What are you on about? Anime always shows the USA as the bad guys. This whole situation is preposterously overblown.

Didn't watch really animes where US is involve, so apologizes if it wasn't clear!

Umerica strikes again. I wonder why they usually put them on the bad side.

Brain and Brawl headed banter is just fun to watch

Never thought, violently choking someone is rape.

"There's no way they're gonna login with password protected super accounts in human empire..." ...Unprotected password accounts in Dark side logins xD

SuperAccounts/Gods descended in the under world. I wonder how's the citizens' reactions.

Man, Sinon's still got some violent PTSD going on there. She really needs to play a different game so she'll stop dreaming of getting strangled by every guy that beats her in a gunfight.

And am I the only one seeing Vixur and Lipia as literally the Dark Territory versions of Bercouli and Fanatio?

Everybody complaining bout other things but the one thing that pisses me off more then anything is the fact that they did the Sao team part waaaayy too early. This part wasn't in this arc until the third book.................at the very end of that novel.

I find it hard to believe a bunch of gamers were able to beat out a group of guards that protect a top secret project.

I mean the shows been okay so far, but I guess SAO's gotta be SAO with those weird moments that sometimes defy extend past the spectrum of what's believable or not.

Also I find it hard to believe those guys didn't set a password for some of the most broken character logins allowing the bad dudes the log in. Just some plot conveniences to advance the story I guess.

They aren't just a bunch of gamers. They're all militar people and just play VRMMORPG on GGO.
That's where I gotta call bs on that one. There was a line from the programmer dude in the episode where he said the only gun they ever held were polygons, implying that they haven't shot anything real outside of GGO.

Not gonna lie, the pacing has been a little too slow these first 3 episodes. Especially for a 12 episode season.

This episode was just an info dump and the only exciting thing was Asuna and the military dudes logging in. Hope it picks up from next week.

This was actually a nice episode. It was only a matter of time before this becomes a battle in the Underworld from the real world lol. Looks like Computer nerd in the base, what was his name again, has his own secrets, that he doesn't want others to know. Now the enemies are going to be able to log in using an Emperor and a Dark Knight from the other side. I just hope that Asuna dives in with a High Ranking position.

It is also good to see from the Dark Territory's perspective, especially the Humans residing there. That guy in the end was actually a sensible person even if he's from the dark territory, vying for peace and all. But his plan for peace is about to get foiled.

Anyway, good episode. 5/5

So tell me why the heck all the high level accounts of human side is locked but then the highest rank of dark territory accounts not locked too?

So it's ok for random people to log into the highest dark side rank account to mess around huh? What a stupid and convenient writing as usual from SAO.

The first and second episode of "villagers are all bad guys/ massive dick because reasons" and "Alice can't use her power because reason, opps, she can use all her power all along, she just wants to roleplay as a bullied girl" scenario is dumb as hell too.

Seriously SAO try to be sooo serious in its setting and characters, but the presentation, the logic, the writing, the character, the portray of villains are just so insultingly dumb..

I'm not trying to be overly critical, but when a serie trying to take itself too seriously yet its presentation fail to live up to all the seriousness, I find that my IQ got insulted and it's hard for me to rate it any higher than 6. This has been true for almost every SAO series, including the movie.

I personally thought this eps is just above decent.

We meet Gabriel Miller and his crew, whose objective is to take over "STL Technology" without displaying the appearance of the States (i do not know what I'm talking about here xD)

But, we've got Asuna on her way logging into Underworld to wake Kirito up, which is gonna be something in the next eps.

And, i'm really looking forward to seeing some "drama" with her and Alice :))

Let's find it out next week.

Okay the plan for everyone to dive in on super accounts was cool especially going to the dark side and seeing that they arent just goblins and what not. Perhaps we already knew they werent all goblins there though.

Wish they did english for the america invaders, Also, still dont understand why Asuna's communication capabilities weren't blocked on the turtle, perhaps thats why the NSA found the turtle's location in the first place, lol.

.... Critter was talking about Vasago as he was discussing with him on this very episode and talking down on him, which Vasago is a beginner soldier and was a VRMMORPG player in the past.

Also, Gabriel is literally a CEO of a company which is military and who does those kind of services. I'm not saying those things to you based on speculation, I'm saying this because I read the original and this was literally on today's episode.

