Laika in a nutshell. I didn't even realize she had an interest in martial arts or that it's a thing in this season. Fine episode though. It felt a little different despite the overall vibe remaining the same.

But yeah, Bussler and Laika definitely had a bond this episode.

Bussler's back, and her love for money still knows no bounds. She and Laika have grown quite close thanks to the martial arts tournament, and Laika in the martial artist clothes looked really cute, but their way of fighting was nowhere near actual martial arts.

They visited Flatorte's homeland, where the blue dragons reside, but her people are just as crazy as when Flatorte was first introduced in the first season. One moment it feels like they're ready to kill each other, and the next they're all cheerful and want to officially fight to see who's stronger. The ending suited the episode well, with both rival dragons returning to their daily routines.

I'm starting to have Halkara withdrawal. If I don't get an episode focused on her soon, I don't know what I'll end up doing.

I battle between a dragon and a slime and a fighting tournament which ended as expected.
It was nice to see the home of the blue dragons and it seems they all respect strength.
Still the rivalry is strong between the dragons.

Animation in this episode was poor. Which was too bad, as with better animation this could have been the best ep so far this season.

Another adorable episode it always feels good to start my Saturdays off with my girls. Finally the dragon girlies get some shine today!

First half with Fightie and Laika entering the tournament was so funny, nobody tell Fightie the name of the show please. 😂 her turning into a slime and still being OP was so ridiculous lol. Armor or no armor, there’s no stopping the cheese attacks. What was crazy to me was her not offering Laika any of the 30 million prize tho? Like yea Fightie carried the fights, but without Laika she wouldn’t have been able to enter as just a slime

Second half was the best part though. I didn’t realize flatorte just left her village without telling anyone like that, no wonder she wanted to go home. Laika getting jealous and tagging alone was cute, but swear there’s not one normal person in that whole community. Goku would fit in well there since they only know how to communicate through strength lmao. Of course our girl is stronger than the dragons, though!

Laika v Azusa fight looked good to me and it was sweet because I totally forgot her coming to meet Azusa is really what started this whole family and story so they’ve been together the longest! Happiness sure comes from unexpected places ❤️ great episode

@joemaamah I have an opposite feeling about this episode, as this is probably the weakest of the show (as in both Season 1 and 2) so far (not really bad, but rather meh IMO).

While there's some good stuff in Fightie's first half, when it comes to the tournament itself, it relies on the reusing the same joke (Fightie's special move being a spam attack) that worked the first time over and over again a la South Park. Meanwhile, Flatorte's village is basically a one-note story (everyone in town wants to test their strength by fighting Azusa).

Also, as the show finally has an episode this season that involves a tales that neither involves the entire family nor has Falfa and/or Shalsha as one of the main family members involved in it, the big weakness of the season does start to kick in for me: a lot of the stories doesn't have the full ensemble appeal of the previous season (with me feeling that this, along with not wanting to interrupt the pacing of the Kuku episode, is one reason the tale of Flatorte's home village was skipped over until this season), with anime-only scenes being added just for the sake of giving the rest of the cast at least one line in the episode. It isn't helped by the final scene, as in at least the manga version,

Fightie's 'cheese move' reminds me of the similar move some dude with his smartphone in another world used... what was the name of it again... oh yeah, SLIP! ;> hahah! ;>

i wonder why Sandra said that plants don't whack people or swing swords? does this world NOT have Treants or other aggressive fantasy world flora?? i mean dryads ARE a type of plant girl and if you consider... ughmm... errr... welll... "Death By Snu-Snu!" aggressively 'providing comfort'? ;9 heh heh heh :9

Loved the episode! Laika fighting as a slimemancer because Bussler reverted to her original form due to injury was pretty hilarious. I'm quite surprised she didn’t return to her usual form by the end of the episode, though. Still, she was pretty strong even in her slime state—she made Laika look like a genuinely overpowered slimemancer, haha.

Putting Laika and Bussler aside, I’m glad we got to meet Flatorte’s parents. The whole Blue Dragon tribe was hilarious, with everyone eager to test their strength against Azusa because of the OP rumors surrounding her, haha. I loved how Azusa literally one-punch knocked out every single Blue Dragon, with Laika being the only formidable opponent. Of course, Azusa won in the end, but the fight was still pretty cool.

