Background: I was 1st year in high school and wasn't well versed in sex and in porn. My friends (bless their souls) introduced me to some vanilla hentai like Renketsu Houshiki Episode 1 and several vanilla porn. Then I got introduced to Helter Skelter Episode 1 and the concept of anal and DP for the first time. Let's just say I was changed.

If you get PTSD from fictional stuff, you are taking it too seriously just saying.

I can relate to this. Even if i watched something that was really depressing, i usually just get over it in the next few minutes because it's something fictional, i just can't see myself taking it so seriously.

The ending to School Days legit disturbed me like nothing before. I watched the whole series in one go one day and totally didn't see that end coming. I couldn't think about anything else for a whole week. I was relatively new to anime at the time...

I think sayin an anime gave you PTSD is a little much, that being said after finishing Banana Fish I felt really awful for about 2 days.

PTSD is too strong of a term but each episode of Shigurui gives me some kind of mental shock.

That's a good one.. damn..

For me it's was the final ep of Made in Abyss. God, every scene with Mitty is going to be gut wrenching on the rewatch.

I also want to throw in the nail yanking scene in Higurashi. That shit is timeless and absolutely traumatizing.

the final scene in non non biyori repeat, except kind of unironically (obviously not actual ptsd) because i can't even get two minutes into rewatching a non non biyori episode without crying, so i can't rewatch the show at all. i have no clue what i'm going to do once the non non biyori movie is watchable...

The most recent one would be on THAT scene on Island.

Feels like FBI are watching at me when I saw that. I've played the game but seriously they weren't explicit... I just truly couldn't unsee THAT scene.

Haruhi's endless summer arc. Seriously, they copy and paste for a good few episodes then yuki is the only one that notices they've been in a mobious loop for thousands of rotations, then they proceed to repeat the same episodes for a bit longer leading to a few thousand more rotations. I mean my god make new content or just end!

I second the sentiment of steins;gate, pretty much what ptsd is, mentally being in the same situation, knowing it's traumatic end and trying to change it within the exact same parameters,
the definition of insanity being to try the exact same thing the exact same way and expect different results.

Pretty much any adaption of VNs with a hefty amount of branching endings that try to cover every route can simulate ptsd, though I don't feel that way about higurashi s1, it's arcs just really feel more like an anthology series that just happens to use the same characters and locations

This might not be what you all would think and PTSD would be an overstatement but it's got to be the scene in Black Lagoon:Second Barrage where Revy shows the kids how people really fall when they're shot. Had to pause the video and get a glass of water lol.

I don't think there's a problem with taking anime seriously. There's nothing wrong with becoming emotionally invested in something you love.

Also just...the entirety of Death Note. That show hurt me so badly. I can't even think about it or do anything remotely related to it. That show definitely gave me something close to resembling actual PTSD

Not sure if PTSD but definetly.

Macross...alot of it :> three main scenes I can think of there. Ending, final fight against main battlefleet, and death of that char midway through, probably helped I was a kid when i watched that so wasn't expecting that level of maturity from a "Cartoon' heh.

For a actual cartoon, death of optimus prime in transformers the movie...come on go to see a exciting action movie staring my favorite transformers and then kill off half of them including the main one?

whenever a character says something like: I'll confess after this or
wait for me, I'll come back or I'll return that kiss 100 times.
I know something sad will happen, not sure if ptsd or not but I get a little sad myself
if I like the characters.

Made in Abyss taught me that elevators are tragic places.

D.Gray-man Hallow was a PTSD as a whole.

Also I'm still scared to finish Banana Fish, but since I have to work Monday again, I'll finally do it at the weekend.

And jerking off next to a comatose girl definitely is something... you will remember.

Not to the point of actual PTSD, but Caster's entrance scene in Episode 2 of Fate/Zero. That scene almost gave me nightmares and I wished I could unsee it.

Help, I'm hooked into the Fate series (not all) and am obsessed with Shirou x Saber!
Also, forever hoping for a ufotable remake of the Fate route!
