| can anyone tell me what the fuck i'm supposed to take away from this episode? this episode was a whole lot of nothing. and that's an understatement compared to the past 8 episodes -- which is basically the entire series. how to rest, my ass. the entire production team have been resting since episode 1. as predicted, the anime is beyond saving. there is no way they can turn this around even if the next episode had a scene straight out of LOTR. i can't wait till it's over. |

| Quite a nice breather of an episode. I liked seeing some stuff in here. Now there are three episodes left for the mines, will it really be enough? I want a second season confirmed already with some interaction between this and that Renji's group. |

| Loving the music in this series and this episode was no exception. I think Hal's ability to see streaks of light will come in crucial when fighting the last boss of the last few episodes in the coming weeks and hopefully Mary can overcome her fear of the Cyrene Mines as the whole party will be very dependent on her not only because of her abilities and experience, but also her familiarity with the surroundings. |

After that we see some badass fight scenes from Renji’s party as well as a duel between him and the Orc’s leader ( who even speaks human language ). It’s not only about surviving anymore but making yourself a name, improve, raise your living standard. So you see it’s nothing really important. That’s also why I think it got cut out but it would have been nice to see, I have to admit that. What I like though is how they didn’t just blandly cut it out and leave it like that, no, they replaced it with another anime original scene between Mary and Haru which I can only love to death. They really try to pay focus on the character interactions with this adaptation whether it’s within discretion of the author or not, I don’t know but it’s definitely not a bad decision. Personally I thought they would bait us all with the misleading episode title and preview scenes just to surprise us all with the sudden orc invasion, guess I was completely wrong lol. They also altered the order in which they acquire their new skills. In the source material our groups went to training after they’ve visited the Siren Mines for the first time, the anime on the other side puts this progress between the battle against the Goblin group and their first visit of the mines. I think that’s actually a good move because it shows you that they now have surpassed the Goblins as enemies once and for all. They’ve advanced to a new height and prepare themselves accordingly to it, I mean there’s nothing wrong with getting some new skills before advancing to a new environment with new enemies. So all in all I’m a little bit sad that they cut out this awesome chapter but happy with how they managed to make up for it. Before some people come to the conclusion that the anime now goes for an original ending for this season or even a whole story line, that’s not the case at all. We are far far faaar away from being anime original. The anime still follows the LN perfectly, it only cuts out content that doesn’t has any really important meaning and even that happens very rarely. interesting info you got there, now that you said that i REALLY wish they had added this fight. Yeah that would have been really nice to see. Still it's nothing majorly important and they made up for it by focusing on Mary - Haru scenes :) |

| Normally I don't write reviews of episodes that passed at least a day before it. But I felt I had to make an exception. I really like this anime a lot. Like I said in one of my first reviews, it's not really the situation and problems of the world which are the bottom line, it's the emotions of the characters itself. That on its own is something amazing I haven't seen before in this genre. It might have been a risk to create something like this, but I'm glad they took it. I think it's one of the best anime of this season. So far I really want to continue watching. Great development. Dem Feels, I want some more/10 |

| Really fun and relaxing episode the English songs were a bit of a surprise but definitely a good one, and it's nice to see the characters getting some personal time and is getting to see what they get up to on their own. But I will go down with my ship YUME x HARU |

| There's some modestly good news on the sales front. The pre-sales for Grimgar are at 4k for the first volume, which is third among the winter season anime. If it can get up over 5k by the end of the month it would be considered a modest success and might garner enough interest to persuade the production company to add a season. |

