Riri, Koujiya, and Chika has such good chemistry in this episode/show imo. Riri does have a more mature vibe to her character and also enjoy drinking. They got to enjoy the nature outdoors and spending time together.

Chika's curiousity takes her to Kyoto this time but the vibe still felt similar to the previous episodes.

The episode was rather funny, with Riri and Fuyune joining Chika on her journey. They had great chemistry, making their interactions fun to watch.

We also got some great views, some history, and details about the places they visited as usual. All in all, this was a fun episode.

Chika traveling with fellow mangaka this time and it seems she can learn a lot from them.
it's nice to see everything here it's a view of Japan you usually don't get to see unless your looking in some travel guide.
Lily was giving a bad example tho getting drunk like that.
Well let's hope she can help Chika achieve her dream of becoming a mangaka

Sake tour in Kyoto. 😂

Locations:
Fushimi Inari Taisha
Fujioka Shuzo
Gekkeikan Showagura
Matsumoto Shuzo
Ramen Hiwamatanoboru
Charaku Honkan
Amanohashidate Viewland
Amanohashidate
Motoise Kono Jinja

Sadly, they didn't visit Funaya in Ine. It's another must-visit tourist area around Amanohashidate.
With Amanohashidate, Chika has already visited two of the three Views of Japan. The missing one is Itsukushima in Hiroshima.

For the next episode, I think it's Awashimaura in Niigata Prefecture.

Another fun trip for Chika, this time with a mangaka acquaintance and her friend, who is none other than the drinking girl that we saw in a previous episode.
Some beautiful sceneries and monuments, as always, and some amusing moments between the three girls.
I'm glad to see that Chika and Riri have kind of become friends by the end of the trip.

Cute travel to Kyoto and near cities/spots, the touristic aspect is really good obviously when it comes to Kyoto's culture and temples, also it's cool that she traveled with two mangaka friends, that Riri girl though, imagine being this alcoholic and obsessed with alcohol at this age lol this is actually concerning

A visit to Kyoto huh. Nice to see Riri finally get some screen time though. Fushimi Inari Taisha is defo quite the mythical place. Still their trip sure ended up revolving around alcohol. Quite the inn that they ended up staying at though. Fuyune's imagination really is something though. Still this little outing sure was nice and is sure to provide new insight for the three manga artists. I loved what they did here with the ending.

Kyoto trip yay! Our biggest group yet with Chika, Fuyune and Riri and it makes sense given Kyoto has the most history damn near out of anywhere in Japan. So many cool sites to see and food to eat and Chika got to learn a lot from her two senpai. This was great. We need the mono collab!!

Seeing the girls tackle Fushimi Inari brought back memories, but for reference it’s best to get here very early, especially in the summer, because it’s so packed and you’ll wanna get pictures of the Inari gates without people in it. I went at like 5am and it was just me and one Australian dude taking photos. Two hours later it was filled to the brim.

Alcoholic shoujo mangaka save me! Riri is soo pretty, idk how she was able to even enjoy the trip being drunk all the time, but hey everyone’s got their quirks lol. When sober she’s actually quite thoughtful and you can see with her work ethic why she’s so successful as a mangaka.

So they talked about the tanuki symbolising it being an authentic Izakaya. There’s many great Izakaya that don’t have them, but tanuki are seen as good fortune so it’s common to have them outside of restaurants and shops, especially in Kansai!

Ah I’m glad they got to go to Amanohasidate. So now Chika’s seen 2 of the 3 great views of Japan. I hope she can get to Miyajima, the only one I’ve been to! I thought that look upside down under your legs thing was a joke, but turns out that is a very real thing lol. Apparently it’s supposed to make the strip of land look even mystical, I’ll pass on that, think it looks gorgeous as is!

Really sweet episode, loved the chemistry with the two senpai and kouhai, and it’s nice seeing Chika be the little sister figure and get babied on one of these trips for once!

This anime series also turned out to be better than I imagined at the beginning, this spring season is proving to be quite rich in interesting and intriguing anime. Today the narration made me change my mind about the goodness of this anime series, so I also raise the overall rating for it, as happened with another anime. The narration was pleasant and I like the character design as well as the backgrounds. The story flows pleasantly even without being anything transcendental. I can't wait to see the next episode. Ah! The opening and ending are catchy.

Riri is the proper alcoholic from the first episode. Who would've thought their paths would cross later? You might have an opinion against it, but what she says here is pretty good, given her work:

Basically, you enjoy it as you see fit. And when it is time to get serious, you get serious.

Who wouldn't love to have a Onee-san who takes you on trips and pays for the stay in great places?

Oh, yeah. That's totally out of a manga. That would never happen, right?

I'm going to be honest here: I wasn't too convinced to watch this episode before Aharen, but I'm glad I watched it. It was really good.
©2025 LaczPro

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

I'm jealous that people find this relaxing. I'm finding this so, so dull.

