Getting tired on "showing the sky" scenes on anime

I noticed that many anime shows, especially on anime opening and ending themes, show a sky scene or sky footage or whatever we call it. What I mean in the sky scene is that the "camera" is directed to the sky where minimal or no ground will be captured. It is so common that I believe it's more common than many anime cliches. Are there really some symbolisms on it or it's just a lazy attempt to show anime titles (in case of anime openings) or it's just for aesthetic purposes?

I've always thought they were done as a low budget way to stretch out a scene or in some cases as censorship/adding suspense.

Wow, I can't believe there's actually a person who hates sky shots. I personally really love them. I love them so much in fact I usually incorporate several shots of the sky in videos I make for fun. I like it a lot because looking up at the sky reflects the state of dreamers to me. Dreamers are always looking up at the sky hoping and believing in the future; thinking about the path they're on a journey to forge. Looking up at the sky is very relaxing especially when it's a clear blue day.

I love looking at the skyline be it in an anime opening or in real life.

All scenes in visual entertainment are some kind of techniques. Also there is always someone who makes a topic about their "discovery". You could show sky or sea in moody scenes, you could show random soldiers running around in action flicks. It's not some kind of error, there are just better things to spend budgets on.

Why not rename this forum as the anime complaint section since that's what's mostly going on nowadays. Discussions don't even make 20% of the content within these threads.

I don't hate sky shots. I actually enjoy those things. But it's used excessively in anime openings. I will forgive all sky shots if it has some sort of a meaning and purpose, but in some instances, like in Netoge OP, it's like the sky shot is used just to show the title. That's a bit appealing to me but it's not creative enough to differentiate with other sky shots of other anime openings.

Really? I do love sky scenes. It reminds me of the "bright future" ahead. And the color is so warm and positive; it may also represent hope.
Freedom is also a possibility. Actually it can mean as many things as the people who think about it. That's the beauty of human imagination.
When I read your post, the first thing that came to my mind was Little Busters! There, Mio has a poem like this:

Does the white bird not feel sorrow?
It drifts alone, untouchedby either the blue above in the sky or the blue of the ocean.

and the sky is all over the place in that show. I really liked it.

I dont hate the sky shots. I love them but it's too excessive. I wanna see more unique ones.
Are you really all reading my questions? So far, nobody answered me.
Is there any SYMBOLISMS to it or just AESTHETIC purposes? What are yor OPINIONS?
I'm asking for productive discussions, not useless jabs.
AndI don't mind cliches. And I don't say the sky shots are cliches, but they are becoming one, given their frequency of use.

Well, I got your point. I think the problem is, you told two different things at the same time (1, your boredom with sky scenes, 2. The meaning of them) and people are stuck with the first one :)

I'm not hating on the sky scenes. Do you really read my whole post, you have poor reading comprehension, or my post is not clear enough? Just say!
What I disliked on sky scenes is that it is used for the sake of using it. No creativity in using the sky shot. That's what I don't want.
And I'm here asking you why sky shots are common. If it's because there's symbolisms or just for aesthetic purposes or just for the sake of it, or whatever you can come up. Why aren't you answering my question? Because you can't because you're dumb? I don't think so. Maybe because you think you have superior minds.

@BRB-kun I'm informed enough to very few old topics. And I heard people posting about at most eight post where people are saying this is an old topic reused over and over. And those are very general and common topics. So I assume all general and common topics were already discussed before. All my new threads IMO are not general, so I post it. Your intelligence and creativity is wasted in producing insults. Normally, it's the OP's that trigger people.

But actually it's my fault, because I forgot to add "?" to my title. I named it like that to attract posters. But because I forgot to put the "?", people are misinterpreting what I wanted to discuss and start whining.

The problem is it's a dumb question
"why are sky shots common?"
cause they look neat
That's fucking all
It's not hard to pull off and it looks nice
Why wouldn't it be used often.

While I already said it (aesthetic purposes), I still have a problem. Is that the only reason? No deep meaning? In the main anime content, I can forgive it, especially on SoL anime, but in anime opening, I wanna be strict about it.

But why are you strict about it if it's in the anime opening but not in the anime content? What's the difference?? Anyway, anime is also a visual experience so they need to give us something that looks great and sky shots look great and aren't really hard to do so they include it there. And maybe, they use sky shots as a metaphor for "sky's the limit" or something. Yeah, that's all I could think of. Next time, phrase your questions better OP.

Weather is integral to atmosphere. Weather can affect people's mood with some people getting depression because of it.

So it's often used in storytelling to convey atmosphere, like how lightning strikes when the bad guy laughs.

Why do you find this ineffective?

I can’t tell for sure whether there is any symbolism there, but my theory is that night skies in an anime opening/ending may symbolize or hint at a hero character’s subconscious thoughts, intimate feelings, contemplative moments, dreams, and even inner fears. Sunsets might represent a very emotional moment that a character is going through, or even a newfound revelation of something that a character just found out about. Sunrises may symbolize a new beginning for a character. Daytime is probably more broad, and may symbolize a bunch of different things, but I’d say it generally represents a sense of adventure, happiness, friendship, hope, etc.

Some openings do utilize a clear blue sky as a background in order to make the title easier to read, as well as for color harmony purposes. As for my opinion on morning skies being used in OPs, I personally don’t mind them at all, as long as they look good.
