just started with the manga and its simply hilarious laughing almost at every chapter xd so yeh wouldnt be bad if we another season of 24ep atleast they got more then enough material for it ^^

And all that hero academia boost its on the bottom more or less but you can see that the anime is doin its thing and giving the manga some sale boost.

Magi is the only manga that interests me from this list, good to see it sells... but damn in 6 days it sold like that... it needs a new season or something to boost it up more.

I think the earthquake has affected sales. Snk vol 19 isn't doing too well, as well.

Weird to see Magi outselling Nanatsu no Taizai, unless they haven't been out for the same number of days.
Boku no Hero Academia boost seems solid, although it's all about how long it'll remain there.
The rest seems lower than usual, but it's expected considering the earthquakes.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Then there's Trinity Seven and Attack on Titan and all of its spin-offs.

16 volumes in the author said it was 60% done so it will end with around 27-30 volumes.

He said around 20 volume not exactly at 20 volume. It was basically a estimate. And he has updated his statement saying it only has three more years left. And the reason for that is that he wanted to expand on some characters. Which means the series will end somewhere between 24-27 volume.

Snk is one of those series that can't be milked for years to come. If he wants to milk the series he would have to add in another plotline like aliens invading or some shit like that.

Isayama originally planned for a very tragic ending (with most of the main characters dying) around vol. 19 but because of the popularity of the anime, he decided to change the ending and that's why it's still ongoing. It'll prob end around vol 25 tho so

Nice to see all the volumes for Boku no Hero Academia got into the Top 50 this time. It should stay like that for a while though I hope it has strong legs for when the anime ends.

Wotaku sold really well for a series with just 2 volumes out. I guess it really deserves it since it's pretty funny and really relatable for otaku lol. Now we just need to wait for an anime announcement, hopefully from studios like Dogakobo or Kinema Citrus.

Awful sales all around, especially in the Top 5. One Piece hasn't had such a low total after two full weeks since June 2010. Shingeki no Kyojin too is back to around Spring 2013 levels. Nanatsu no Taizai seems to be in free fall ever since the anime ended. Unlike Tokyo Ghoul for example, it hasn't been capable of retaining its post anime boost numbers at all. Magi and Detective Conan did just fine though. Magi seems to have finally stabilised after several years of declining sales. Detective Conan was probably helped by the release of the movie and the 20th anniversary.

I do wonder what the impact of the earthquake had on these lower than expected sales though. OP and SnK were already down from their usual numbers last week, that was before the earthquake. Also, Detective Conan's 20th movie broke the movie franchise's opening weekend record by over 38% this weekend despite the earthquake, nearly selling as many tickets as a movie like Film Z did back in 2012 (when One Piece was at its peak). Whatever prevents people from buying manga should normally also prevent them from going to a theater I would assume. I think the beginning of the new School year perhaps had a bigger effect than the earthquake on the sales plummeting. The quake was very localised (in less than 8% of the country) though of course the psychological effect of such a tragedy on the whole population cannot be left neglected.

Anyway, next week is a big holiday in Japan (Golden Week) so if any sales was lost last week, they will be recovered then. Shingeki generally has good legs so I'm expecting it to sell more than 100k+ copies in each of the next two weeks. One Piece for its part may still receive a surge in its volume sales in July with the upcoming movie.

Impact of the earthquake was probably minimal since it took place on Kyushu island which hosts around 10% of Japan's population. And only 1% lives in the Kumamoto Prefecture.

Take the recent Conan movie for example, it 'only' lost 3% of its screens during its opening weekend because of the earthquake.

Hopefully sales will be back to normal soon. Probably a lot of Japan workers lost their jobs? There's probably something that we are not aware of that's affecting these sales.

This snk volume is the most action pack volume since volume 12, so I find it hard to believe sales would drop especially on a volume like this.
