Lol, I'm stuck on Android 7 so I will continue to use web ver. Upd2. Due to high demand, I hope devs team will consider adding support the lesser versions of Android someday. But.. Looks like it's not app, but completely WebView mask. There are no OAuth authorization, but notify about cookies and reCAPTCHA. No smooth UX inherent to native apps. I'm glad to be wrong. I'm glad. I hope this app will have a great future. Since I'm not good at English, I just quote a user with I fully agree. marcospampixxx said: Well... I must be clear, you're wasting resources and time. I am a full stack developer and I know when an application is made using Ionic or any webview wrapper, and I find this wrong in 2020. The reason I think so is due to Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) being way more flexible and convenient: 1. PWAs must be single page web apps. 2. PWAs can be installed by the browser, they can work offline so. 3. PWAs do have enough freedom. 4. One codebase for all, no filthy fees over stores, instantly updated. While I've been objective untill now, personally, I'm upset with apps being just webviews, they usually take more space, and are slow as hell on older devices.. I hope these words may interests MAL's devs. ![]() Modified by grin3671, Nov 10, 2020 5:49 AM |
Just tried the android app. Looks good but takes a few more seconds to get the data. Especially love the addition of statistics in the anime page. ![]() |
Thanks! This app is very nice looking and helpful. I am a big fan of the home page and the updates it has ^^ ![]() So, you were running away. And you rejected the others around you, so there was no chance that you would ever be hurt. Kaworu Nagisa |
The long awaited app is finally here -,- I really like the app interface...but it works kinda slow. I'm not sure if it's because of my internet connection or smth else ![]() Modified by azra_02, Nov 3, 2020 8:56 PM |

Pretty nice to have it after the delay, already having issues with it but im sure all will be resolved in time. ![]() |

I've been using it on my IOS for a while now, I'd say it's good. It's missing some features that the web browser has. looking forward to updates! ![]() |
I Agree, it would be great if there was a dark mode. My advice, which is to be able to see other users profiles in the application, and that's all from me. I am using the ios version, btw ![]() Modified by Shirase-san, Nov 3, 2020 10:12 PM |
I install the app... And it's looks good.. User friendly interface and all... But the thing is it's kinda slow I know for sure that my internet connection is fine.. so yeah that's that... Overall it's a good app..👍👍🥰🥰 ![]() |
YESS ITS hERe I hope they get dark mode soon ![]() |
Thx God i can just download the app via google play, n don't need to install it via apk 😆 But i most probably will never use the app until it has the same or more capabilites than the web version... 😋 ![]() |
Will you guys make available the apk too or on Huawei app gallery ? Some people don't have Google play 😶 ![]() |

Very good app so far. It's a bit buggy sometimes, but it's understandable. I've only been using it for a couple minutes but here are the most important things that I feel are missing : .the ability to click on a show's poster and see it fullscreen(the images could be higher res too) .being able to search your list .We need an in app browser or have the news feature, the episode discussions feature and all features that take you to your browser Integrated with the app (don't know if that's possible but that would be nice) A in app browser would do it honestly - don't wanna get taken out to my web browser everytime I click on a news or when i want to discuss an episode. It'd be nice to have an option to filter the news/stats/articles with read and unread so I can choose weather I want to see everything or if I just want to see unread stuff . And finally, but one of the most important things for me is i want to see a forums section. I spend a lot of time on forums, sometimes just scrolling through, others I engage with posts, point being is i really like to spend time on these forums. All of them, the general anime and manga forums and the specific discussion for a series ones(i forget what it's called). But yeah super important future that is missing. All in all it's a great app so far, but it has the potential to be much better. Also now that I'm thinking about it maybe your profile should be the home screen and the current home screen should be moved to where the profile is now. another user commented below about an option to choose the starting home screen. This would be good. Better than forcibly changing the home screen to your profile That's it for me for now, I'll post new replies as time goes on. After using the app on Android 9 for a bit, here is some feedback. I only really care about the list feature and entry pages and I'm basically completely ignorant on software development, so besr with me. First of all, the app timeouts at times and it's not my connection. Especially when visiting the tabs the first time I had to restart the app or refresh for stuff to appear. Weirdly enough, my list got loaded even though it said timeout. On the point of the list, for some reason it refreshes everytime I go to a category of the list. I guess it's to look for changes but wouldn't it be better to refresh once for all categories? Especially since the All category gets refreshed too. I noticed this also happens with all the other tabs, which makes the app overall less smooth. I'm not sure how this works so I'm going to describe this in noob terms but it seems like accessing Notifications overlays the app with a page? Maybe someone else can comment on this better but it feels clunky, if that's the right word. Another feature that might be a good idea to implement is the option to pick a default tab/menu the app starts on, like directly showing the list when starting the app. Not the highest priority but might be a good idea to implement. One small criticism for the anime pages: separating lines to distinguish the different sections like description, reviews etc. would do a lot for visibility. Also, maybe it's just me, but aren't the cover images low res? Everything else is fine. The only big problems imo are the issues with timeouts and refreshes (maybe those aren't even refreshes but look like that). I forgot to add that it's a good idea to seperate iOS and Android versions even if it means more effort simply because the app feels incomplete in terms of the database, if you exclude the culturally significant artpieces from search. Not to mention that not an insignificant portion of the userbase watches those anime. ![]() Modified by boii, Nov 4, 2020 1:16 AM |
So far I've been absolutely enjoying the app. I find it even better than the 2018 beta app I'd been using. Although, I'd like to suggest that a tag which shows the status of the anime/manga in my list (similar to the small bookmark-like tags of colors indicating whether the I'm watching/planned/put on hold/dropped/completed the anime/manga, in the old app) is visible on the cover/key visual of every anime/manga seen in the search section, so it's convenient and avoids unnecessary steps and double-checking. Other than that, I've noticed some jumping in the list when I'm scrolling my list, when it refreshes the list every time I exit out of an anime page, for some reason. But nonetheless, the team has done a pretty good job with this app, this time around and I'm looking forward to more features (especially manga database) being added to the app to make it a full fledged experience. Thanks! ![]() Modified by Vishal_Nikam, Nov 4, 2020 2:23 AM |
