| People are listing so many characters that have far more fans than haters. Too many for me to bother quoting. Some are painfully obvious (Tomoya, really?), but a good way of checking this beyond general knowledge is to compare Anime Planet love/hate rankings of characters. Anyways: General Blue (Dragonball) Namie Yagiri (Durarara!!) I have a few others, but these are probably the biggest ones. |

| I would perhaps go with Shinji Ikari too, though I admit EoE did make him very f**ked up. I also don't mind Suzaku and Nagisa. But if I were to put something original up here, even if it probably doesn't count... Is Lenalee from D Gray Man considered hated by the majority of fans? Because I know some people have seen her as annoying. Yet I've always admired her sweet nature and cute looks and was pleased to find out she could fight a little. In fact, I'm scared she's gonna be downlisted as a useless female character like Sakura and Orihime were/became, because she hasn't had much action scenes lately. I might also put a vote for Naruto. Yeah he's an idiot at times but why can't anyone admire his determination? |

| ^Yes, Lenalee is "hated". She's in the way of ALLENxKANDAxLAVI. Fujoshi ain't havin' that. She actually was a useless character during the Noah's Ark arc, but she bounced back during the Invasion arc. She doesn't really get much screen time now though. |

| Kurumu (R+V) at least by anime fans only she was hated but from manga fans they will see why I put her as number 1 in my favorite. Chihiro Kosaka (Kami Nomi) get a lot of hate aside frm shipper it was ecause she rui Kaima plan several time. But for me she wa the most relatable character in the show. |

| I liked Shinji Ikari a lot in the series. His acts in The end of Evangelion drove me nuts but I think he was completely understandable in NGE. In fact, I was about to put him in my favorites' list when I finished the show. Wapol from One Piece is another example. He is a villain who is often loathed for being endlessly annoying and an unredeemable asshole who doesn't even have an agenda, however this worked for me pretty well. Considering the Machiavelian model of the One Piece villains, I was surprised at seeing one who was just bad for the sake of being bad, whitout a further reason. This, leading to incomprehension and hatred, made me feel some very intense shit against him. If a character is able to elicit these responses then there's no way I can consider them bad. |

I actually admire his character considering what he's gone through although in the anime he was a little too stereotypical(he's character is pretty portrayed in the VN especially in the Heaven's Feel route. |
