Not as crazy as the first one, but still good nonetheless. I hope that panda is an important char tho.

Man I was stressing out a bit throughout this episode especially as they were losing all of their money but luckily the most badass maid, Ms. Ranko, brought out the gun (literally) and took care of business. It was kind of justified since the casino was cheating and that guy was a loan shark. This is one of the more unique animes I'm watching, and the combination of cute maids with violence is working.

Side note, it was funny seeing a quick peek at crab fishing at the Bering sea, reminds me of Deadliest Catch lol.

I seem to understand the formula of this show. They just take a bunch of yakuza movie and TV clichés and replace them with maids.

My enthusiasm dipped a bit after watching the second episode, there wasn't much of a riot from the first episode.
I know it's a comedy but I don't see much point in it because the protagonist had so many chances to escape, nobody forces her to stay and even so she continues to work with them, she seems very stupid to me.

Dropped… Two episodes in and the concept of the show already has run it’s course. None of the gags worked and the shock factor is gone. Once the „plot“ of the show starts, it’ll only get worse. The show would probably have profited for being a short instead of a full TV series.

You know that gag in the Office where Michael joins an improv group and when he can't think of any way to continue the scene he just manifests a gun and kills the story. Well that's what this show feels like. While the gag worked better in episode 1 (shock value) I wasn't really feeling it there either as the shock slowly faded into confusion. It all felt a bit un-motivated and random.

None of the "actors" really feel like they know why they're in the story to begin with so maybe that joke (but done with that really absurd flashy energy) is all the writers can muster? There was actually a very good gag during the end of the poker game that was genuinely funny and created a situation I was really invested in seeing the characters get out of... until they just got out of it in the most eye-roll-y "oh, it's just this joke again?" way possible.

I've seen some theories that the panda is actually the white haired girl in the OP, but this screenshot from the end of the OP might suggest that they are different people.

I want more gang stuff but this is obviously aiming for a more laid back comedy stuff. A dark comedy but still not exactly what I was expecting. However, that is my fault, and from a technical level this episode was very enjoyable. From a personal standpoint this was enjoyable. Loved the shootout!

not as great as first episode but still good (the show's debut put the plank way too high to outbeat). Just let's hope it wont fall from the cliff like zombieland saga.
After having awfull summer season with nothing to watch (maybe kumichou musume is the only show that could stay cool) the fall 2022 is more promising at least.

Summer was absolutely stacked though! Rent-a-Girlfriend, Vermeil in Gold, Call of the Night, Lycoris Recoil, Danmachi 4, A Couple of Cuckoos, My Stepmom's Daughter is My Ex, Engage Kiss, Shine Post, Extreme Hearts, When Will Ayumu Make His Move, Parallel World Pharmacy, Harem in the Labyrinth of another world, Shadows House.. I could go on and on with all the banger shows that aired over the Summer.

I guess this is a Yojimbo/A Fistful of Dollars type of story, meaning that Ranko deliberately joined this maid cafe ran by an idiotic manager so she can exact her revenge on all those responsible for killing her manager in 1985.

Maid and dark world is a very interesting combination. This second episode is a bit boring in my opinion but it helps a bit with the content of this anime, especially the manager's mouth is used to put golf balls.

I hope the dark world content in this anime will be interesting, don't use boring content like poker in this episode.

Shock value is gone now that we're on episode 2, but I still enjoyed every second of it. I genuinely feel sorry for Nagomi, finally working on a job she has been dreaming of and turns out it's a fucking battle ground.

That manager is a dipshit. Part of the plot, but still a dipshit.

I think this show has a bit of confusion as to what tone it's going for. It's like it's trying to be something like an idol anime and a Yakuza flick at the same time. It's hard to tell at this point if the deaths and shootouts and tragedies are all played for laughs or if it'll bite them in the ass later. There's going to be a real problem if they try to insert some sentimental plot moments after all this death and destruction, the kind of cognitive dissonance you get when playing GTA IV - I'm not going to feel anything when someone dies and it tries to be serious after watching so much casual carnage.

Not to say there's no way this could possibly good. I love it, and I think the silliness inherent in this sort of parody-type juxtaposition of genres is both refreshing and great fun. I can see why it might turn some people off, but if it keeps up the crime/action and doesn't make any mistakes in writing it'll be one of my favorites this season.

yeah, I totaly forgot about stepmoms daughter - great show too. everything else is literally mediocre I've watched except lycoris - this one is overhyped but worse than average show I dropped in 5 eps. the story about pharmacy boi just fell down from something promising and became meh to drop in the end.
About labyrinth - is some joke, starting as great one, then the middle parts felt like fillers and then the plot rushed in last 2 mins - u may like it because of blowjob scene, I think.

If youve gone deep in some gambling this episode was spot on with its jokes. I actually thought the first episode was just overdone and did not find it all that enjoyable but thought this episode brought a theme and put it all together. Degenerate gambling jokes and then the way shit hit the fan just like the first episode with Ranko was genius.

Maybe seeing a pattern where we pick a degenerate theme and match it with maid cafes. Instead of portraying maid cafes in a good light I think what theyre doing is actually more realistic. I got into anime around the moe era and have tried going to maid cafes during quite a few visits to Japan. I thought I could get closer to moe or understand it better but most maids are kind of clueless just doing what theyre trained, the whole act that goes on and the customers that go to these places, theres actually a lot of truth the way they portray the maid part as so ehh phoney for lack of a better word. That they married this episode with gambling is just reassuring. A show that gets degenerates is kind of rare, my mood after this week is that next week is a must watch now.
