| Well if I had to choose between the two I guess Persona 5. It's been 10 years since we had a good Final Fantasy, and the new one doesn't look like it will be worth the wait. |
 Seriously, they both look great but if I have to choose, my vote goes to FFXV without any hesitation. Been waiting for it for 10 years now |

| Persona 5 just slightly more. I just feel like XV is gonna be lacking in a lot of traditional FF elements. I'll be getting both though. |

| From what I've seen Persona 5 has the same gameplay as 3 and 4 except with some new features probably, while Final Fantasy XV is a visual kei band walking around and mashing one button to do flashy moves (with brain dead AI). Based on gameplay footage alone, Persona 5 seems to be the winner here, even though I'm not even a Persona fan. |

Lightning returns was actually more challenging than its sequels, at least if you did the side quests, you've probably played it in easy mode. But obsiously persona 5 will be less challenging than FFXV. One is a turn based RPG and the other is action based. |

| I've never played a Persona game and I'm super hyped about P5 since the first gameplay trailer I watched and everything that has been shown just makes it better. Really really eager to play it. As for FFXV, well, it's been 84 years.... |

| Persona 5 is taking an established formula and simply improving on it. I know it's going to be a good experience. FFXV is changing the formula up and is going to either be a complete shit show or GOTY material. It all depends on FFXV. |

| As much as Persona 5 has strayed from its roots and embraces it's "OMG WE SO ANIME" of P4 nonsense(and the art is full of stylized nonsense that lacks the neo-gothic vibe of P2 and P3), it is still a better game than a generic desaturated sausage fest of FF15 |

| Let's see a game with a rather run of the mill art style about 4 guys that all look like they fell through a Hot Topic discount rack when trying to decide what style their boy band should go for, traveling through what looks to be a drought stricken California, or a game with a highly fluid and original art style that's about Harry Potter and a cat that can summon Zorro trying to steal shit. I think you all know my answer. |
Not him, but both Persona 1 and 2 have aged like milk in terms of gameplay (P2 has a great story and cast of characters though) and P4 had some of the worst writing I've seen in a JRPG, since they obviously were making stuff up as they went along. The only game in the series I will consider to be good is Persona 3, but really, almost 300 floors of Tartarus makes a replay of that game absolutely unbearable. Final Fantasy X alone beats the entire Persona franchise. If we are talking about SMT as a whole, though, I would probably give my vote to the later. And while Persona 5 does look better than FFXV, the combat seems more of the same, so the writing is gonna be deal breaker to me. |

| Was never a fan of the Persona games, always felt like too much of a grind and the dialogue choices barely have more depth than the ones in some of those cheap flash dating sims from more than a decade ago. P5's presentation oozes style though, I'll give it that much. Fai said: Gotta agree with you on that one. | Final Fantasy has become such an overblown, bombastic, melodramatic mess of a series that I am not sure why anyone over the age of 15 is still interested in it. Persona at least knows how to have some fun with itself, and the calendar/dating sim mechanics are genuinely novel and interesting. That said, my excitement level for Persona 5 is not extremely high either. There are other games, like Yakuza 6, Danganronpa V3, Baldr Heart, the new Idolmaster and Reco Love that I'm more interested in playing this year. I also need to get around to the Vita remakes of the Soro no Kiseki trilogy. |

The Last Guardian is a spiritual successor to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus though, two of the most critically acclaimed games on the PS2, so I would say they are in a fairly similar situation |
