 The official Twitter account of the Comic Meteor web magazine announced a television anime adaptation of Piroya's Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou (The Family Circumstances of the Mismatched Witches) manga on Friday. Piroya posted an illustration commemorating the announcement (pictured above). Comic Meteor began serializing the slice of life fantasy web manga in July 2018. Flex Comix published the third volume last November. The fourth volume, which goes on sale on Monday, features the anime announcement on its wraparound band. Synopsis Alyssa, a witch who lives alone in the forest, picks up a human baby one day. Despite her confusion, Alyssa named the baby Viola and decided to raise her. 16 years later, Viola had not only grown into a daughter who adores Alyssa, but also into a woman of exceptional proportions, and the people around them mistook Viola for Alyssa's mother. A slice of life told by a mother and daughter who were inverted in appearance and full of gags! Parent and child deliver a hilariously funny comedy! We are just talking about these shows, and in them the romance was conceived from the very beginning. Especially in that fantasy one. Piroya is not Takato Rui or the author Akame (forgot his name) to do works yuri, ignoring any logic of the plot. |

| I know this is probably a translation from someone else since I'm seeing it everywhere, but "Unreliable Witch" seems like a bad translation.;; The idea is that the tall one is the child and the short one is the parent-- "大きい娘と小さい母" to quote directly. So big daughter and little mother. That being said, it's more like "mismatched witches" or "unbalanced/imbalanced/uneven witches", not "unreliable witch". The Family Circumstances of the Mismatched Witches would probably be a little better, though not perfect. Additionally, there's nothing notably unreliable about either of them, so that title in English doesn't even really make sense.;; Hopefully, folks will have a better translation for the title later. Anyway, the manga is cute and I really look forward to the anime! I honestly never thought it'd get an anime! I'm also excited to see the phoenix in action. lol |
