I have a question.

What the fuck Araragi did with his hands at the end of the movie? He grew up an inmense tree? What does that even mean or how did he do that?

The second movie was way better than the first one,but I think that both movies lack in terms of dialogue or monologues, I guess that is for adaptation issues. But so far it's been a long time since I enjoyed this series.

definetly the weakest one out of the three parts...

the two fights in part two were so anticlimactic when the three 'villains' were hyped up in part one.

it seems like this series is being rushed to me

It was gorgeous to look at, just like the first movie. And I like Hanekawa enough that just seeing her around for most of the movie kept me satisfied.

The two fights were a bit boring, though. I hope the third part is more interesting.

Rushed? Lol they are spreading out one novel over 3 hours. If anything it drags.

was more talking about the fights than the actual plot. the fights through out the series/part two seem rushed and anticlimactic also it was unrealistic to me for araragi to defeat them so quickly. hence the rushed

i've never read the novel nor plan to. it just seems like a shit adaptation to me

After all this time, i've realised that this is what I wanted + expected after my first time reading the plot for monogatari. The dialogue was really meaningful in this film; they did an amazing job of developing the relationship between Araragi and Hanekawa.

The animation of the fights alongside the rest of the film was amazing, only wish they could have been longer although I guess the fights weren't the main point of the film to begin with. The scene with Hanekawa's 2nd skirt unveiling killed me lmao.

Overall, it was my favourite film of the series.

isn't kizumonogatari a prequel to the series? therefore you start the series with the films first

You're supposed to watch Monogatari in broadcast order, which means these films come after Koyomimonogatari.

I'm actually surprised how strong Araragi suddenly is. He was able to defeat Dramaturgy and Episode pretty easy once he had figured them out... and i actually still don't get how he could defeat Dramaturgy with baseballs xD
Guillotinecutter was pretty disappointing and got completely wrecked by Araragi. But if Koyomi is actually this strong and able to defeat even specialists like that with ease, why does he have such a hard time in Bake and Nise against his opponents? I mean he gets beat up by a Kanbaru with one monster arm and by a Karen who simply practices martial arts? O_O
Also I have to mention once again how different Hanekawa's personality is in Kizu compared to the other shows. She's actually pretty lewd in this one, not sure what's up with that :o

In this, Araragi has his vampire powers at 100%, since he is a full vampire, unlike in the events who happens after Kizu, when he has just a tenth of the power he has here, that is why he has problems dealing with the likes of Kanbaru and Karen when in Kizu he could deal with the vampire hunters easily. You will eventually see why once you finish the third movie.

Also, he defeated Dramaturgy using iron balls (if you look well, you see that he starts shooting him baseball balls, but when he actually damages Dramaturgy, are iron balls), that, given the later's low regeneration skills, pretty much dealt with him quickly.

Ah I see, I have to finish Kizu first then. It just bothered me enough to ask this question now and not wait until I finished the series ^^

I noticed that the balls were complete black instead of baseballs, but I didn't know which material it was. First I thought it was maybe silver since that's supposed to be the weakness of vampires and werewolves. So basically the key to defeat Dramaturgy were ranged attacks? Since ironballs doesn't seem like something special really.

What Araragi did was basically boost the damage the ironballs caused using his vampire super-strength to cause heavy injuries of Dramaturgy. Take in mind that, being Araragi a vampire created by not only the most powerful vampire, but the strongest oddity of the whole series, both his strenght, speed and regeneration are far greater than the ones of the average vampire, so, an impact of an ironball throwed by him is much more painful than one that someone like Dramaturgy could throw.
Dramaturgy himself had his experience as an advantage, and, as you watched, he initially had the upper hand thanks to this, but Araragi had both his potential as a vampire (coming from the strongest character of the series) and the knowledge of the battlefield when they were fighting, so, even if Dramaturgy was a more experienced fighter, at the end, he couldn't do nothing against the potential of the servant of Kiss-Shot.

