| After breaking free from the intense workload at MAPPA, the genius behind the jaw-dropping fight scenes in both Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 and movie, Sunghoo Park, is making his grand return. This time, he's heading to America to lead the charge at Toonami. And if you want to catch his work in its full glory, you'll definitely want to tune in over at the HBO streaming service. coldrain's OP is edgy, just as I expected it to be, and hell, it's a banger of a song. Joe Higan, now living as under the alias of Logan, a former ninja seeking solace from his turbulent past in rural America alongside his family, is unexpectedly attacked one night by a ruthless team of assassins sent by his former clan. Their savage assault leaves Joe and his loved ones battered and broken, but miraculously, Joe survives, awakening from the brink of death. Man, it's been forever since I've tuned in to an anime on Toonami. Feels like I'm reliving my childhood all over again. Missed this vibe. Something I didn't miss though was the fact that it's in English. You could wait for the Japanese dub that airs like 2 hours after this one, but whatever. Anyway, right from the start, you can tell this show's got that Sunghoo Park flair. That opening fight scene got me all hyped up. And it's not holding back on the brutality either. They practically set it up with that whole happy family montage. You know the drill - first episode, happy family? Yeah, they're probably not gonna make it. But gotta hand it to dad, he was a total badass. Almost took down a whole SEAL team with just his fists... And then they hit us with that song he was singing while he's discovering his family's bodies. But of course, it wouldn't be an anime without the MC having the plot armor of hell. I mean, for god's sake, he was literally pronounced dead by the doctor. If this isn't plot armor, I don't know what is. And of course, the bro went crazy on those SEAL team dudes, giving them the same treatment they gave his family. You know, my biggest concern is that this hospital just doesn't have 24-hour surveillance to see that one dude single-handedly left a bunch of bodies on the roof and on one floor. Then, bro goes emo. Lmao. What a start. This show is obviously going to be all fights, no substance, and I'm all here for it. Let's see what you got, Sunghoo Park. |

| What an intro so far. That action was dope. Especially with the first guy catching the needles with his mouth and returning them to sender. Aside from that, we know some guy called the reaper is involved with this fam and these assassins mean businesses. I’m curious what hat the electric was. It seems to have concealed their appearances Tho. Also, the music is a banger. So far, my only complaints is some of the dialogue for English just sounds off to me and I was kind of expecting more of a surprise look from the FBI agent in the hospital unless he knows more about these groups and isn't all that shocked. |

| Incredible first episode. Even though the synopsis made it painful to watch their dreamy farm life knowing what was coming, seeing these "normal" people suddenly pull off badass ninja moves was epic. Plus in hindsight, it makes sense now why some kid in the middle of rural America would be fascinated with Japanese Onis. Crazy twist that the entire family even the kid were using holo disguises. And the OST at the end when the Ninja Kamui was born, this is going to be a badass, brutal ride. |

| Not a bad start. Excellent animation and fight choreography, and a nice little twist with him not being a blonde guy. It looks like the tech isn't flawless either, because his eyes changed colors a few times throughout the episode. This is more or less John Wick, the anime. He even goes back home after everything and gets his secret stash. There were even some aspects of Metal Gear Revengeance in there. It appears the MC is partially cybernetic? And the bad guy looked like Sundowner. Due to this being a revenge story, it's fairly easy to see where this is going, the real question is how will it go about doing it? The most important aspect is the action, and so far it's delivered. We'll see how things like story and characters will be as the show goes on. |

