| Probably right now since there's so much of it that it's hard not find at least a few shows you like each season. Even if there's there's a slew of stuff I don't like/isn't in my preferred genre, I still have enough good shit to keep me occupied. I'm a newer anime fan so I'm a little biased, but that also means I don't have nostalgia goggles on anything. |

| The OVA boom (80's-90's) I would say was the best era for anime because it had better fanservice, stoytelling imo and had a more serious and dark feel than the modern anime era, it also had more female characters with noses and lips. Favorites from this era are Black Jack 1993 OVA, Dallos, Rurouni Kenshin Trust and Betrayal, Armitage III, Megazone 23, Riding Bean, Bubblegum Crisis. |

| Summer 2014. Black Bullet, No Game No Life, Isshukan Friends, Tokyo Ghoul, Zankyou no Terror, Tokyo ESP. Definitely a season I enjoyed the most. But for personal desires. Summer 2015. Because High School DxD BorN. High School DxD is the anime I've enjoyed the most and will continue to enjoy. My favorite one. A masterpiece. |

| In Japan the "Anime Boom" that started in early 80's is typically referred to as the golden age of animation. That's not to say they are the best, but more that it was the time when animes received the most growth and acceptance. |

| I've generally found that good shows are available throughout the times, the difference I feel is the amount of shit we have to wade through to find it. Death Note Darker than Black Aria Series Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations Nodame Cantabile Gintama Monster Mushishi School Rumble 2nd Season NHK ni Youkoso! Baccano! Soul Eater Natsume Yuujinchou although that's 4 years, but that time period is easily the best for me |

| In terms of high quality productions and new original series, 2003 - 2007 was an absolutely insane period for anime. Madhouse goes mad, coming out with hit after hit after hit. Bones and Production I.G. make their biggest marks during this period. Gonzo releases three quality series!?!? Seriously Gonzo, I thought you were supposed to be a shit studio. We are introduced to studio Manglobe, and two of their biggest and best series. And a slew of other godly new original series such as Kino's Journey, Mushishi, Mononoke, and Baccano!. '02-'06 saw a lot of adaptations but many of those adaptations would be game-changers and start very strong trends that have persisted well into the current decade. |

| 2006-2007 is generally considered as some sort of revolution in the anime world where the medium's popularity increased drastically for all future, so I'd probably have to say that 2011 is still the best individual year in terms of shows though |

Between the late 70s and the early 80s Japanese tv animation had become an artistic and commercial reality, prominent internationally, with an unmatched technical capability in the world, very short lead times and competitive prices, thanks to technological innovation and the localization of the different stages of production in countries with lower labor costs such as South Korea. The animation in this period reached its zenith with a significant increase of television productions. In addition to the audience of children, very interested in the industry were even teenagers and young adults, and this encouraged the expansion of more mature and dramatic issues, and just then began to go out for the first time the nickname of otaku. Although it remained essentially a domestic business with a clear dominant consumption pattern. |
