Victim of Cyberbullying Pornstar August Ames Commits Suicide After Being Accused of Being Homophobic
An adult film star who starred in almost 290 movies has died at the age of 23. August Ames, who was from Nova Scotia in Canada, reportedly died in Camarillo, California on Tuesday morning. The exact cause of death currently remains unknown but police have said there is no indication of foul play, according to the Evening Standard. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Ames, whose real name is Mercedes Grabowski, had passed away but did not give a cause. It is feared Ames may have taken her own life. Her husband, Kevin Moore, is said to have expressed his sadness and asked for privacy. He reportedly said: “She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me. Please leave this as a private family matter in this difficult time." To play devil's advocate a bit, she could have easily just rejected the role for that reason and kept it to herself and there wouldn't have been any issues. Instead she went out of her way to try and discourage the person who took the role or anyone considering it which I think is what drew more backlash in the way it was phrased. Even if she was being genuine in her concern for the replacement she probably could have just seen who it was and sent them a private message versus calling it out publicly. Or even from a different stance she could have actively taken up issue with her agent in person to make sure it doesn't happen again but instead turned it into a public display. |

In fact I believe this is even the case for strippers (at least in full nude clubs) because infections can spread via the pole. There are many other cases of people committing suicide because of online bullying, some people just don't know when to stop. One day you may find yourself in a situation where you are the one responsible for making someone commit a suicide. |

The messed up thing is that people are basically politicizing her death to bully another group of people. I'd imagine the recent events have just been the tipping point after her long struggle with depression (Judging by the tweets in the last page), sad to see she couldn't find help before it was too late. |
