Synopsis

It has been 50 years since mankind began its migration to the terraformed Mars, where they live in comfort due to advancements in AI. Carole lives in the metropolis of Alba City, working part-time by day and playing keyboard by night. Tuesday has run away from her home in Hershell City to escape the grip of her wealthy family, and instead hopes to pursue music with her acoustic guitar.

After a fateful encounter, the two decide to perform music together. Up against the AI singers that dominate the music world, the two of them believe that together they can convey their feelings through their songs. Will hard work and luck be enough for the duo to create the biggest miracle that Mars has ever seen?

Simultaneously among the worst things Watanabe has ever directed, while still being a boundlessly heartwarming and optimistic parable about the timeless power of music. With every passing year Watanabe’s notion about the value of the human element in the creation of art becomes more relevant, with the ominous possibility of Carole and Tuesday’s dystopian AI-dominated music industry becoming more and more plausible. I do think it’s a little ironic that in spite of this messaging, about 70% of the series’s song catalogue feels like it was written by an algorithm, but perhaps that was intentional, as the music of the main duo does generally serve ...

Mixed Feelings
This show made me realize that I love anime centered around music and bands. It is a powerful emotional tool after all. ''The Lonliest Girl'' made me fall in love with this show. The music is simply beautiful. Sometimes melancholic, and sometimes really inspirational. You'll be listening to the soundtrack for weeks after you finish it, and the best part is, you'll keep reliving the same emotions over and over.

A touching tale of two strangers who slowly grow to work together as a team to make their biggest dreams come true. The animation leans more on the realism side than the usual cutsey anime girl ...

Geez, this one turned into a mess.

STORY:
Tuesday runs away from home because she feels suffocated or something. She finds Carole, the black girl, and they become a singing duo, blah blah blah. It's very "Hallmark" in many ways. The story is boring and there are many plot holes and dumb political bullshit that didn't need to be put in here. Clearly people don't like Trump, or at least these Japanese people dont and it shows. There's also dumb crap about how black people are oppressed on Earth because they can't come to Mars or some crap like that. It's really dumb BLM shit that shouldn't ...