My goodness my heart is not ready for what's about to happen.
What's about to happen is going to be epic. Everyone is about to get involved somehow someway in this conflict of intelligence, romance, and knowing what the hell is righteousness.
Wonderful to see Asada/Sinon. Almost thought we were back in We Never Learn in that scene and then the GGO is there.
It sucks that Agil/Andrew didn't speak in this episode but he's here! Yay!
My goodness the US is involved in this. Hey who told them to spend my tax dollars on this operation?! Oh yeah the military industrial complex, which whether in a Sanders Administration, Warren Administration, a Pence administration or a Drumpf administration, will be active and looking to cause harm to our precious humanity but dammit we will fight them because its worth fighting for.
Hot damn. I'm so excited to see Asuna as a goddess cause, just like my Bestie Natasha from Michigan, she is a goddess. Woooo!

This was the best episode of Alicization so far! I loved the artwork and the technological talk, and that two members of the raiding part are diving into Underworld as well as Asuna - wow, that Miller is an SOB but it will be an interesting dynamic to see him as an adversary, and as an Emperor of the Dark Territory no less! Also, what was that ominous dream that Sinon had? I can't wait to find out more about it! This is getting a provisional 9/10 from me and I think it bodes well for what's to follow - I think Alicization is finally living up to the hype and my high expectations for it :D

Stupid comment. Saber may have been inspired from Agrias since FFT was 1998 and FSN was 2004, but every other clone after that have all been Saber clones. Nobody in the 2000s is gonna give a shit about some 1998 character, everybody by this point knows who Saber is and is one of the most popular characters in anime and in Japan. So every blonde haired, sword wielding girl knight these days is a mother fucking saber clone.

Violet evergarden is also a saber clone, you gonna tell me she was also inspired by Agrias? I fucking doubt it.

Alice was created as a character at the same time as Saber, so yes, it's much more likely for her to be inspired by Agria than by a character from a visual novel which Kawahara never has been a fan of the genre and at the same time, he created her on the same time period.
Thank you. I hate so many SAO fans that are completely clueless about when it was actually created and written and even why. I do miss when this series was just some random free to read story online as an alternative to Dot Hack before Kawahara made changes to it and started actually selling it (nothing against the man making his hustle work for him. I just hate the current fanbase).

Didn't expect to see a lord of dark territory wanting to negotiate piece with human empire, and even ask Lipia for be his wife, what a guy! looks like there is good people in dark territory!

Can't wait to see Asuna in the Underworld and team up with Alice.

It's literally the same guy as the one who's leading the attack on the Ocean Turtle. She also mentioned in the very first episode last season that she wanted Kirito and Asuna to help her take on this Subtilizer guy who completely shat on her in the last tournament.

She had a nightmare about that event in that tournament. It wasn't a dream. That literally happened.

The first and second part, Kikuoka actually gives zero shits to both sides. In a way they were meant to play around until they get the perfect military AIs they want. Besides, they never have been invaded before, so this must have slipped their minds to put extra passwords. It was also mentioned last season that there was likely a traitor in their midst.

For the third part, you must understand that the AIs are all still imperfect. Their judgement and sense of right and wrong still flawed, they have no empathy and were created this way. Alice had to hide her powers because she is on the run from the empire.

Or as TV Tropes brings up some Fridge Brilliance and Horror:

“All of this act just prove one thing. All the Fluclights that took form as human beings in Underworld were completely corrupted with their personalities. Technically, they are just heartless beings with no kindness and no mind to think at all. Even the parents acted like that towards their own children and continues this cycle eternally. This all happens because one of the earlier users, which Asuna passed by an unknown staff at Ocean Turtle nurtured his descendants in underworld to create an order that separates nobles and bluntly servants with wicked personalities. In time, all of that give birth to Quinella and the residents become unable to act on their own beliefs, being heartless and do not even consider each other's circumstances when in trouble. It is no wonder Alice felt rather reluctant to fight for them and Cardinal wanted to delete the whole Underworld in the first place. They took things for granted. And yes, most people might say, serves them right for those corrupted people to die in torture in the hands of a heartless monsters from Dark Territory had the leader of the Integrity Knights had a sane mind and sense of justice to protect them. Simply saying, Project Alicization was a huge failure in terms of replicating the good nature of humans to most of the civillians.”

That episode was quite info dump heavy, 8 minutes of Vilains dialogues, could be quite boring. It make me laugh when they said only forgiveness could wake up Kirito from his vegetable state, he is better like that. It is good to see Alice have a major role in those 2 previous episodes role and later I hope but of course it had to mostly be center around Kirito.
I wonder who could be the little girl that the main villain saw before diving, connect to his real story? I am the only one a little bother at first by the humans looking people from the Dark Territory, I though it was suppose to be only monsters! The 2 new characters really look like those from the Integrity Knight, and seem already likable for me! Also the Lisa Song is really good for the ear, must be so far one of my favorite songs from her, really like the Chinese Instrumental and Auto-Tune at the end.
SAO is still bad as a literature piece but I am hype for the rest! And did they take the place of the Emperor/Dark Knight or are they only class with no soul?

