| I'm one of those that doesn't like the art style. So for around 5 years i didn't get around to start watching this anime. But now that i started watching, i guess its the official art when you google one piece that is weird looking. And Luffy is weird looking definitely, especially him stretching around it's quite a shock. But now i find Luffy so damn cute! |
| Well compared to most art styles of anime & manga now-a-days,One Piece's art style certainly provides a cartoon-ish feel especially in the early days of One Piece when Oda's styles was in it's youth.This cartoon-ish style will obviously turn off some people since it's pretty much a fact of life that:Looks are everything (maybe it's not a fact.But the way society looks at it,it is :/ ).Personally, I never had a problem with One Piece's art style but I can see why people might not like it.Usually,most people who have a problem with it gets use to the art-style as they read or watch more episodes of the series. But sir or ma'am,it's OBVIOUSLY completely different than Kubo's art style for Bleach.Please compare them: I don't see any similarities. |

| I didn't like either anime but I think the reason that the animation sucked in one piece is the female characters were weird looking to me. I thought the Nami looked like Lupin the III... and she acts like him too... come on they are both master thieves and have really lanky bodys. So Nami compared to Rukia is a good example. |

One Piece has a really unique art-style that may look abit cartoonish, but it actually opens the door for more creativity while creating new characters, new islands, new equipments, new machines, and lots and lots of new things. In Bleach you can't really see any people with huge bellies or long-nosed or cyborgs or a reindeer with a blue nose. So basically they're totally different from each other, from the world to the art-style to the plot, there are almost nothing alike between them. |

Also, you have to look at how the art style matches the anime itself. Although both are fantasy, and step beyond the bounds of fantasy, Bleach has a much (imo) darker setup, with the whole death god thing, as well as the fact that it is grounded in reality with a sort of "what if". One piece on the other hand, is not based in reality, and embraces it with its cartoony style, and brighter colours to match with its more comedic, quirky nature (although I must admit I have shed man tears over it). |

| Not gonna lie but, a year ago I watched the first episode of one piece and dropped it because I didn't like the art style and too many episodes. 3 months ago I started watching it for some stupid reason and the art does fit it really well. It's on pause now but i'm on 516. going to re-watch it soon. I would say just give it a chance, the animation does get better over time too. |

| After seeing so much anime, it's a bit jarring too see something like One Piece, which resembles Western cartoons. I welcome it. Most anime I watch have this generic cuteness that makes them boring and annoying to look at. Then, comes One Piece, which breaks the mold by putting wackiness and levity over beauty and class. I prefer wacky and gritty character art over moe, bishojo, and bishonen character art, so I find myself prefering more western comics/cartoons over eastern manga/anime art. I think wacky characters can be some of the best characters. I find most of the people who dislike Oda's art to be very vain, shallow, and a aggressive weaboo venting his/her anger at western works. |

| lel i never liked one piece from the start like, years back i used to hate it because i was so annoyed at the art style but after a few months i decided to give it another shot and boop---i got hooked and the art style didnt bother me anymore and ive grown to love it too and welp "its what makes one piece, one piece"... :D |

| I only read the manga and I have to say that it isn't the best art style for me.The scenes are too chaotic and confusing for me to pick out important details from it,but that's just me. |

| People who complain about the art are actually more concerned about the character designs, because they look cartoony and funny, it's the type of design that needs some time for them to get used to, so starting to watch the show is the most difficult step for them. They confuse the problem of character design as "bad art style". I think everyone who watched One Piece would agree that the quality of its art style is similar to, or even better than Bleach. And I think what you meant when you said that they're similar, is that they're on the same level, correct me if I'm wrong. |

| If it looks cartoony then we could argue that Cartoons = Anime or Anime = Cartoons. Adventure Time = One Piece or One Piece = Adventure Time. Same goofy art with HQ HD theme. Artstyles are just fitting into the meta now. Go on with the old in with the new. |