| It's a damn shame this won't be added to MAL's database but I'm glad someone still made a thread where we can discuss it. I actually nearly forgot about this show until about a week ago lol, but this was absolute gas and lives up to the hype generated by the teasers. We all knew those guys would find the MC and his family eventually, but it still hurt to see that happen after all the scenes we saw of them as a loving and happy family. The action, obviously the main draw of the show, was amazing, with some of the best fight choreography I've seen since Naruto, and it goes without saying that the animation was top tier as well. This is shaping up to be something really good. Though, despite the praise, there will obviously and inevitably be those people who will default to using their favorite buzzword, "edgy," to describe this simply because it's a darker and more mature series with lots of blood and violence (never would have imagined that from something airing on Adult Swim 😱🤯). For a series like this, where the action and animation are the selling point, I'm not looking for deep, thought-provoking themes, or nuanced character writing, just give me some badass, high quality action scenes with an at-least-decent story and I'm good to go. After all, anime is entertainment, not homework. I couldn't care less if the premise is unoriginal or has been done to death 🤷, as long as it entertains me, the show will have done its job. | This was everything that I wanted it to be and more I knew the action sequences were going to be godlike and they did mot disappoint. I also love the sci-fi aspects of the show like how they have tech to change their apparences, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of that Based on the bedroom scene, I'm guessing that the wife was also a ninja, but man that was sad to see what those guys did to her and his son. But there's nothing I love more than a good revenge story, so I'm all in from start to finish Easy 5/5 |

| The anime has a mixed combination of anime Western and Japanese vibes, not that I have a problem with that. The premise is a revenge story involving Joe surviving a brutal attack that killed his wife and son. Joe is also a ninja himself which explains why he was able to come back from the dead and kill his attackers. FBI agents Mike and Emma are investigating a series of murders and they suspect that Joe might know about them. Turns out that Joe and his family were using deep fake disguises to hide their identities, I though his wife and and son were robots for a second. The fight choreography was spectacular and glad they didn't hold back on the violence. The more bloodier the better, so great direction on Sunghoo Park part. Can't wait to see the next episode. |

| That was a treat to watch. A mix of Western and Japanese styles, and with Sunghoo Park being free from MAPPA's tight scheduling, this was him at his best. Not sure if this will have too much substance outside of the fight scenes, but this could work really well. Excited for more! |

| This is one instance where I'm genuinely thankful to YouTube's algorithm for coming across this. The fight sequences are incredibly well-done and the plot seems really promising! I hope this gets approved, I'm eager to add this to my list. |

| omfg that first episode was fire, nailed the fight choreography and sakuga. in an ideal world, this is what i want the sakamoto days anime to look like. seems the story isn't gonna be too deep, but i'm fine with it if the fights at that level and we got tsuda kenjiro too. dude in the first scene cooked so hard just to get beheaded man. glad they finally added this to mal's db, i'm here for the fights and park cinema. song was gas too. |

| I couldn't care less for the story if I see action THIS good. This is must-watch for me. I just hope animators have enough money and time to consistently show fights like those. Let's just say, first few episodes are always good, it's sticking the landing that matters. |

| ayo no need to waste the entire budget on the first ep lmao save some for the rest of the season I'm guessing based on the synopsis it's gonna be a man v world type of story. initially thought that sundowner looking ass dude was gonna be the final boss (or one of the later villains) but I guess not given that he got absolutely yeeted already (unless he's somehow still alive) |

| What an episode this was, after just one episode i love everything about this show. At the start when that guy was running i thought he was gonna be the main character with how his was putting up a fight, i was very suprised when he died. Then once we cut to the actual MC, with him living the dream life with a beautiful wife and an funny kid on a farm. I thought we would have had them in the show longer but no, they get attacked and i was very suprised when they passed away. The MC went crazy at the hospital taking out all those ninjas. The animation throughout this ep was also very good and the fight scenes aswell were very nice to look at. I also want more info on those electrical mask things. Im excited to see were this show goes after one ep i have given it a 10, and may add it to my favs. This is a must watch show. |

| Already my favorite anime of the season, i mean there's not much competition and Bucchigiri is kind of a disappointment but holy shit of an intro, also the animation was porn level, please hard carry this dead ass season i beg you Also am i the only one that think his camouflage looked like the main character from Super Crooks but blond? He's almost identical and its the same seeiyu too... so strange it being so similar with different studios and directors |

| @Gavinyeet what do you mean park himself is directing it in his new studio so he has a lot of involvement on this one plus original anime usually makes the anime studio take more royalties or profit than any anime adaptation |
