This was great! The entire show went by too fast lol I waited forever just to bingewatch the whole thing in 2 days xD. I can't wait for season 3 I feel like overall we didn't get that much information in this season, the fact that Titans were humans before have always seems obvious to me idk. Also when Eren just stood up while Mikasa was all in her feelings made me go OUUTCHH

Am I really the only one who felt the whole Ymir and Historia thing was a bit too much?

Honestly they came out of nowhere and felt a bit like i didnt care about their story, if they are meant to be a big part of the story they shouldve been introduced earlier.

Out of nowhere they focus on these characters, seemed random to me and i didnt care.

Thats my only downside on this season.

(Sorry for the spam)
Literally same. Since the 2 seasons were that far apart, there were some characters I didn't even remember from the first season and Ymir and Historia were one of them. I wasn't interested one bit in their story and tbh I was doing the dishwash when this part came on so I didn't really catch who Historia really was but I didn't care and didn't feel like replaying the scene.

Definitely an improvement over season 1, it started off terribly but it got better as it went on. Levi, Erwin and Hange were fabulous as usual and Sasha, Ymir and Christa – especially Ymir – grew in my eyes. Too bad Eran, Mikasa and Armin still ruined half of the show, I hope the creator decides to kill them off sometime in the future but I guess that would be too much to ask for.

1/5 Ymir's development was disregarded and she was spent as a character for the author's convenience in keeping info out of the hands of the humans. She is being sacrificed, against all sense for the antagonists to have a scape goat to continue existing as well. Her whole development arc was for her to live for herself which then became to live for herself and for Historia and all that is thrown away by her going back.

It would of been in her and Historia's best interest, by so so so much for her to go with her. Basically history is going to repeat itself and it will be all for nothing again. A waste of one of the most alluring characters this season. Any anime that make you care about a character and become invested in them and then pointlessly throws that character away is the scum in the bottom of the bucket for me.

On the other side, hey, dead lesbian trope, wooo, hurray for this wonderful anime tradition...?

This was a good final episode of the season.

Eren finds he has a new power AND takes out his mother's killer.

Not to mention close to the end I think I have a feeling on who the Beast Titan is...

This is a good gif and you should all look at it

Anyhow, I just want to know how the hell blondie boy stayed alive that whole time, let alone conscious. Seriously, that entire scrape with the titans had to go on for at least 5 minutes real world time after his arm was bitten off, and who knows how long they had to ride on horseback before they could get him any medical attention! Add on the fact that they look like they have American Civil War era medical technology, and he would have died of infection even if he didn't totally bleed out. I know it's an anime, but that one pushed my suspension of disbelief xD

They DID IT! Somehow, this is perfect ending of short but kickassing ballsgrabing second season. Its maybe those 4 years from first season, but I feel like they managed to get it even more emotional and epic then before (I really need only my hands to count flaws of this season and only thing really that upseted me was that CGI collosal titan) and 3 season on its way.

Salute from bottom of my heart. "Humanity" will fight on against titans once again!

Damn, rest in peace Hannes :(
The laugh / cry reminded me of Light's final moments in Death Note, it was similar it's uncanny.

So this "Coordinate" thing Reiner and Bertholdt were talking about makes it so this specific person can control the titans that arent aware of their previous human form, or cant transfer back to their human form?
Because Reiner, Bertholdt and Ymir didnt get affected by it ... interesting.

Seems they finally figured out Titans were humans all this time.

Also we get to see what the Ape Titan in human form is, a buffed up beared man.

Absolutely fantastic second season, I didnt think I'd care as muich after 4 years but damn every single episode got me pumped to keep watching, not a lot of anime can do that.
10/10 yet again, just simply because it's so epic and the mystery really adds to it.

Good series again.

It definitely was not nearly as good as the first season though. It didn't have nearly as many epic or memorable moments as that series did.

Didn't like the overuse of CGI and it seemed like they didn't show the Titans actually eat people as much this time around, they'd keep cutting away.

Music was good as usual but no overall the last season was much better.

Glad they're doing a third season but as a manga reader I am fully aware that the next season will be even worse still.

This was a really random and unfulfilling season. For some reason, I barely got info out of this season and everything became secretive and vague. This season failed to answer so many questions but only created more. There wasn't as much new information as I expected, which is disappointing. The visuals and music are still absolutely beautiful, but it makes me wonder how an anime can say so much without saying anything relevant at all.

I'm not really impressed with the direction of the plot either. I feel like the show was going one way and then all of a sudden they decided to take a detour and not even make it conclusive. It just has me feeling really empty in general.

Unfortunately, I didn't see a lot of Levi this season which just makes me sadder.

I'm giving it a 6/10 because it was fine.

I think it's either because he was exhausted or because his titan form is extremely slow so it'll just slow them down. Probably the latter.

