| There's no definitive answer to that, and I'm always surprised when people ask questions like "Why do you like X genre" or "What is the genre you can't stand?". With that in mind, I can't give a general answer, but I can tell what I don't enjoy in ecchi. I CAN'T stand when a show relies solely on ecchi to keep the viewer interested. I guess DxD's boobs are supposed to distract the viewer from the mediocre plot, characters, lack of theme/purpose and prudishness, but I'm not a horny teen anymore. |

| Because American media companies & general public are such prudes. It doesn't take long to go through the handful of movies or tv shows that contain liberal amounts of nudity like ecchi anime has. Plus, it's few and far between for the number of actresses that have a somewhat-close figure to ecchi anime girls AND will do nude scenes. Typically the ones that do, are cosmetically enhanced, and they only have porn-level acting skills. So yeah, I'll take ecchi anime for 1000, Alex. |