Well the martial arts tournament turned out almost exactly like it did in Season 1 with the competition being swept, but I did really like the unique addition here with Laika teaming up with Fightie/Bussler, Laika was essentially a Pokémon trainer that only used their starter the whole game lol. And the cheese attack being used over and over was a funny bit, hey if it works, it works lol, but just like before, I did feel kinda bad for the actual martial artists there, training their whole lives just to get beat by a slime and a cute girl, but I guess if you want proper battles this isn’t the show you’re gonna get it from lol.

And I also really enjoyed the bit with Flatorte’s homeland, it was expected that Azusa would be embarrassing all of the blue dragons but it was fun to watch, especially the rematch with Laika after all this time, something that happened on episode 1 of Season 1, aka 4 years ago, so I really appreciate the callback there, of course Laika didn’t win but I still liked what it meant for her. And we end on yet another match between Laika and Flatorte, this time it’s ping pong, I kinda wish we got to see that but I imagine it was battle of the gods lol.

I had forgotten everything about that girl, including she is a slime.
Anyway, that was one of the more entertaining episodes this season (which is admittedly a low bar), back to its roots.

@joemaamah Nah man the animation was fine, wasn't great or anything but it did the job perfectly well. Besides having such consistent art and a good amount of animation makes it actually good in the year of 2025. A year where what we usually get is either a slideshow with moving lips (that was "totally not" a blue lock s2 reference) or faces changing shape every single scene.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

Finally, a fair amount of Laika's cuteness... still not enough though.

Glad you get it, Azusa. The first girl always the best, yep.

Always such a loving family huh. A plant that would swing its branches and roots around like they're blades would be damm scary. Being reverted back to a talking slime was a better result i think. Laika the slime mancer was quite the name for the tournament. Shock win for them though. It was nice seeing Laika strive to see how far she had come with her request. The ping pong match between Laika and Flatorte never gets old lol. Azusa's single handed beatdown of the blue dragons would surely become a legend one day.

That was probably the best episode in this season. Seeing a witch fighting with her bare hands all the time is pretty boring though.

im not even gonna lie
this season started strong and ended up being so utterly weak halfway, the fact they basically have done next to nothing with Sandra or some of the other characters from Season 2 is severely hampering this one bad. They need to pick up the pace soon

So Fightie is just money hungry, which is why she’s using her martial arts skills in this tournament. She was actually effective in her special move, Crouching Heavy Kick, which she was spamming like it’s a fighting game. What I’m more shocked about is the fact that she used this in the tournament and spammed her way to the final round. When the final guy was wearing armor, she simply went into his armor and made the dude pass out from not being able to breath. It reminds me of what Mash did in Season 2, but his case is different because he doesn’t turn into a slime.

And Flatorte looked a little, disengaged throughout all of this and in the end, she, Laika, and Azusa went back to her home, in which everybody was obsessed with fighting Azusa because they’re all like Goku in that sense, and all of the Blue Dragons perform an ice breath before Azusa claps their cheeks (NO HOMO), but then Laika and Azusa fought as well.

My question is who won the ping pong match between Laika and Flatorte?

Another cute episode. Blue Dragons are fun and always want to fight. Azusa beat everyone there, and a serious challenge from Laika followed. It's true that Laika brought Azusa's family together. The tournament was fun as well.

An episode all about Laika, as Fightie is back to spar with the red dragon to take home a rather big prize money from a martial arts tournament. The thing is, Fightie being all about her martial arts, only to get burned by Laika and turning herself into a slime, her creature state itself is already a liability enough, so Laika entering in her stead seems like the alternative good choice. The "Slime-Mancer" as Laika puts herself, and Fightie spamming her Street Fighter-esque low kick moves which is quite the cheese (as Azusa puts it), all the way to the end with literally cheat moves...so much for "martial arts" lol...

Oh well, Fightie earned the 30 million gold prize money, and she's content with it. But Flatorte always gazing at the mountains, feels the yearning for home, and since the tournament venue is near her homeland, they make the journey there...alongside Laika, unwillingly following out of spite. The Blue Dragons may look like a normal family, but they're anything BUT normal when both Azusa and Laika were approached against her own parents, as well as her homeland boonies wanting to compare their strength against the Witch of the Highlands, which Azusa clears them without difficulty. However, Laika assumes the challenge to prove her training from the Witch herself, and given that she's one of the OGs when it comes to the family, they've certainly come a long way.

Otherwise, the rivalry between both Red and Blue Dragon stays the same as it always has been, strong and ferocious.