Finally got around to finishing it. Loved the finale. Loved season 2 more than season 1 due to the expansion of character development. Overall, there was a drop in animation quality between seasons but the parts they did well, they really did well. The supporting characters in this series far surpass the main trio in likeability and intrigue. Can't wait to see more in season 3.

Also, found it a bit funny that Eren didn't transform once this whole season.

Well, I liked this season a lot more than the first one. Felt more like the focus was on actually interesting characters that grew quite a bit in the span of this season. Less epic fights, but I actually cared about the characters, which will always win in my eyes.

Eren and Armin are still not very interesting, but Eren actually did improve in this season a bit as well, and Mikasa is still badass enough for me to ignore her faults.

8/10 season, maybe a 9 after some more thought.

Liked season 1 more. Even though they covered all the plot points so far, they missed a lot of dialogue and character development that was in the manga, and just concentrated on making this be more of an "action" season. Still nice to binge watch, the animation is very high quality and production especially during major fight scenes.

Something like that had to come anyway.

Once we see Ymir's flashback, we can guess that they are somehow to be controlled, if not there would be no valid reason to transform the prisoners in titans...

Now add that Reiner and co stopped everything when they discovered Eren could transform...

Honestly speaking I didn't see much improvement from the previous season. Maybe because the main focus was on boring supporting characters like Sasha, Conny, Ymir, Historia whose past or story I didn't really care about even if they were eaten by titans. While more important character like Levi, Mikasa, Armin, Hange had little to no screen-time. Like where was Levi the entire time? Apart from those revelations and betrayals there isn't much development or depth to the story.

Isayama tries very hard to create empathy for the antagonists in order to justify their crimes because of some tragic past or duty. I find this in many anime and frankly it's over-used just to make the villains interesting. This is something that I hate because it lacks realism.

Well Eren's character improved like 2% from the previous season. But he's still a damsel who got people killed as usual and his naive and impulsive attitude hasn't changed much. At least he didn't scream or despair as often like he usually does. I kinda feel bad for intelligent characters Mikasa and Armin who have to constantly babysit Eren so he doesn't do anything stupid.

Man the last past really bugged me on how Reiner, Ymir and Bert...whatever his name is came out unscathed from that titan orgy. Like c'mon that's ridiculous. At least kill off Ymir.

Between the out there We're the armored and colossal titans, the continuation of incredibly 1 dimensional main characters being the same characters from episode 1, and the titans are humans not surprising twist, not much at all worth it watching this.... I'm just gonna have to revert back to my original thought process 4 years ago..that this show will never be as good as the first half of the 1st season again. No matter how much time passes, my attitude will never change on this I think

Ofc he couldn't transform.

Getting real tired of this bullshit with him getting kidnapped and not being able to transform in crucial moments. What a shit way to kill off Hannes, hell Eren didn't even get to take out the titan himself. Instead we got this coordinate bs where he accidentally gets other titans to do it for him.

Definitely not as good as the first season. Enjoyed the fights more and felt the soundtrack was used better.

I enjoyed this entire season, to me it's a bit better than the first. The twist and turns and cliffhangers were awesome. I kind of felt like Erwin and felt like I was finally getting answers to some questions.
I loved that we got an in depth look at all the other characters and I was very much surprise that there was more to Eren that meets the eye and now know why people were always trying to kidnap him.
This was an excellent second season. Can't wait for the third.

A times better ending than S1, actually bringing some kind of an enjoyable closure.

I don't know, the episode felt bad for a finale, but then again it actually left a way to S3. Not just that but when you thought that this title can't pull a really unexpected twist it turns out the guy who NTR'd Hiyori was Father? That really does make sense, although "Yato's father kissed Hiyori" sound so weird. That could actually be one of the best cliffhangers endings ever, lol.

1. Characters: +1 | I give it, this season actually added some depth to the characters. I actually see them as believable now.
2. Atmosphere: +1 | It was pretty good for most of the time.
3. OST: +1 | The OP had like one good moment, but the ED was so goo I can actually look the other way.
4. Animation: +1 | I feel like it was subpar compared to S1, but that still doesn't make it bad by any stretch of the imagination.
5. Background story: +0.5 | Well, we got some background on the characters, even if it wasn't anything of utmost importance.
6. Storyline: +1 | The plot of this arc was decent. It should be noted that if Eren wasn't successfully saved, I'd give a 0 here.
7. Ending: 1 | An awesome ending, it didn't disappoint me one bit and I actually put it really high on my list.
8. Drama: +0.5 | The small bit of drama we got wasn't that bad.
9. Overall affect: +1 | I liked this part way more than anything and everything we got in S1. It may have been short, but in return it was close-knit. The ending was also great and fulfilling contrary to what expectations S1 might have set.
Overall score: 7/10.

I have a big question. Why couldn't Eren transform to fight the smiling titan. In order for him to transform he needs to draw blood and have a clear goal in mind. So you would think that with all that rage and anger against the titans, especially the one that ate his mother iin front of him, that he would be able to to transform right there. But he didn't. Nothing happened.