It's not dull because it's a travelogue, it's just a dull travelogue. I can be watching actual travelogue on YouTube instead, with actually entertaining hosts, with actual footage of the wonderful sights in full glory.

The characters still have nothing interesting about them; they might as well be stick figures. One's a drunk, ho-ho. "It's just a travelogue" is not an excuse, if that's true, then they can just cut out all the characters and show me the sights; why didn't they do that, actually?

The actual traveling are often wordless freeze frames and background music. Their experiences are painfully typical; when they come across something cool, it's on the level of "wow, what a view" or "so cute, aww," and when they eat good food, they go "wow, delicious." The art, the voices and the music are just... fine.

It's not even very informative for travelers, other than showing them that these places exist... somewhere in Kyoto prefecture (I think?). The Japanese audience must have at least heard of these places, what is this anime offering them? It's just strange to me that this exists, other than for purposes of promoting tourism (clumsily) and nothing else.

I think this bothers me this much because I've been looking forward to a good travel anime (or just traveling, period). I'm done venting, dropping out.

Another cozy episode.

The three of them, those being Riri, Chika and Fuyu, have such a good chemistry. Despite Riri talking about sake every chance she gets, she seems pretty diligent and I like that part of her. The views this episode were so good, makes me want to go to Kyoto.

Somebody at Makaria probably got a short vacation to all these places just to take pictures to use as references (and maybe even the background itself lol) in this anime.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

I think this travelogue series works best if you already visited some of the portrayed places and have a personal connection to them. If not, then it's more difficult to get invested in the show and its characters.

Likely, we will learn more about Chika as she gains more inspiration to draw a draft that will not get rejected.

Regarding the lack of information on the place visited, your point is valid if you seek entertainment. However, travelling to other cities sometimes does not involve learning much about the place. It would be about a change scenario portrayed by those late-minute polls and the overall dynamic.

I understand that this is an anime meant to promote tourist spots in Japan; however, the plot and characters are quite bland, and it's something that has been executed better in anime like Yuru Camp or Okitsura. In this case, you're flooded with information and lots of text while the main characters visit places and say everything is pretty and the food is delicious, and of course, we have the typical drunk waifu... 4/10

She was cool at first, but she's actually a drunkard.....?! 🥲
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Chika accompanying Fuyune and her manga illustrator friend of Riri Tenkubayashi to seeing the Torii gates around Kyoto, and Riri being the wine connoisseur raises memories about seeing her being infatuated with alcohol, that she saw her enjoying herself the other day. Other than that, it's more sightseeing and food tasting, though Riri is just too intoxicated from drinking too much.

Onwards to more sake locations, and the stop towards Miyazu has Chika looking after the two mangaka friends instead, one for her constant worries and the other being uncontrollable due to her drunkenness. And Amanohashidate has lots of good views and inspirations that the girls can take away from.

A good trip spent with valuable friends, and a slice-of-life episode that does a justice to service.

@Azuchi It means there's a sanctuary in that place on the map. In Japan the manji (swastika) is still used on maps.
Also, remember that the swastika has been used for centuries before WW2. Iirc it has been around since the 5th century BC or something like that.

I would like the backgrounds more if they weren't just videos taken on phones and loaded into a graphics program with a filter over them to make them look animated. It's not animation, people.

I appreciate the anime having an adult cast (wrong again- chick says she just TURNED 19); but they all play into this Cute Girl trope and the moee distracts from the travel aspects that I would enjoy a lot more.
None of these characters are really very interesting; or their motivations for going places aren't very compelling. At least YuruCamp slowed the pace way down and let you absorb the scenery- but a lot of times it was just some dull scrub brush in the foreground with mountains in the distance; and a dull flat campsite where Rin would sit and cook something with her portable cooker... the gentle pace and silence let you gain the meaning through her experience of it. The seeming mundane surrounding enhanced the feeling of what a campsite is actually like.
The first episode of this ALMOST accomplished that; but by bringing in all these giggly girls, and them not being very interesting or just annoying and they're in a different location every 5 seconds really wrecks the atmosphere it could have. Sorry to complain.

And since it doesn't look like anyone really answered it, the question about the swastika, it usually denotes the location of a temple. It's usually shown with dots (in India at least, and they paint them on the front of the temple too) But I had to search for it on the map it wasn't very noticeable.

I watched this a little earlier today as I'm a few weeks behind on this series and another one from this season.

It was probably the best episode up to this point, if only because having other mangaka traveling companions finally introduced at least a little piece or taste of the formula which I originally thought was actually going to feature a lot more prominently and be a central focus of this anime, which is actually using passing sights of random local or tourist people, historical accounts, monuments and temples and other architecture, etc. as inspiration for brainstorming ideas for creation of new manga. Like, I thought that was heavily implied to be what the main point of the series was going to be: An aspiring young writer/artist turning to travel for inspiration.

I haven't had sake in years, but I also feel I'd enjoy all these episodes and the series as a whole more if I was likewise as sloshed as that lady mangaka. This is a show made for nodding off drunk 2am viewing.
