The February 2018 issue of Shinchosha's Monthly Comic@Bunch magazine has announced on Thursday that Junya Inoue's Btooom! manga will end in four chapters. The May 2018 issue of the magazine will publish the final chapter in March. The manga has previously announced that it has reached the final arc in 2014.

The psychological-action manga series began its serialization in Weekly Comic Bunch magazine in July 2009, before transferring as a monthly-releasing manga in January 2011. The series has released 24 compiled manga volumes, with the latest shipped on September 8. A 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Madhouse aired in Fall 2012.

Yen Press publishes the manga in English and plans to release the 20th volume on February 27 next year. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North American distribution and released it in a Blu-ray and DVD volume in December 2013.

Four years+ in final arc. Imagine if OP ever announces final arc. I think that will last for 22 years or something.

Nice, time to pick up the manga again next year. (I stopped at Chapter 88 last year.)
Though I like it to at least reach 10 years. Oh well I guess, I will just wait for another work of him. (please make another one!)

Btooom! is a monthly manga, so it's not surprising that the final arc is going on for years.

Meh, this manga has dragged far enough. Not surprising it's ending soon but I'm actually glad it's coming to a close.

Too bad, I remember watching the anime for it when it was airing, it wasn't half bad.

Will pick up the manga when it finishes, and gets translated until the end hopefully.

It is about time to see it end. i always wanted to know what would happen to the people who sent them to that island ..By that i mean the ones who signed them up for it like the mc mother and those girls who got raped.

i would imagine both of those mc will have something to say when they get back.

It is about time. The manga is good but they are reaching a bit in places and the story went all over the place a few times. Not good for a multi-pov story.

Let things die while they are still good reads.

There is about a 2% possibility that they adapt a completed Manga into an anime.
Just think of it - how many completed manga got an anime adaptation in the last 2 years? All i think is parasyte from 2014.

You forgot Ushio and Tora, Orange, ERASED, Kuzu no Honkai, etc. and just recently Inuyashiki?
Parasyte was old and finished years ago. F.Y.I. BTOOOM! and Parasyte are made by MadHouse.

I use to read this manga a few years ago, but felt like it dragged on when it teased it could possibly end. Now that it's actually coming to an end it makes me feel a lot better knowing that if I start it again that I know when it'll end proper.

Unlike those series Btooom was never popular in Japan to begin with. Manga sales aside, the anime sold terribly.

It got so terrible after the anime that I dropped and sold vol 1-18 to some guy in Finland. Drawn out to the point the writing left Ryouta doing "beep-vweep" noises, sure he was playing the game, and with a subplot involving his step-father taking on the Illuminati.

TLTR: You REALLY don't want S2 of the anime.
