| Time to start "the greatest sports anime ever" from what I've heard. Slightly worried going into this series, my main concern is that this series will be very repetitive to the point where I grow to dislike and eventually hate it,hope this won't be the case. As for this episode,great start went be so quickly. |

| as a huge fan of the sports genre, i guess it's about time i start this anime so far i'm pleased with what i see, i can tell i'm going to enjoy this anime. the MC isn't too terribly annoying, but his voice sure is. so high pitched :( and is it just me or does he seem incredibly short? like his legs are shorter than his torso art also kinda looks weird, but i enjoy old art styles so i can get over it. it's just strange to me that this is only made in 2000 and not even older, because it doesn't seem that recent the ONLY thing i know i'm going to struggle with for sure is the fact that i hate boxing, it's the most unappealing sport to me. i just hate how it looks and i dislike everything about it |

| Ippo lives in a society but he has endless potential to strive for greatness. I have a feeling that his journey to get to the top will surely be one of the most memorable stories I'll ever get the pleasure of witnessing. I wonder how the other hairstyles would look like later on since they're pretty peculiar so far. |

| Holy jesus batshit flying FUCK!! That cel-animation is AMAZING from the Opening ALONE!! It's got an alright start so far. I really like Ippo's character, it's something that I intriguingly relate to. I have the highest of hopes for this series. Anyway, I found this episode to be almost like a much better version of the My Hero Academia's introduction episode. As a Punch-Out!! fan, I might find myself enjoying the boxing from this. As someone who has participated in martial arts before, I found it to be quite good representation. |

| Been a while since my last rewatch and the nostalgia hit hard. I love the art/color palette, it's charming and the voice acting has a distinctive sound to it. Great start, knows how to get you hooked. |

| damn the osts are really good, honestly don't mind the noses and hairstyles at all. pretty normal artstyle i'd say. also pretty good animation for 2000. this has alot of potential to become one of my faves, i hope it continues to deliver all the way. |

| I have heard plenty of great things about this show, so ive finally started it and im not disappointed. This first episode was pretty good. Ipppo is already a very likable main character and i feel bad for him for getting bullied. Hes also a kind guy helping out his mother to run the business and hes got one hell of a punch. My favourite part of this ep was the talk about boxing being a serious sport towards the end of the episode. |

| Quite the start! I figured this would be good, but as others have said in prior posts, the themes of strength training and bettering oneself is already rubbing off on me. Ippo's a bit of a goober, but I also really appreciate the apparent depth to his character. He wants to get as strong as we want to see him be. Good stuff. Madhouse has yet to disappoint me, and it's not looking like they will here. I have high expectations! |
