live up to it.

Bit of an overreaction to call that out-right bullying imo, but you do you I guess.

I just realized I only read the illustrations and not the actual manga... looking forward to reading the real thing now before I watch the anime when it comes out.

From the description looks like I'm going to hate this but since I've heard that it's similar to Takagi-san still going to give it a shot. Takagi-san is more of playful teasing this sounds like straight up bullying.

If you do watch the fist episode and find it to be way too much, maybe give it another episode before you give up on it. For the first couple chapters in the manga she goes way harder than the rest. They may tone down those first couple chapters in the anime though.

The studio did a great job with Orange as an anime adaption, and the director was good with Mirai Nikki as far as I know, so I'm somewhat confident it'll be a good adaption.

I think from somewhere in the pitch of Shalltear from Overlord but cuter and some flair of Dekomori from Chuunibyou for the teasing nature in some form would the best interpretation of Nagatoro that Sumire Uesaka can voice.

.... Does anybody know if the mangaka will be involved somehow in the anime?

Oh yeah! An adaptation of one of my favorite manga's!? I say yes 1000 over. If you like Skilled Teaser Takagi then you'll love this and if you never read the manga...well get too it because it's actually great. I really hope they do a 26 episodes or so because 12 episodes isn't enough for me to watch this anime...

Honestly, my hopes aren't high from the promotional image. There's just so many ways they could do it wrong. But I'll watch it, of course!

People talking about the bullying in this manga aren't taking into account that while Nagatoro is unreasonably catty, Hachiouji is also unreasonably vulnerable. Neither of these characters would work off real people since you wouldn't have someone teasing a person like Hachiouji if he existed and you wouldn't have someone taking the bait from someone like Nagatoro so easily.

What I'm getting at is you need to take a step back and consider if Nagatoro is really that mega bad or if Hachiouji isn't just so unbelievably easy that he makes her seem bad.
