| i've only watched a couple of madoka episodes thus far, and i can definitely see why it won a lot of awards - some very ground-breaking and innovative stuff going on with the animation - really just a beautifully done show (so far)! |

| I may not agree with these, but then again, why would Japan care about an American's opinion? I do have to agree with Shinbo getting "best director," cos if he DIDN'T get it, I'd personally go to Japan and punch the voters in their mouths. |
| Good to see Madoka Magica winning the award again for best TV series. January - April 2011 was one of the best season of anime for me in the past 20 or so years of watching anime. |

While it's "nice" to see Shinbou and Urobuchi recognized too, I fully support Urobuchi in his negative response to this. TIAF's government backers would be the first to line up to criticize his visual novel work as "immoral" and "degenerate". An award that is in any way tied to that government is barely worth acknowledging. This... Finally someone got it right. Basically, just because someone's favorite anime didn't become the anime of the year doesn't mean the winner is overhyped/overrated. I mean Steins;Gate is number 3 in MAL, just behind Gintama and FMAB. Does this mean in MAL this show is overhyped/overrated? No....The answer is just NO. |
