The second MAL Live event has just been announced! TV Anime Carole & Tuesday will have its third live event "Mother" on January 18 at Live Cube Shibuya in Tokyo—and MAL Live will be streaming it to the world the morning after the event.
No purchases are required to watch; all you need is a MyAnimeList account. If you would like to support the creators and artists, party items will be available for purchase.
The video quality will be improved from the last live event and full screen mode has been added to the mobile experience. We are hoping full screen will be added to the desktop version before the event, but are unable to guarantee it at this time.
We appreciate everyone's feedback on our first MAL Live event last month. I'm looking forward to everyone having the ability to watch our next completely free! As Kineta said, I hope to see you there!
Hmm, I didn't realize it isn't. The page tells me Opera isn't supported, but I click okay and it works anyway :'D I had no trouble watching the last live with Opera. Did you try one of the free streams back then?

I get this notification on mallive.co. I didn't have time for one of the streams in November but I'll try this one. Maybe it's like you said and it doesn't matter?
Excited that it’s being done for free!!! I skipped the last one only because a payment was required, would have been something for a Friday afternoon. Maybe if it becomes paid again, I’ll have to pay in someday.. recording, maintenance, bandwidth all doesn’t come for free..

I watched the first live and it didn't work in Firefox. Would load the page, but the stream wouldn't start. Had to scramble and download Chrome real fast.
That was fun. Watched it on my Android phone and it only froze once. Restarting the app solved the problem easily. The only other minor issue was the comments being stuck from that point on. Definitely would watch a similar concert again.
First off, I don't know much about anything that you use one MAL Live to make things work, so I'm just gonna say directly what I think even if some things can't be changed.
This one was kinda surprising to me honestly, because I don't think that playing the songs of the anime before the concert was that much of a great idea, since we were already there for that.
Plus it kept looping back which started to be annoying at some point, and ruined the fun of some songs during the concert itself because we heard it 10 times before the concert.
The fanarts were nice, even if it felt a little bit too "Powerpoint Slideshow", I know it doesn't have to be the most extravagant thing ever, but it still would be nice if it was at least a little more stylish.
Talking about editing, you showed the banner for the concert with a prize to win, the blue background was edited to replace some text in from what I could see, but it wasn't even the same kind of blue, making it very cheap to look at.
For that part I don't have much to say honestly, it was very nice to watch, the songs were nice, even if I never saw the anime or even heard one of the songs before, it was a very good experience overall.
The only real thing I saw people being mad about is the parts with the seiyuus, which I thought was a nice touch to add a bit of life and pace to the show.
I honestly think that this is one of the worst video players I've seen for streams.
It does the jobs well, we can see the stream very correctly and without problems... but that's about it, we don't have any kind of basic options, be it a slider for the volume, which is extraordinarily loud.
There was also a lot of people asking where the fullscreen button was, which I think would be a nice addition too, or at least a button to change the size of the player, because there's a lot of space that is lost on the sides. At some point, in the chat, someone even sent a code to put the livestream in fullscreen, which worked.
There was also the problem with the rainbow "pixi" bar flashing non-stop for a good parrt of the show, but that was fixed at some point.
And even when it was fixed it almost made my browser crash and I had to F5 the page because everything froze except the stream.
Also, under the stream, the box with the users waving glowsticks and other emotes, I understand the concept, but it has a major problem I think.
Since it represents the users, why are all the images just random ? It's not even profile picture from people, not even yours is your profile picture.
But it does it's job at showing the hype with everybody spamming the emotes.
I think for me, as well as some other people I saw in the chat, it is confusing.
For every streaming site ever, the chat read from up to down, and yet, here you read it from down to up.
I was also wondering if there were moderators in chat ? Because at some point we had some spammers that kinda ruined the ambiance.
Of course some were spamming for the hype with flames, diamonds, and gusts of winds, which is correct, but some people intentionally spammed just to annoy people and flood the chat with a useless amount of emotes.
I thing most people will agree with me on that one, it was the most annoying thing in the whole event.
At some point it was fixed, which is nice, because people were already sending ways of deleting it in the chat.
So I thought that all was nice since it was fixed and, well, problems can happen, so I wasn't angry about it.
But then came the gigantic fullscreen emoteswhich covers everything, over the stream, wouldn't it be fine if it was just over the other emotes under the video player ?
It was okay with the firework because you could see through, but the one with the four characters from the show was too much, we couldn't see anything of the show, which is why we are here in the first place.
So, being the good maller that I am, I'd give it a 6/10, could be better, could be worst, but still enjoyed the ride =w=
