Dem investigations underground.

This was an interesting episode imo especially with a new case. A new girl is introduced but that mechanical like beast in the dark is just scaryyy. The fight scene was nice with the accompanying OST. Go Shinya!

Here' comes the rest of the team, gogogogo

Oh boy this series.
It goes from detective duties to set up trap, uncommon one-sided confrontation, villainesque attitude from allies and FREAKING SHONEN TRIO CLOSEUP.
It can't get any better, can it? This anime is boss all around.

That was an intense episode, my attention didn't waver for a second. This is great stuff.

I'm not sure why Makishima is testing Kougami's moral integrity. Does he just want to tear him down?

I loved Masaoka for putting him in his place.

Makishima is playing with the cyborg man i'm sure he will finish him off if Kougami doesn't.

That being said, next week should be interesting.

I still trying to put together what the original game was supposed to looked like. Was the girl included or was it just supposed to be kogami with no way to win but die by traps. Im actually dissappointed in the old man i thought he enjoy the thrill of the hunt not a hunt where you will always win.

What a douche bag im happy the other guy gave kogami a chance to win.

I loved this episode, and didn't think it was that weak, but I agree. This is my favourite this season for sure.

It's pretty much one of the only anime I look forward to this season.

This was a great episode. I hate how Ginoza always picks on Akane. Give it a rest, jerk. >:< I felt such triumph when Masaoka just picked him up and threw him against that machine.

The trap was pretty elaborate. How much time did it take for them to think of that? Makishima must really... 'know' Kogami well I guess.

"Take off you clothes!" "Give me your underwear!"

Best lines of the entire show:D

Ginoza is a douche. I know that he's had some issues in his past, but he's too cold-blooded. I couldn't believe that he would throw Kougami under the bus like that.

Even with his sob story last week, I knew Ginoza was still an asshole and this week just proved it even further. There's a difference between tough love and just being a dick and he's on the latter. I thought he was being cynical at first when the other people were brought in but Ginoza seriously has no redeeming qualities. In relation to that, the popular theory that the old man is actually Ginoza's father was subtly hinted further with the way he dealt with him which I'm looking forward to see explored further.

Makishima and Senguji's plan from what we know so far is a bit basic thus disappointing. There might be more revealed next episode but I was expecting something more cunning from those two. I thought the antenna was going to be in the body of Akane's friend when Kogami had her take her clothes off but I was off in my prediction.

Sick outro to the ED this week also, got me hyped for next week

This. I really thought episode 09 tried to humanize more him, but seems like his scars are more profound.

Anyway, good action episode, well-paced.

EDIT: thinking better, episode 09 did some job for humanizing him. But I really expected less coldness from him...

Wow, this is such an interesting series.

I agree with all of you, Ginoza is just a fucking douche who doesn't take ANYTHING into consideration. I think he lets his past dictate his present actions too much and it causes him to rub off as an uncooperative asshole.

Probably the best episode so far. It eliminated most of my issues with the anime (pretentious dialogue; copying other series) and focused on the strengths of the anime (the atmosphere and Kogami as a character). Sucks that we have to wait another week now to see how this short arc ends. Ah well...

Damn that was the best episode yet. The first time Iv been so focused my eyes never left the screen. It had action, suspense, and even a little comedy. That said one of the best parts was when the old man threw the esteemed inspector. Put him in his place like a boss. Can't wait for the next episode.

Lol, seriously? Kogami's probably one of the less interesting characters in the show. I'd rather know more about the other characters. If they focus any more on him, the other characters won't get enough development time. Right now they feel like accessories to the show, which is a shame. I'd be interested to know more about Yayoi and Masaoka instead. We got a bit of background info on Kagari as well, though more wouldn't hurt. Kogami's fine, but I think they give him too screen time at the expense of the supporting characters.

Really nice episode. The less of Makishima, the better. His "philosophical" dialogue is such a drag and not thought-provoking at all.

Oh man, you should rule the world, oh wise one.

And when does Makishima ever babble about philosophy? The criminals in this series are talking more about philosophy than he is. Makishima only initiates the conversations and asks questions. He's an observer, not a talker.

And incase you haven't noticed, Makishima's philosophy, whatever it may be, is what's driving all the crimes, no the ENTIRE SHOW in the first place. It's only logical to see as much of him as we can.

I actually thought the second antenna was going to be hidden on the old man so Kougami would have to kill him as well. It plays out well this way too, so that's fine. I guess the old man is too important of a character to be killed off so early... but then again it's Urobutcher we're talking about.

How Masaoka just picked up Gino and threw him really reinforced the father/son theory. I mean, people don't usually do that to colleagues, especially superiors... It almost seemed like discipline.

I like the characters way too much to continue watching this. With the Gen curse you know a good character is going to die. Maybe it'll be like a "HA! Fooled you!" situation where there's an actual GOD DAMN GOOD ENDING.

Love how all this is unfolding though. Sends shivers down my spine, the same ones the also came from Saya No Uta and Phantom.

Sorry if I offended your hard-on, but while Makishima's not the one that does most of the philosophical talks, he does initiate some of the most boring conversations in this show. He manipulates people by taking advantage of their beliefs and philosophies, all of which aren't particularly profound and are staples to the sci-fi genre (humans --> androids, value of life, whatever). Good lord I hope we don't see too much of him. It never feels compelling to listen to him talk, and I'm not a fan of how they use the music accompanying his dialogues either. The philosophies he and his people talk about are so ho-hum and overdone that it's ridiculous how much conversation the writers can make out of it, despite not really talking about anything the audience could learn more about.

The amount of screentime he gets for the role he plays is fine, but the way it's used is absolutely abysmal. He's hardly an interesting villain as of yet, only driving others to do the dirty work, but always working at such a distance that you never want to know more about him either. He's almost like an antagonistic moulder of this plot, but does it in such a way that you'd rather know more about the situations weaved than the weaver himself.

What more of the situations weaved do we have to know about? I don't see many plot holes or anything as such in the series so far.

And I do not believe that the philosophies discussed in this series are ho-hum. A lot of it is new material that has only appeared recently with the growth of the internet as well as our progress towards a cybernetic nation rules by men who hide behind avatars, (as you and I are right now). Hunter-kun said it himself; we're becoming a society where the number of living dead is only increasing. Now the number of shows/movies that have an antagonist search for a man of true value out of the millions of living dead is a pretty unique plot if you ask me. In fact, it makes me think that Makishima is an admirable man, in a sense.

And let me get this straight, you're watching this series solely for the action then?

This episode was so cool, I really liked it. Tsunemori really deserved those harsh words, but I don't like her anyway. Kougami is such a good detective, even better than her. It seems that the old guy with the double-barreled may actually end up losing, seeing Kougami. However, anything can happen, so I'm interested to see what happens next.

kogami's badassery never ceases to amaze me O.o

and gino is still a complete fucktard...

also, lol at akane's friend
what a genius! she sees the "same" helpful-looking bag that she apparently saw earlier after running around in a booby-trapped labyrinth hunting ground that reeks of potentially imminent death, so of course she deduces that the smart thing to do would be to run right for it and grab it because it would be useful to her now, when earlier it wasn't needed... Einstein

can't wait to see where this goes, and HYFR the old man putting gino's bitch ass in his place xD
