Indeed, the major problem is research on 'disturbing' mental disorders are mostly done on criminals, just like how a lot of research done on psychopathy. While in reality not all psychopaths turns into criminals or serial killers. Science community is not at all free from prejudice, after all research needs funding and unpopular topics easily shunned by media. People want to cling to normalcy, even when we clearly see how 'neurotic' a modern society is. |
