| A Certain Scientific Railgun T is the best anime of this year. It has the best animation in the franchise. The story for both arcs are great. The openings were both bangers. Also it is the show I enjoyed watch most this year. Edit: As far as non-sequel anime I haven't seen Great Pretender yet but have only heard amazing things about it but I can't speak for it. My number 1 non-sequel anime is Ishuzoku Reviewers it was number 1 here on MAL for a reason. |

| I hated almost every anime I watched from this year, the one I liked the most was probably Magia Record... which honestly speaks more about the quality of the rest of the anime from this year than MR itself lol. |

| Great Pretender is the most serious contender for the AOTY imo, and for the sequels it would be either Kaguya-sama S2 or Re:Zero S2 (Dorohedoro and Eizouken are also great) |

| I imagine most people will choose Re:Zero, but I personally don't like it. If we are counting sequels, I would pick Kaguya-Sama S2, if not I would pick Eizouken. I haven't watched Great Pretender, so I don't have an opinion on it. |

| Three quarters into 2020 and Kaguya-sama S2 is easily the AOTY. Great Pretender and Dorohedoro for honorable mentions. Not sure if any titles from Fall 2020 could be strong contenders as most of 'em were pushed to next year. ig Jujutsu Kaisen and Akudama Drive are some shows to look out for. |

| Only two anime crossed my 8/10 threshold in 2020 so far, Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na and Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai?: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen. Runner ups Dorohedoro and Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen 2nd Season. That's all above 7/10, it was a lousy year so far. |

| AOTY that's not from a recurring title? Kinda unlikely. Most of the returnees have been established shows in the past few years so I'm almost expecting them to hog the top lane while other original shows fight somewhere down the ladder. Personal AOTY would be Deca-Dence though. |

| aside from the sequels this year is pretty much a flop, for new anime i'd say eizouken and dorohedoro(both of which i didn't finish but are good as far as i watched) |

| Personally, Eizouken by a fair bit. Kaguya S2 was also fantastic, but Eizouken is just better to me and nothing this season is coming close to that, and I don't see much that I think will compete next season (although I'd love to be wrong) |
