Oh hai. I'm a long time anime watcher but I move at a snail's pace and don't have too much time to binge anymore. Favorite genres are romance (shoujo ai especially, but I tend to like pretty much every subgenre of romance), action/adventure, hype beast shows and mystery. Sci-fi is probably my least favorite, though as long as the show doesn't go into pretentious meta commentary/open to interpretation realm, I can stomach it okay. Also not set in stone, maybe I just haven't seen any of the good ones.
I generally prefer sub unless the genre is comedy, then I can't watch it in subs. Comedic timing transfers rather poorly into text, so even sub-par dubs tend to be way better.
My ratings are generally this:
10: Awesome, must watch, have my babies.
9: A great ride throughout, maybe not something I think about for years after watching but was super cool nonetheless.
8: Solid show, no complaints. Maybe not a super lasting impression, but was cool
7: Good but nothing amazing. Usually can burn through a 7 without losing steam or feel like I'm wasting my time.
6: It's aight.
5: Don't bother. Anything lower is just increasing levels of bad, with a 5 being bland or mediocre.
Do plan to watch more eventually but right now catching up on all the marvel universe movies. Stay tuned!
