This anime just has brilliant storytelling. Little by little it builds the story and even minor characters have important roles to play. The relationship between Harry and Brandon reminds me a lot of the one between Guts and Griffith in Berserk.

Can't believe Brandon and Maria didn't get together. All that "I will be happy for him" is crap. Anyway, the story is great so far.

I agree. This anime keeps reminding me of Berserk and the game Mafia II.

Harrys on that Raoh level ambition, While I'm not a huge fan of his new look I definitely like how assertive Brandon's gotten.

I think it's odd that Brandon likes Maria but doesn't go after her, and it's clear that she also have feelings for him.
And Brandon changed a lot, the haircut and glasses give him a serious vibe.
Harry is dating Sherry, no surprise. And it was obvious that he could keep the doctor working in the dead alive...

Really Harry, you just had to go for the kid?

Otherwise the buildup is spectacular. The divide in interests between Harry and Brandon has been very subtle but given plenty of attention. I don't even mind the sci-fi aspect at this point, it's being integrated into the plot nicely.

Clear Guts and Griffith connection here, it isn't done nearly as perfect mostly due to pacing, but it's still done very well. This is likewise, a story of intersecting ambitions that have no limits. Both anime have a mostly fully fleshed out and beautifully characterized cast which drive the story as well.
I love Brandon's new look, he would be a good Daddy. I can only hope the new use of supernatural elements will be a little better than the mess it was at times before.

I don't like where this whole business with Maria and Brandon is going...

Looks like Harry is close to his goal and ready to move.

I dig Brandon's new look, he reminds me of Hajime Saito from Rurouni Kenshin. Both characters share the same english voice actor so the resemblance is actually kind of scary.

Uh oh, I had a feeling Harry was going to invest in the super soldier project. Millennion is not going to like that especially after those super soldiers wiped out so many of their men...

Timeskip thingy is so questionable decision and using it way too much to advance the plot that leaves a lot to desire.

At least the new Harry's design better than his second one while Heat's design significantly worse.. I don't understand why they continue to look less cool as they age is beyond me. Have a really bad feeling of Maria and Harry's evil laugh at the end...

Harry really doesn't age well does he ? If I'm right, they said it's been 3 years since the Necrolyzation incident, so a total of 8-10 years since the 2nd episode. Brandon and Harry seemed to be in their late teens/early twenties but after 10 years they look like they're in their 40s.

Also a reminder that Sherry can't be more than 17 or 18 in this. It's even creepier when you realise they probably started dating well before this episode.

Another timeskip? I thought Harry would've aimed to acquire the power of necrolyzation immediately after the conflict with Lightning, so I wonder why it was thought of as neccessary. We also know that he really likes his hot chocolate, so to speak. Bear is right to not trust Sherry with this guy. Harry is shady even for a mafioso.

Maria's been out of focus for ages now. This episode did reveal her to be somewhat resourceful when it comes to information gathering, but she's still lacking in much character outside of being a kind woman. The dearth of screentime she gets probably doesn't help.

Absolutely insane episode, the story moves so fast into doom. The Cthuluesque angle of necrolization adds so much, and it’s all finally been tied together.

Maybe it isn’t bebop but it’s still a very impressive series. Straight into hell. But freedom sounds scary in this context, for whom exactly? lol.

Brandon have developed a lot and Harry seem to finally lost his mind.
