Hello everyone, I need a few quick recommendations. The first one can be anything (recommendation by other participant slot) and for the second one, I'd need a show you watched specifically for this challenge. Also I'd be thankful for a show about non-romantic relationships. Thanks! I can give recommendations on my part as well if needed. |

Sidonia no Kishi 24 episodes (2 seasons) - It's one of the best space anime I've seen, the battles are a joy to behold and the story is actually really good, didnt get bored. Texhnolyze 22 episodes (1 season) It starts of pretty slow and it can get hard to get into but the story is fantastic and really dark. Bungaku Shoujo 1 Hour and 40 Min (film) One of the first anime (films) I've seen and I fell in love with it, it's basically about a girl who eats books but don't let that fool you, story get's pretty dark. Himitsu the Revelation 26 episodes (1 season) A detective group that is able to find out about certain events (murder cases) by displaying their memories. As for the question about on hold / dropped anime, I wouldn't know either, I don't drop anime and the anime that are "on hold" are anime I can't find anywhere and am unable to watch. |

calvin2601 said: Hey I'm hoping to get a recommendation from a fellow participant. I'm looking for a series that has a contemporary city/town/institution (etc) setting with a supernatural/scifi twist, where the general public are unaware of this 'twist'. Examples of this (that I enjoyed are): Ao no Exorcist Devil is a Part-timer Amagi Brilliant Park Assassination Classroom Noragami Fukigen na Mononokean I know that the Magical Girl trope would fit nicely with these requirements but I've watched Cardcaptor Sakura, its two movies and Madoka series for this challenge so I might be 'burnt out' on this trope for now. I would also prefer not to have sequels and movies etc to any stuff that I've watched before. You are also welcome to look at my list and recommend me something that doesn't fit the requirements above but no traditional Magical Girl stuff !!! List: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/calvin2601?status=7 Thanks in advance :-) If you still need recommendations for this, how about Uchouten Kazoku (The Eccentric Family)? I put it on my own ptw list since it reminded me of the awesome movie Pom Poko, as well as Natsume Yuujinchou. https://myanimelist.net/anime/17909/Uchouten_Kazoku?q=essentric%20fam Natsume Yuujinchou I'd highly recommend, it's a personal favorite. It has a modern day, rural setting and the protagonist is one of very few people around him who can see yokai. In a sense it's similar to Fukigen na Mononokean. https://myanimelist.net/anime/4081/Natsume_Yuujinchou Mushishi is a given if you like that kind of yokai setting where only a few people can see the real cause behind a phenomenon. Only it's more episodic, strange and solemn. It's beautiful. https://myanimelist.net/anime/457/Mushishi The last one I can think of is Level E! It's not very well known, but a comedy/sci-fi gem. It's really wacky and crazy. The manga it's based on is actually written by Yoshihiro Togashi, best known for hunter x hunter, although Level E is quite different. The plot centers around Prince Baka, an alien who crash landed on earth where hundreds of other alien species live while the humans have no clue of their presence. I see this one is already on your ptw list! https://myanimelist.net/anime/9834/Level_E?q=level%20e Hope it helps. :) |

Hi, can someone please recommend me a good series? :) Preferably 1-2 cour long. It can be on my ptw list, but doesn't have to be. I love supernatural, sci-fi, adventure and fantasy. I enjoy everything from iyashikei and slice of life to action-packed shounen shows. I usually find well thought out stories (that don't defy their own logic, no matter how crazy the setting) with at least some character development to be the most rewarding. Not a big fan of: fan service, scary stuff, gore just for the sake of gore, cliché character traits, useless MCs, way too perfect love interests. I'm open to any kind of suggestion as long as it's not horror or ecchi. Thanks! |

Glad to see it's up so soon this year. It's already looking refreshing and I like how some of the challenges are ones from last year with a new spin. Particularly got a kick out of the "watch something that's been on PTW for too long", yowza some of them have been there for years. I'll go ahead and just leave Aoi Hana here for anyone who needs a shoujo ai series. It's not fetishized and doesn't go use yuri as fanservice, so I'd say it's perfect for anyone who's reluctant about stepping out into that territory. |

Can anyone recommend me an anime about a couple who are romantically involved with one another? I am very uninformed on this genre and usually tend to avoid it as well. Preferably a movie or something very short (less than ten episodes), as I generally do not enjoy the genre all that much. No ecchi or anything else that implies on sexual content, please. |

Looked it up but there's no confirmation whether he's Japanese or not. It does play in Japan and certain events are with him residing in Japan. On the other hand there's no Japanese dub so it's kinda weird to think he is actually Japanese. Short answer: I think he is in fact Japanese. |

If anything, this is up to interpretion. If you think a relationship can only be romantic if the two characters kiss and have sex, then ok. However, I don't think that is the case. The whole movie is incredibly romantic so I don't really know what you are asking for. |
