i actually like the look of this and i think i might like it, but it depends on how the potentially good story line is portrayed, the manga art looks a little bit Shoujo but if they change that in the anime i am sure i will defiantly pick this series up.
for me the real gem about the manga is
a) the cute designs and/of the numerous plush animals
b) the comical expressions that seem to parody and take pride that it is a cartoon, not some realistic drama
c) the slight and creative deviation from manga/anime conventions, some include the blur/speed transition for flashback, old school facial expressions such as teeth and eyes jumping off faces, and the parodies and references to anime/manga we all know and love
hopefully this creativity that makes this manga a gem won't be lost in the manga to anime transition, and perhaps even emphasized upon, rather than trying to fit the manga into anime standards and conventions.. perhaps liven things up with a bit more creativity.
It's by far the funniest manga I've read in a while, and my favorite in a long time. It mocks/pays tribute to many old school anime, such as Dragonball Z and Fist of the North Star, and more - all while balancing comedy and seriousness perfectly.
