Oh boy, we got the election arc episodes. And not only that, the competition is tense with Miko involved.

As serious the episode is, I find it highly entertaining by Miko's reactions and the debates on stage. Miko's VA really sold her personality well if you ask me. Glad to see the Shirogane party come out victorious. Well played.

The election day for the student council has arrived, Miko has run out of ideas here. Actually their abilities are not much different but, because Miko is too nervous to make his speech less good. In addition, the speech delivered by Kaguya also made Miko's enthusiasm go down, as a result Miko was sad, no matter how hard you try you will not be able to defeat a talented person.

When it was Miko's turn to move forward, she was somehow nervous and made all the students laugh because Miko did not say anything. I really like Ishigami's statement "It's better to act than laugh" Ishigami seems annoyed with students because Miko actually has been struggling but was laughed at instead. Shirogane who heard that did something and just really, Shirogane went up to help Miko who was in trouble, Shirogane here is very cool.

After Shirogane went upstairs, Miko was now able to speak normally and their debates went on fiercely, the students who initially insulted now felt admiration for both of them. Even though they both lost the election they still fought hard and they deserved what they got.

Was the election arc this serious!? Felt like it took itself too seriously lol. Didn’t enjoy the 1st and 2nd part but had a blast with the 3rd part, Kaguya going on a rant was freakin glorious!

The directing is phenomenal in this episode, and I really love the use of OST too.

Shirogane is the MVP of this episode, and for some reason, I love the adaptation portrayal of Miko much more than the manga.

All in all, probably one of the best episodes of the season and series, quite possibly (so far). The student council is back together and they have an additional 5th member.

What an impressive debate between Shirogane and Miko. Shirogane is quickly climbing up there to be GOAT. What an absolute lad.

Impressive stuff with the OST and story. Really well paced as well.

Ishigami is the person who deserves happiness the most in this entire series. He’s consistently put other people first and done his best to help everyone. He saved the day the last two episodes.

Miko’s backstory is really sad, it must’ve been very difficult growing up alone like that and having to put on a front constantly. Even though she lost, she gained a lot of new friends and will be getting invaluable experience as a first year. She’s already one of my faves.

Liked the more serious tone of this episode and I expect we’ll have a lot more of that in the other arcs this season. I’ve already enjoyed this a lot more than the first season which I found overrated and boring at times. Can’t believe we’re already halfway through. Time flies

God damn that characterisation, I almost cried at some point.Every one of 6th episodes was as good or even better than previous one.Love is war is one of the really few anime that chose school setting and doesn't seem overused, cliche and boring at all and keep being enjoyable.Definetely the best anime of the year so far.

Wonderful episode.

Both Ishigami and Miyuki are great guys, Ishingami for feeling frustrated for Miko because of the people laughing at all her hardwork and Miyuki for helping her out despite her being their rival competition in the election.

It was very nice of Miyuki to offer Miko a position on the student council and the scene with Ishigami and Chika just hanging around wanting to hear they're still part of the council was amusing.

The final sequence with Kaguya ranting was definitely the most hilarious part of the episode and also turned out to be the sweetest scene of the entire episode at the end. <3

Another great episode. Certain things were better in the manga but overall the anime did election a lot better in my opinion. Miko back story was handled great and the direction for the entire episode was phenomenal. Overall this is my favourite episode so far.

It's Miko szn baby!!!!!! Woooo we got the big Miko episode!! Once I figured out this episode would contain these chapters I got so excited to see it animated! Did not disappoint. Culmination of the past few episodes with the student council election finally happening. Lots of emotions whirling around, bawled my eyes out a few times. Miko backstory crushed me, it's just so sad. Her drive to get people to follow the rules is because she didn't get to spend time with her parents since their jobs were basically to clean up after people broke the rules, putting it in simple terms at least. Which is so sweet that being why she wants to be student council President so much. Trying all throughout elementary and middle school but people only laughing at her. The scene when she loses horribly in first year of middle school and gets laughed at causing her to run off and cry where No one could see, oh man that was heartbreaking.

Got to see a really cool Ishigami moment with him talking to Miyuki about beating Miko. But in a way that she doesn't get laughed at. Her demands may seem harsh and I'm fact laughable but she's trying her best to make things better and you don't mock someone for doing that. Cool Ishigami is best Ishigami. She had some good points too about how the community doesn't want anything to do with them and sees the cool as just some rich kids and how they need to improve their image to regain publish support. Miko can bring a lot to the table so it makes me immensely happy that Miyuki extended that invitation to join the student council which she accepted.

Last little bit at the end show some more Miyuki x Kaguya content. Kinda made me tear up again when she thought he didn't think anything special of her which of course is not the case. Kaguya just feeling down with Miyuki so busy. It's actually really sweet too how much effort she put in to get him the votes, feeling a responsibility to do that since she asked him to run again. Demented means of doing it, but sweet intentions. Miyuki himself of course treating her special compared to everyone else.