Completely unironically, I don't get the hate for the rapey/fanservicey stuff in SAO. It's as if anime was a completely chaste medium that strayed away from anything remotely controversial until SAO came along and defiled its purity. Oh, wait.

I like SAO for what it is, perverse events and all. I really do. The perverse events that the females undergo is in part fan-service for the audience, but a safe one at that, precisely because they know that Kirito will come in and rescue them at the end. In this respect, they can then enjoy the scene from a multitude of perspectives. They can put themselves in the villain's shoes and experience subjugating the female characters and they can see themselves as the hero that saves the girl at the end. In a way, the girls' purity remaining intact at the end only serves to facilitate the abuse without ruining the character for both Kirito and the fans. It's having the cake and eating it. For what it is, it's brilliant.

I actually enjoyed this episode quite a lot. The thematic concerns and choreography was on point, and the plot seems a bit darker this season, which I like.

Hmmmh. I'm not really pumped by the idea of the actual main cast to finally invade the Underworld. I mean, the reason why I like Alicization so much is the lack of previous cast, ha. Still wish someone will just make a NonNon Biyori kind of anime with Alice, Kirito and Eugeo tbh lol. Honestly, SAO is really amazing in a way that it's literally the only franchise that can manage to make me hate the whole original cast and favoring 3 kids who only appear for like, 3 eps in the whole series

Ah well. I just hope they won't ruin the whole thing with some overpower bs. And I hope the Underworld cast will still be the main lead. Like, the season in named The War of the Underworld. It'd be a bummer if they end up leaving everything to people who aren't part of the world itself.

Anyway to all the people who insist that there's no 'rape' ever happen in the franchise, you guys know that rape doesn't have to include penetration, right? The definition on the damn thing is unwanted sexual assault, dude. You don't even need a second to google that.

Rape and sexual assault are two different things and yes, rape only means penetration, the rest are abuse or sexual assault. I'm a lawyer kiddo, I work with it.

> It'd be a bummer if they end up leaving everything to people who aren't part of the world itself.

Like Kirito himself. lmao dude, I wish I could spoil everything to you, but maybe you should already see that the situation is in need for people to enter on the underworld with the antagonists entering to pick up alice, kirito in that state, alice being targeted, the own underworld about to be destroyed and somehow Asuna can't enter it for you. lol it wouldn't make any sense for her to not enter.

Yes, I'm aware of that (the Underworld and outside intervention part), doesn't mean I have to like it tho. As I said, I mainly enjoy Alicization for the lack of the original main cast, that's why I'm not exactly pumped to see them again. Of course I realized that Kirito is part of the original main cast itself, but honestly, at least to me, he behave so differently compared to how he is on other seasons, so I enjoyed seeing him on this arc more. Kinda feels like seeing him as a difderent cast honestly.

Also, to clarify, I said 'leaving everything'. I want the Alicization cast to still have their spotlight, not getting side stepped when the original main cast arrive in the Underworld.

As for the rape/sexual assault definition, I have to apologize. It seems like the definition of the words are different, because here in my country, rape is defined as any sexual act done without consent. I worked on medical field and I have to deal with legal paperwork for those cases, so I do know my stuff too. But it looks like the definition of the word are simply different on different place, so that one's on me.

How those people even come with shit like this. lol Sometimes I wish that LN and manga didn't get adaptations, because my god, I have to read some of the most bizarre things that I never read on their original format by anime only people. It's like female characters never were killed in anime (and in this case, on a VRMMORPG GGO in a tournament, which the game has a pain inhibitor unlike in project Alicization)

Welcome to western anime fans. You just can't win against these guys. If she didn't get hurt, people would complain about mary sue.

it's bizarre that we're on such point

If this episode is used to explain the enemies' rationale, it is nothing more than filler.

To risk this, Asuka would risk her life at the expense of the STL being in its final stages...so other than to rescue Alice, there isn't much incentive.

I'm gonna guess that Sinon's encounter with the same enemy (that's attacking the Ocean Turtle now) is something of note, but not really sure what to make of it now.

Lots of plotholes here and there, just really wanting to know what's going on.