I see, but didn't Araragi hit Dramaturgy at the very beginning of their fight and it had no effect? I mean if he was so much stronger than him, there would have been no reason for him to run away anyway, right? Maybe I have to watch that fight again xD

Thanks for the clarifications :3

Goddamn. Goddamn. Goddamn. This is like a thousand times better than the first, but the first one is still great. Jesus.

Loved how Hanekawa knows that Araragi is not that kind of person who'll say that. I honestly loved her more throughout this movie and I sincerely wanted to ship Araragi with her because ohmygod Hanekawa, my best girl. ;-; You can see how hurt she was when Araragi said that, but glad she's so fucking intelligent that yeah she knows that's not really Araragi talking.

Now, let's talk about the first fight scene with Dramaturgy. I wasn't expecting that it will end like that, but Araragi learning how to play baseball made sense. Pfffft. He's so ridiculous. Jesus Christ. Apparently, Dramaturgy is a vampire who gets rid of vampires. The fact that he gave up because he realized how fucked he is with Araragi having Kiss-Shot's powers. Goddamn. Araragi throwing baseballs at him made him realize that. I'm dyiiing. Apparently, when it comes to other vampires who are not like Kiss-Shot and Araragi, they can't recover instantly which explains Araragi's arms growing instantly. Goddamn. And the whole fight was witnessed by Hanekawa. When Araragi asked her to show him her panties, she fucking obliged. I'm dyiing at Araragi's reaction. Hahaha.

THIS FUCKING FACE. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Y SO CUTE!?! WAAAH.

Hanekawa met Kiss-Shot and she brought Araragi his clothes (even his underwear) and goddamn Araragi that body then Hanekawa touching his body. Fuck fuck fuck! That scene was too much. Jesus Christ.

I honestly prefer this look of Araragi. I'm too weak. Hahaha! It's illegal to be this handsome, maaan. Who gave you the right? Lmfao.

Almost forgot about the lewd mag Araragi bought after having a boner when he saw Hanekawa's pantsu. Hahaha. At least, Hanekawa knows she turns Araragi on. Pfffft.

Second fight with Episode (Hello, Irino-kun!), I literally screamed when he threw his big-ass cross at Hanekawa. Godfuckingdamn. I almost cried because I just love Hanekawa so much. She came there to help Araragi and seeing her dead was just too much. Fucking Kamiyan did a great job throughout that scene until Oshino arrived to calm him down. Without Hanekawa, there's no way Araragi will win against Episode. Hanekawa was healed by Araragi after Oshino told him that he can cure someone. Idk how many times I replayed that scene. It was so great. When Araragi was trying to take back her intestines in her stomach, maaan.

This scene is so cute, alright. ;-;

Hanekawa is A-OK and omfg that scene in the grass while them two are chasing each other was so cute. ;-; I ship these two so much now. Waaah. B-but when Hanekawa gave Araragi her pantsu I freaking lost it. Hahahaha! I can't even. There's no way Araragi will give it back to you, Hanekawa. I wonder if he's still keeping it until Owari's time setting. Pffft. Tbh, I honestly felt Araragi's love for Hanekawa, and Hanekawa's love for Araragi throughout that scene, and it's making me melt. Waaaaah. ;-;

So, this movie ended with Guillotinecutter abducted Hanekawa while she's on her way home (though it wasn't shown, but I bet it happened after Hanekawa said goodbye to Araragi). And Oshino told that Araragi has no choice but to lose his humanity to defeat Guillotinecutter. Goddamn, what the fuck is that arm of his? Jesus. The animation throughout that fight is goddamn. Guillotinecutter didn't manage to move. Damn. Araragi, slaaay!

The whole movie is a masterpiece. I just wanna cry. I've watched a few anime before this which disappointed the fuck outta me, but this anime just goddamn saved anime for me. Lmao.

