| So it's a well-known fact that Japan is a fairly lenient country in terms of what violent/risque content they'll put on public television, but some things still manage to surprise me. Even though it was only on the OST my jaw dropped the first time I heard the track on Gurren Lagann's OST which spells out 'he loves my asshole', considering it was aired at a children's timeslot. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was violent enough to get a TV-MA on Adult Swim here...really surprised that got played at 5pm with no complaints. |

I mean they would've gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those meddling kids! kamisama751 said: The lyrics of the second opening of death note is just... strange. I mean, it's Maximum the Hormone, it's a pretty well-known band + I don't think Japan really has censorship concerning songs. At least as far as I know. And all the online lyrics say this: HEY HEY! Ningen sanka HEY HEY! Ningen fuan kan HEY HEY! Ningen sanka onorera eien ningen fuan kan I don't see what's wrong with this.... god, I really hate romaji lyrics also everything past the as far as i know is irony. in case you misunderstand |

| The fact that Jojo, a manga created in 19 fucking 87 did not get an anime until 2012. That one Stardust Crusaders OVA doesn't count. Don't see how anybody let one of Shonen Jump's biggest manga to be animated-less for how many years. A tragedy really. Would have loved to see Jojo animated in that delicious 80s and 90s style. |

| Gundam IBO airing at 5 PM with only one complaint from the BPO for the first season and none for the second season, that would never happen here. Victory Gundam anime being marketed to kids is another one, neither installment is for kids, they're some of the most bloodiest Gundam installments of all. Loli anime with the Olympics approaching, I'd thought they were gone for good but nope, some God is blessing us by either preventing the bad outcome from happening or slowing the process down (most likely the former as doujinshi has been saved twice, once from TPP and second from the Olympics). |

| Lots of things, but seeing ^^^^^ user brings to mind, 1) The fact that they managed to slip in a less-than-overt JSDF recruitment ad into an entire anime, target audience being otaku. I don't really believe that the GATE anime has any substance beyond this centralized purpose. 2) Also the fact that there is much basis for Japan's fear of the United States as the global, military superpower, which translates to it being some sort of consistently antagonistic force when anime tries to handle globalized issues. Then, there's also the fact that many americans unerringly fail to recognize the connection. |

| all the incest and pedophilie references, I think... I mean, almost every anime that have a brother and sister, they put a little hint of incest or at least some inappropriate feelings of one part... and, is so common to put some loli in ecchi scenes, with a lame excuse, like "she looks like a 10 years girl, but actually is supernatural being of hundreds years" ... some writters are even more lazy and just say "she is actually 20 years old... just accept" |

| If we are surprised at some things anime can get away with, just think of regular non-anime watching people... or those that only watch like 3-4 mainstream shounen anime. They must think this medium is fucked. I'm so bloody desensitised to fanservice by this point, I don't even notice low key fanservice anymore. Also, how the fuck is Aki Sora OVAs labelled an ecchi?? How? I mean I would have been spared from that torture if it was tagged a hentai |

It was an interesting watch, albeit disturbing. Also isn't there some scientific explanation about how being separated by birth means they don't pick up each others hormones and recognise each other as siblings or something? |

| I'm actually kinda surprised at what they can't show on TV now. Back in the day there was more perversion and nudity allowed than there is now. For example, Miss Machiko was made in the early 80's and is about a teacher who keeps getting sexually harassed/assaulted by her young students and coworkers. They flip her skirt, peek on her in the shower, grab her boobs, etc. But in terms of what's allowed on TV now, I'm not sure how Lance N' Masques ever got shown. That is the most cringe worthy show I have ever seen. A muscular shotacon, a harem made up of girls who couldn't be no older than 10 (with one who is like 5), and the many awkward bath/hot springs scenes are just some of the things that come to mind. |