Of the speeches while Osaragi had passion in hers she lacked hard data while Kaguya's had both. The PV as well sure proved to be an excellent blow as well. Still the insight into both Ishigami's reason for wanting to beat Miko as well as Miko's own life sure proved to be quite interesting. Being able to do her best both in class as well as enforcing the rules in school on top of her own loneliness at home really shows well the kind of determination that Miko has. While Shirogane's save served to save his opponent the fire that it created within Miko sure did well to create an excellent debate between them. Too bad about the outcome but its nice that Miko's bravery managed to change people's views on her. Hayasaka's skilful filtering of Kaguya's venting sure was amusing. Overall an excellent ep that combined both excellent tension via the election with character expansion via Miko's expansion. While she lost its nice that she was still invited to join the council. Looking forward to see how the new dynamic will affect the new council in the upcoming ep's.

Nice one for Shirogane. His moves reminds me of Hachiman, but in a good way. So sad to see Miko's past, on dreaming to be a student council president.

Anyways, Kaguya's speech was awesome.

OML, Miko is so adorable in this episode. She really deserves to be the president next year. Such an adorable character. And then we have our Kaguya. Always being so worried about everything related to Shirogane. And Shirogane is really nice too. The way he acted upon at that time on stage. Chika as usual cute. Ishigami the legend. Overall Great Episode.

Ugh, I knew that this episode would be an Iino lovefest (they had to adapt it), but I didn't know it would be this intense. Gonna have to endure this for the foreseeable future. They adapted it real well though, changing bits here and there.
I literally snorted my juice out of my nose in laughter when Chika shouted "I agree" in engrish after Ishigami had called them dysfunctional. Such classic comedic moment. And Hayasaka putting up with Kaguya's rantings never gets old.

What a strong episode, they really managed to balance the more serious tone and the comedy.

Miyuki's group was prepared to win at all costs, they planned everything beforehand. Kaguya's speech was just as perfect as her. Really nice to see that both Miyuki and Ishigami wanted fair fight against Miko, they didn't want others to mock her without listening.

Miko is such a nice and cute character, even though it was mentioned that she wasn't strong, her strongwill to keep moving forward because of her ideals after losing several times and possibly getting constantly humiliated. Really liked her character, her backstory is really sad and it explains why she's got such a serious personality.

At the end, we got to see that Kaguya was a feeling a bit down because she thought that Miyuki was nice to her because he's nice to everyone, such a silly and sweet girl, it was nice that she put so much effort to make Miyuki win.

A-1 is really doing this anime justice, everything looks beautiful, the direction is superb.

Hayasaka, the ninja. I laughed out loud when she pushed Kaguya away.

Kaguya's ranting was the best part of the episode.

And the election is over. I'm glad Miko joined the student council in the end.

Yep. I agree with you.

The OST didn't always fit exactly with the story they were trying to tell, and their handling of emotional moments would definitely not beat an actual dramatic anime, but for a comedy it handled it pretty well. I honestly think that this was better done than even fireworks (maybe), or at least on par with it. Obviously it wasn't perfect, but I think I'm very happy with the episode.

With pacing like this I couldn't give a damn about Miko's past, let alone feel for her. I was tapping my watch the whole time. There's one thing that struck me. Miko's lazy ass said to give her time to think so she wouldn't have to clean the chairs! Jokes aside, it was a really bad episode Definitely the weakest so far, first season included. It was hard to stand all this "visual filler" and comically serious music as well.

I've been missing something from this anime adaptation all the way from the first season but I was not sure what's missing until now.

That is, Aka's unique artstyle. In the manga, you could feel the slight horror tone in pretty much every chapter. But, when it comes to a serious arc like this, it's a lot more than it usually is. That is something the anime is missing for me. Like in the beginning of the episode, Ishigami suddenly talked about Iino. In the manga, it felt sudden and out of nowhere that it scared me as the reader a little. Also, the audience eyes in the manga was a lot more intimidating and Iino's expression was really sad to look at.

Don't get me wrong, the adaptation is doing amazing with the voice acting and its improvisation. And I know that creating a genuine horror atmosphere in an anime is really hard to do. The anime already tried its best. This is just something that only manga can do.

So yeah, it's a 4/5 episode for me

P.S. I'm not a native English speaker and I rarely wrote a long comment like this, so sorry if there's anything wrong with this

No it wasn't. The correct title should have been "Miko Iino can't be laughed at", which is chapter 67. Seems like they somehow joined names of chapter 67 and 68 and made this.

yeah I agree with you, many even say "Kaguya-sama is a horror manga." as a joke because Akasaka's dark artstyle, I like the anime but sometimes it feels too bright, when they adapt serious scenes like this, it will be difficult to compete with the art in the manga and sometimes feel off. It worries me how they will adapt
, because it's far more serious than this arc almost without comedy scene