10/10 for this fucker! Ugh. <3

First movie was alright, this movie though....straight garbage. What is even the point of Hanekawa in this arc? Fan service. And she was the focal point for the bulk of this film. For the vamp arc, I was expecting more Shinobu and less feeling like I'm just rewatching Neko.

Absolutely fantastic!

I wish they did all of the monogatari series in the same animation quality as this, but i guess we can't get nice things all the time heheheh.

Shino- i mean, Kiss-shot fan service scenes were good, comedy hit the mark, and the storytelling was great.

Quality of the animation was absolutely out of the window with the absolutely amazing fights that were SO TENSE!

The fight with Episode was probably the most exciting fight out of the three films.
Araragi going BERSERK was so awesome!

Hanekawa and Araragi's relationship is great and I wish they would end up together, also I didin't know Hanekawa is such a perverted girl.

It was good to see that side of her personality. I'm definietly fan of her now!

this was way better than the first part.. this is more of what i had expected from the kizumonogatari movies. More intense action and drama..

Still not the biggest fan of this edgy art style. The zero shading works superb for fluid motion and thats totally fine, but all of the characters just look so much more edgy, i miss my normal hanekawa and araragi.

Glad they toned down the cgi a bit. I would still prefer a all out budget movie production with sexy background animation. We had a tiny bit of background animation but it wasn't that satisfying.

music was good, kiss-shot's teen form in that dress is absolutely gorgeous.

Would have been an 8/10 if the last fight wasn't so underwhelming. Also the scene between Araragi and Hanekawa on the wheat field or whatever was hella long.

The preview for the third part sounded intense, i have high expectations for the finally!

I was speechless after watching this movie. It really makes you wonder how the heck did Senjougahara won over Hanekawa? I mean sure in Bakemonogatari Senjougahara was superior and I really like her to be with Araragi but these recent prequels have made things hard. It's almost as if Hanekawa deserved to win more.

Much better than the first movie. Hanekawa's role in the movie is amazing.

Besides the wonderful animation, every fight make sense.

It seems that Araragi is very strong due to Kiss-Shot.

"You owe her your life. Learn some gratitude."

Why does Oshino say that when it was the other way around?
When did she save his life? When she dragged him to the cramschool to do who knows what with him?
Or the infinite burning loop, where he simply would have had to endure it until the sun went down?

And for whatever reason, he was fine with sacrificing himself dying. He even blamed himself for what happened to her.

I only watched Bakemonogatari so far, but I still can't comprehend why he goes out of his way to help others, even if it means to sacrifice himself.
Is this explained at some point in the whole series?

Looks I will have to read the LN after all to grasp Araragis thought process and reason.

"I dont want my soul to become tainted" - Sorry to say Araragi but future you disagrees :D
Whelp, there goes his entire arm
Damn, the whole action scene with Dramaturgy was epic!
Gotta love the 2001: Soace Odessey reference.
Lmao Shinobu eating her own leg with her heels still on.
I'm glad they explained the whole thing about why Shinobu's leg disnt disappear and why she couldnt regenerate etc.
And here we see Ararararagi's loli fetish start, Shinobu after wating her leg.
Lmao, the whole scene with Araragi changing clothes ... Hanekawa just watching and touching ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh god, that scene with Shinobu reaching into her brain ... O_O
The scene with Hanekawa was frightening ... absolutely brutal.
Nice seeing him get back to her and heal her.
Shinobu's transformations ... DAMN!
Araragi's reaction to Hanekawa giving her panties to him was the same I had lol

Damn even better than the previous movie, the fights were awesome, the dialogue was great and just all around great movie.

I must say Araragi was pretty dumb to not notice that Tsubasa likes him.

Even here Tsubasa already failed at her virtuous act.

Dat Episode Laughing scene. If it doesn't scare you it sure will make you laugh.

Tsubasa should have been dead when her stomach is severed by the cross and her intestines coming out from her.