Felt kinda "meh", but then again every episode that Mary (now officially Merry for god knows what reason) is in kills the joy for me >.< I hate A-1 so much for the drastic changes they did on Mary's character design. The divergence from the LNs here and there wasn't enough, they had to ruin her too... |

| Episode 9 and it's still slow as fuck.. kind of disappointed I didn't drop this so I'm going to finish it now. I'll probably end up giving this a 3 or 4.. Mary is really carrying this anime hard in terms of bonus points from me. |
| How is she not freezing to death? Afaik it's snowing outside. Anyway decent episode. Barbara still best tho the training part was a bit cringy (and funny at the same time... weird). Alright now, I know I was praising the insert songs a couple episodes ago, but this is fucking too much: there's hardly any BGM at all! It's starting to look like a twelve episode advertisement for [K]NoW_NAME's debut album, or some shit. Really throws you off. |

| A day off? What a great idea to explore the world a bit through the towns inhabitants (I am excluding the stranded people and the tavern). But... wait... noone?! Great, a ghost town, what a missed opportunity. I guess I should feel grateful for the tiny bit delivered by the guide. And be happy to see young people developing some "romance" now that they are done mourning, instead of actually searching for a way out or even being the slightliest curious about the mysteries around their existence in this world. + The different locations we have see until now seem so disconnected from each other. (sorry if I am not intelligent enough to tie them) Also, what did the public do to earn this full (strange) fan-service scenes instead of actual training scenes? Note: since the town is stuck between hostile grounds and ocean, I suppose they communicate with the outside through naval means. I'd like to get some more infos, please. |

| This anime's pacing has been really great after Manato died. I wonder who Haruhiro thought of when her teacher asked which one was she interested in? Either Yume or Mary obviously. |
| With couple of insert songs i thought it was quite nice or just not that bad, but at this point i really think that there should be some sort of limit. With how they pairing Mary and Haru i think i was rather strange how he suggested to go to syrene mine considering her past and i think that he is not a dumb mc and quite sensetive. And for this memont i don't think that it was some adaptation mistake. Still shipping Yume x Haru and once more no obligatory ass shots =/ |

Do the light novel sales even affect the possibility of a second season? I seem to recall cases where a light novel starts selling more because of an anime adaptation but the anime's BD/DVD sales being mediocre... resulting in there never being another season, but in the end promoting the source material. |

| This episode was all about the background music for me. That english song though, I definitely didn't expect that one in the show. Also ,the beatboxing with the rap, something I didn't expect either. I think the creators of this show want to try out different things when it comes to sound, since you don't often hear english songs and beatboxing in anime. |

| I can't believe some call this episode boring..definitely enjoyed the off time and especially seeing that Mary x Haruhiro tension. =P Mary's been getting a lot of attention lately. But I definitely thought that shot of Yume lead climbing was friggin nice, thought not as amazing as the stars and skyline when Mary had to step out. This is pacing is so relaxing. Love it. |
| Such a nice and soothing episode! the scene about their free time with the insert song was very well done. I especially liked Haru and Merry's talk... I hope she's able to overcome her fears with the help of her current party :) Oh, and Haruhiro's sensei is a potential Merry/Haruhiro shipper :D They look so cute together <: |

| Shihoru has gotten a little more confident, judging from her convo with Haruhiro. Good stuff 'Tetra pod' I love Yume. Mary's character development, loved dat! That teacher is annoying. Too much violence and sass, meh. The show is starting to ship HaruMary I guess? It's lovable, I don't mind. Still wish we see HaruYume from time to time. |

| Late watch. A buildup, boring but understandably so. Not much to say but they really really shouldn't have shoved in that piano piece in her breakdown scene, it fucked up all the tension I'm not liking sensei in any way.. |

| They have made it a little too obvious when Barbara started talking about it but the moment Mary and Haru shared together when he went after her was nice indeed. It's actually pretty clear those two are slowly getting close to each other to the point they realize it might even be a love. Other than that, I really enjoyed this episode, it was actually very refreshing to see some ordinary life in the city after all that action. |

| Quite slow, but it seems to be the change that so wished, because in the end I'm okay with daily life, but a shock to the usual routine, makes things nice. Even the character of Haruito suffering from déjà vu, that follows in certain situations, what you see in the usual stereotyped characters, but overall, not bad the episode vision. Finally we see an "unknown ceiling", what a beauty! Haru has the best training. ASD |
