Based on the background narrative, Tajiu in both the past and present is a violent individual who leads with dominance and charisma. Not a surprise that he has many followers.

Got to see some of Takashi's past too with his family.

Taiju is a bigger scumbag than I expected. But I guess being a devout Christian forgives everything, right?

Mitsuya is an interesting guy. Instead of going after the victim, he made friends with the bully Hakkai instead. That was interesting.

Looks like the main plot is finally kicking off. Can't wait.

Oh, I want to find a moment when Taiju will be alone too, but for a completely different reason...

I love the official meeting when they just casually admit about acting tough, talking about killing others when they really have no intention too, after all they're just junior high kids.

Mitsuya going to talk with Taiju, seems like both him and Hakkai have quite the family bond. Together with Takemichi and Chifuyu as tagalongs, the negotiation to get the best of both worlds is a terrifying sight. To give Hakkai to Black Dragon and Taiju to release Yuzuha, it's either an all-out war or a truce, which Taiju picked the latter. Since that option was chosen, the notion to go back to the future is there, but the risk is too great, because Takemichi did not change the future, it was Takashi. Hakkai's family is quite the devastation with Taiju being the "boss" of the family, even to his own siblings of himself and Yuzuha, taking no accounts on any promises and treating everyone the same. That's why he knew that Takashi's agreement will mean nothing to the violent older brother, that still leads to Hakkai joining the Black Dragons, and he will exact revenge on his older brother to settle his score. Takemichi's resolution: defeat the Black Dragons, and though that is a massive risk, it'll change the future for good.

Mikey taking a detour from the meeting to have a space of moment with Mitsuya, while Draken hears of Takemichi's ploy to defeat the Black Dragons, it sounds like something that'll waste their time, even if they have intentions for this. To their surprise, Kisaki wanting a hand in their plan to take down the Black Dragons as soon as possible through an internal spy figuring out Taiju's daily schedule, and Koko has them ratted out and taken over the conversation. The context: always having bodyguards on him except on Christmas where he goes to church and worships alone, Taiju himself isn't a weak character. And seeing how all of this will develop, Hakkai's aiming for the same thing as well.

The Christmas Showdown is beckoning, but what is truly on Kisaki's mind?

So where to next. Kisaki with his "hero" line from previous seasons seems to be becoming a swinging character. Going to be an interesting ride.

Kisaka gets more interesting as the series develops, and we don't know his interests or end goal yet. Is he actually the one behind Hinata's deaths?

Chifuyu understands the go-throughs of time traveling better than the traveller stupid Takemitchy lol. No wonder everything he does in past goes in vain in the end.

Also Kisaki helping out of his goodwill is an immediate red flag.

oh now i know why this is called christmas-hen something something.

still fat chance the 4 or 5 of them can take on taiju. taiju's fart is enough to throw takemitchy 10 feet away and the rest are strong but taiju is just stronger. they have a chance if others get involved to. i don't think even draken or mikey are capable to taking taiju on 1v1.

anyway looking forward to next episode.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

I guess Taiju thinks that one night of devout prayer makes up for the other 364 days of the year where he's being a complete piece of shit lol. Why's it always the devout Christians that do shit like abusing their family and gaslighting the shit out of them πŸ’€ things are starting to pick up now, and I'm sure Kisaki has some kind of ulterior motive.

There's definitely a plot twist with Kisaki coming. He says things to Takemichy in the future that make absolutely no sense, but why so obsessed with Takemichy?

Reminder that being a devout Christian doesn't mean you're a good person. In Taiju's own sick way of thinking, I'm sure it all works out.

This episode had a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" vibe. Will the 2 sworn enemies cooperate ? Will Kisaki show a different face or just show up the usual one ? Who's going to betray who ?

Lot of questions that'll be answered in the next weeks/months for sure. I like this though, interesting turn.

Some greatly unexpected alliances are forged this episode with Takemichi/Chifuyu and Kisaki/Hanma. Kisaki has something up his sleeve, he isn't being nice just because. I hope Takemichi see's through this. I wonder what they have in store for us next episode.

Taiju opens the meeting with "i'll kill you" but in the end it became a truce XD
Kisaki is so cool he should be the main character, not Takedimwitmitchy.
For 100.000 that Black Dragon guy would sell his own grandma.

Mikey indeed feels weak and unimportant in this arc, does he even care about running Toman anymore?

I don't think beating up Taiju on christmas will solve everything except they kill him without a trace leading to Toman.

this is unexpected, Kisaki (which Takemichi hated so much) is teaming up with him πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚... and as an anime only, i have the same question like Takemichi has, what is kisaki scheming about...

now this is getting more and more exciting. looking forward to next episode

To stop Kisaki, they first have to deal Taiju and Hakkai, whilst enlisting the help of Kisaki himself. Very interesting indeed. I haven't ready the manga, but if Kisaki really is the final boss (at least right now Takemichi sees it that way no doubt), shouldn't Takemichi maybe consider the fact that he's playing right into his hands, somehow?

I honestly didn't mind it at all during the first season, but now it's starting to irritate me just a little: Takemichi is really kind of slow and stupid and most of time is simply a spectator to everything happening around him, despite being the main character and the one who's supposed to fix everything. I forget his name, but give me the level of proactiveness from the guy from summertime rendering. That and maybe give this show a little more refined animation, and it'd slap pretty hard. Also maybe this won't be the case for long, but I hate how Mikey feels like a background character in this arc.

Anyway, I still enjoyed this episode quite a bit despite some minor nitpicks. But it's nothing we haven't really seen before from this series so all who are watching now more or less probably have accepted its shortcomings at this point. Besides, we get a moment that rivals even that one from a couple episodes ago, you know, the one where Takemichi sees this gang with a black "B D" on their backs with a dragon crest, but then still needs a minute to realize that they are in fact BLACK DRAGON??

And that moment would be at the very end when Kisaki asks Takemichi when would be the time most likely for Hakkai to attack Taiju, despite JUST hearing from that Black Dragon general (or captain, whatever tf the rank is called) that it's Christmas day when Taiju will be alone. Takemichi still needs a moment to process things and eventually comes to realize that it must be CHRISTMAS, when Taiju will be alone! Absolute freaking genius.

edit: also why tf did that black dragon captain offer info on Taiju so easily? Sure he got nice amount of cash for it, but does he as one of their leaders, really care about money more than black dragon itself? Maybe he really believes Taiju can handle himself no matter who comes at him, and yeah I can see that. Nonetheless, I don't see this guy potentially giving up his own gang just like that. Either it's a trap, and in fact Taiju WON'T be alone that day, or this guy has his own personal grudge against Taiju. Otherwise, it's a cheap way to move the plot forward. Not that scriptwriting was ever one of this series' strengths.
