Even though Papa doing something like that wasn't really unexpected because of his deadbeat personality, he actually didn't do anything bad for no reason at all. In fact, he ended up saving both Punpun and that woman from herself. She wanted to turn a new leaf for Harumi (yikes) so she can bag herself a new one but it turns out that he has a girlfriend as of now. |

| Mama punpun just wanting Papa punpun to tell her that he loved her and that everything would be okay got to me. Like my previous post, beneath all her bullshit, she just yearns to be taken care of too. Something anyone can relate too. Unfortunately, going ballistic and pulling the old kitchen knife and threatening to kill their son (and herself) did not inspire Papa to give her the assurance she was seeking. I felt bad for her for a bit, but she is also quite malevolent. And her expecting Papa to figure it out on his own while he was going through his own depressive state... relationships don't have to be this hard (I hope). Though it makes me question Punpun's dad a bit... if she was willing to threaten their son like that, it would have been better if he actually tried to see Punpun more or maybe make a case to the court that she was a danger to their son. But maybe he was a deadbeat through and through, wanting to wipe his hands clean of the situation and is content looking out for his son from afar. Man, why is everyone so screwed up? lol I guess lack of strong morals and a string of bad decisions will get you there. Which imo is the core reason that makes this manga terrifying. Anyone can end up in their situations with a series of terrible decisions and horrible luck. |