So it's easier for Tsubasa to give her panties than let Araragi grope her? lol.

So the fight with Gulliotine Cutter just ended like that? Pretty dissapointing. While Dramaturgy and Episode put up a better fight than him. I know, Araragi powered up and all but GC could at least dodge some of the attack. And he should have killed Tsubasa if Araragi decide to attack him.

I still don't get why Araragi see Tsubasa as his savior. Well, if you're talking about his sexual frustation then, yes.

By the sound of the preview, I guess Araragi will fight KSAOHUB next.

Why are these movies getting so good... This 60-minute movie felt like it lasted maybe ten, fifteen minutes. It was fantastic. The animation quality was absolutely god tier, as was the soundtrack, direction, and pacing. The characters felt just as alive as they always do, and I was either laughing my ass off or on the edge of my seat the entire movie. Fucking amazing. I love how I thought I knew exactly how this movie was going to go from the last movie's preview, yet it still constantly surprised me, especially with Oshino telling Araragi to give up on being a human. The preview makes the next movie look like a blast, so I'm pretty pumped. Also "Araragi, please massage my braless breasts." I need context for this.

Great movie. Way better than the first. The CGI is toned down to a manageable level, the fights were impressive and the witty dialogue is back. Araragi’s relationship with Hanekawa deepens and her infatuation for him is obvious (only to be crushed in Bake and Neko Shiro, though. But it’s fine)

Also, did you notice that Araragi doesn’t have a reflection?

Man Araragi just gets better with each new release of the monogatari series, he truly is one of my favorite anime characters of all time
“I love heroes, but I don't want to be one. Do you even know what a hero is!? For example, you have some meat. Pirates will feast on the meat, but the hero will distribute it among the people! I want to eat the meat!” - Monkey D. Luffy

I still can't fucking believe Araragi chose Senjougahara over Hanekawa.
They both have the greatest chemistry I've seen in most couples in anime.
Hanekawa is so damn perfect.
While Senjougahara has so many defects.

In this movie, Araragi said something like Hanekawa being so perfect scared him and made him uncomfortable.
Your damn loss Araragi.

I'm starting to worry that liking Hanekawa is a prerequisite for liking the rest of the Monogatari series ....

I mean, I don't even dislike her, but she's the least interesting girl in Bake and is used pretty horribly here.

This movie was more amazing, in my opinion, than the prequel. As we know it's the continuation of the previous story, but the visualization, art, OSTs. The 2nd pantsu show was funny, because they used 2001: A Space of Odyssey as a reference. Just how the earth and solar system was created, aka. life, this is may have been symbolism for how the appearance of pantsu gave life to Araragi . The use of gore scenes was really brutal. Damn, long time I have seen an anime where everything spills out after being cut in the abdomen . Even seeing the intestine flowing out of her body. No wonder, I found the visualization amazing. This is definitely not an anime for kids or anyone under the age of 15.

Amazing transformations Shinbou Oshino had. From loli to teen to a young adult. Her body became just more and more sexy. She need another limb to turn into the hot MILF we saw in the beginning of her entrance. Poor Araragi, seems like he understood that he had to give up on his humanity. Next movie, Araragi vs. Oshino. Looks like it's gonna be the fight we saw in the beginning of Bakemonogatari. Can't wait! xD

was more talking about the fights than the actual plot. the fights through out the series/part two seem rushed and anticlimactic also it was unrealistic to me for araragi to defeat them so quickly. hence the rushed

i've never read the novel nor plan to. it just seems like a shit adaptation to me

You both should try actually watching the series in the correct order.

I watch it in the recommended order (see my signature link) and I got to say it's quite enjoyable. Since I am newbie to this series, I think I did the correct decision to watch it between Bake and Nise. :)

I didn't notice, but thanks I guess. If I am not wrong vampires doesn't have a shadow/reflection, so that may be why.
