Depends on the anime. If it includes characters I like, I watch them. If they are quite lengthy, I skip them. Sometimes, fillers are even more entertaining than canon stuff.

I drop the anime. Don't know how I manage to finished Bleach and the first Naruto, because Naruto should be named as ''Filler'' instead.

I would feel bad if I skipped any episode, OVA, or special, or didn't complete an anime, so I would never do that.

Yes, there is. It's called Dragon Ball GT.

I always watch the filler of an anime when watching it the first time because it is part of the anime and I won't say I watched the anime without having watched all the anime. When I rewatch that anime, it depends on which I like, how many, etc that decides if I watch the fillers.
Excellent answer, same how I work

Yes I do watch the filler of most anime as sometimes its a nice break from the major story and some filler can be quite enjoyable like the current One Piece filler

I watch all fillers because you never know when they might add a little canon material to an episode.

Really depends on the anime, I used to watch them all, but then the Bountou arc came and it was just a pain to get through so I skipped it.

I watch em. How else do I know whether they'll be good or not? Take Railgun for example. It has a decent amount of filler and is still entertaining.

I gotta agree with this though. This was the only filler i skipped after about 10 or so episodes. It was just too lame

Yes, though a lot of time due to habit I just keep going to the next episode without knowing it's a filler, matter not since you still see the same characters anyway. :)

When you don't read the manga it's all filler. :5 A true anime fan realizes that anime is simply the filler for their lives.

Fillers can be quite a pain indeed but some fillers have interesting/funny side stories, but it's defo all about what anime we are talking/discussing about.

I think I've only watched 2 anime with filler(Naruto and Bleach) and didn't skip any of it because at the time I didn't know what fillers were. Still enjoyed them, though the qualities really were very different from the normal episodes.

Yes i watch them

I do not mind filler, don't get the big issue over them to be honest, i just play every episode in order from start to finish and enjoy the show.

For shorter anime series, I always will watch them. Even if they are non-canon and not part of the main story.

For longer anime series, it will usually just depend on the anime. The single episode fillers are quite fine, and can be nice step-away from the heavy focused action or story elements. I am currently watching Bleach, and am in the Shusuke Amagai filler arc right now. I thought about initially skipping this, but after suffering through the monstrosity that was the Bount Arc, I should be able to blow through this with no problem. I will probably skip the fillers altogether when I watch other long anime series.

Poll Question is incomplete. Anyone who wades through 'filler' and then continues to watch the entire anime, misses the point.

There's no such thing as filler episodes.

Episodes cost money to produce. Nobody wastes that kind of financing to produce work that is a waste of time, to the production staff. If they didn't want you to see it, they would have left it out.

If filler episodes are so important, then don't watch the anime, or condemn it. If enough people don't like a certain kind of wasted time, the production staff will stop doing that. After all, their main objective is making money at making anime. They want to improve it enough to sell more of it.

If the production teams don't learn this lesson, then it is clear that more people like the filler episodes than you do, and that creates more of a market for episodes you don't like. Most discussions of this kind are a numbers argument, in that I mean, numbers of people that are willing to pay for the product, who like filler versus you who don't buy a lot of anime, and are outnumbered by people that like filler.

It really depends on the series. Toradora has three filler episodes, for instance, but they're so well-integrated into the rest of the plot that they don't feel like filler at all. In fact, episode 14 ("The Palmtop Tiger of Happiness") is one of my favorite episodes of the series. I remember liking most of the filler stuff in Magic Knight Rayearth too, because it gave us a lot of extra character development. It's been over a decade since I last watched that series though, so who knows if I'd have the same opinion now.

On the other hand, I finished the Rurouni Kenshin manga before I started watching the anime, and as soon as it got to the first batch of filler episodes I could instantly feel myself losing interest. That's one of the reasons why I've been stuck at the 15-episode mark of that series for months now. Naruto was also a mixed bag - there was some filler I liked and some that wasn't very good, although in that case it at least kept me entertained enough that I was able to finish out the series (the first one, anyway - I dropped Shippuden years ago when I finally got fed up with the whole franchise).

It depends.. if it's only 1-2 episodes filler for a break i'll watch it.. But if it's already 5+ episodes of fillers, i'll skip it..

I watch fillers. However I won't defend an anime if it has fillers. just the fact that an anime has many fillers is a sign of bad quality. So skipping them does not matter, if it has too many fillers it is bad.

I don't read manga most of the time so nothing is filler to me, all episodes are new adventures. It is better this way then to freak out whenever you see something that was not in manga.

I usually watch episodes one after the other, so filler episodes end up being annoying due to binge watching.

So yeah, I skip them.
