| I'm a bit confused why there aren't like "themed rounds' for this, since music taste is so broad. Like either base it on genre for each round or decade, or something. Comparing rock to rap is kinda hard. |

| @codephat I don't see why comparing two songs from different genres is any harder than comparing two songs from the same genre. It's all subjective either way, and we're not asking for any sort of rationale. Really there is no such thing as "best tastes," of course. It's all just for fun. The bigger concern for me with doing themes would be that if the theme was just "Rock" or "Rap" it wouldn't really narrow it down very much. Like the Rock round could include everything from Honky-Tonk to Nu-Metal, both of which fall under that umbrella term. We would need really specific round themes, and that would inevitably leave people out. I could do a round devoted entirely to Post-Punk Revival, but a lot of people would have no idea what that was and no interest in that sort of music. Maybe in a future iteration, there will be themes. But for now it doesn't seem necessary or practical to me. |

| @rp59 It's all for fun but having participants explore multiple genres/tones would be fun as well, I'd imagine. It wouldn't have to be genre based at all. Themes would be better, like everyone selecting love songs, happy-sad songs, etc. If you did genre you'd have to have some form of double elimination, obviously, but genre isn't the best way. It'd be a whole lot better than having no attempt to correlate the contestants, though. It's more of just a suggestion for later "iterations" considering this one already started, but there are more entertaining ways to do this. |

| Just in case anyone is curious, this will be the layout used for the songs. And then to vote, you will give the number of the matchup you're voting on and the name of the person you're voting for, like so: "1) 95PR 2) 9RP5" I would like everybody to vote for all 8 matchups in a single post. I guess it would help it to get faster if everybody kept adding to a tally of how many votes there had been like "1) 95PR - 6" but that would make cheating really easy so it's not a viable option. |

Wouldn't it be obvious to anyone looking at the bracket who is participating in which match-up? Plus, voting would be harder if it was anonymous. But mainly I'm afraid I would lose track of which song belonged to whom. Everything about this competition was set up based on the way it was done last time, because it seemed like it went well and I am just hosting @King_O_Cum 's game, so I don't want to make many significant alterations. I said in the rules that people are to vote based on which song is better, so I would consider voting based on nepotism to be outside the rules. That would carry repercussions for cheating. I can mention that in the OP on the voting thread. |

| @Mystical If you're defining Round the way I am (based on the bracket), it lasts 4 days. Because Round One is made up of 4 sets of 8 match-ups and each set lasts 24 hours. Take a look at the bracket for reference. 1-8 are on Day One, 9-16 on Day Two, etc. |
