depends on the severity. i have enough patience to deal with people who have autism, but i don't think i could maintain a healthy relationship with an autistic person, unfortunately.

I want to say yes but honestly I don't think it would work since I have a few diagnoses to struggle with myself. I feel like would either kill each other or ourselfs beause it would be dysfunctional as fuck.

The politically correct term would be a person with autism, not an autistic person. You have to put the person beforehand (according to my governments education program.)

I wouldn't, and that's not saying that I have them. I just have a preference against dating them.

No. I bet the people saying "yes" haven't intimately know autistic people, anyways.

In some people it's not noticeable at all and in others it's full on Chris-chan. You can't really generalise.

Plus, not everyone with autism is diagnosed so unless they are and they tell you, you probably won't even know in the more neurotypical-passing folks.

No, I'm saying that autistic people a lot of times have triggers where if something happens to them they will lose their shit, and I really don't like hanging around friends who I have to constantly watch what I say around.

Some people think that being autistic automatically means you are a retarded / slow-minded...

Depending on the severity. My brother's girlfriend has aspergers (which is a form of autism that impairs you socially) and they're both very happy. She can be a bit awkward and quiet around people, sure. But it's manageable through medicine and when she's with him she is perfectly talkative and happy.

Actually among the autistic community, people tend to use the term 'autistic person'. I think there's a gap between the administration and actual autistic people.

Honestly the best relationship I've ever had was w other autistic people. I'm autistic myself, as well. I'm really happy with my relationship.

Would you believe me if I told you that you're not autistic and you are just a normal person with your own personality? Psychiatrists like to stamp people with problems instead of studying a person for what she is and what, during her life, turned her into what she is. Like, you know, if a parent goes with a child that is agitated to talk with a psychiatrist, the psychiatrist will diagnose the kid with hyperactivity, even though the kid is actually normal. Have you tried to talk with a psychologist? A psychologist would judge you for what you are instead of stamping you as a person with disability.
I think it's a crime what psychiatrists do, especially with kids, since they know very little of the world and will end up blindly believing in what the psychiatrists are saying, and the parents will end up treating their child as if they had disability, and the result is that they will grow up ruined with a sense of inferiority in most cases not even being able to look in the eyes of other people, since they were raised like people with disability.

OT: No OP. I would never be able to date people with autism because they don't even exist.

@pkKodama

I was diagnosed as an adult, and it made a lot of my childhood make sense. Autistic people do have challenges they face, and to pretend they don't exist at all is... some lost point I can't even comprehend. It does nothing for anyone, it is the definition of misguided stagnation. I'm not in the mood to try to wax philosophical with you about this, fuck you.
