Koharu is such a good friend to have tbh. She's always helping others and encouraging Ririko to open up to others. Unlike Koharu though, I think she has trouble making friends with her personality.

Nice to see some relationship development btween Koharu and Ririko. I feel the two has grown a bit closer this episode.

Koharu also impressed me with her role at their tourst site.

Ririko and Sandal-san really become the MVP for this episode. Good job both of you!!!
I thought this will be tearjerking-free story. But it surely won't take long to make me think twice. Why does it always this hard to hold tears when watching Anime? >_< Totally can't hold it.

Great episode.

Sandal is so awesome, for some reason he always makes me laugh. xD
Nice of him to share the story about his great grandparents.

Loved the part where Yoshi reassured Ririko, Sandal singing the song at the end of that scene was nice as well.

I liked the parallel between the Ririko and the dragon story, also lovely how they showed different interpretations to the story in conjunction with Ririko originally feeling alienated and then eventually accepting her difference finding people who accept her.

Yoshino ftw, she made a lovely closing speech.

Ririko singing the Dragon's song was absolutely beautiful, along with the fireflies the entire scene was stunning. I'm still listening to her sing. XD
Nice ending scene with Sandal painting a picture of the dragon finding friends. :)

Awesome episode. Yoshino is such a good friend to Ririko. Ririko comparing herself to the dragon story was sad. Both felt alienated and eventually people accepted them. Sandal's singing at the last scene was nice. Got to know more about him. Ririko singing was absolutely beautiful. The fireflies was a nice touch. Sandals's painting of the dragon finding friends was pretty.

Awesome episode. Loved it. Almost cried.

Sandal-san needs more screen time.

Yoshi reassuring Ririko was the best part of the episode and Sandal-san singing that song and telling her not to cry was nice.

Ririko singing was absolutely beautiful. And those fireflies made it stunning.

It made me sad when Ririko compared herself to the dragon but I was glad when their was different interpretation for it. Sandal-san's painting of the dragon finding friends was a nice way to end the episode. :)

Sandal is the greatest character. He stands out so well from the already diverse cast and has talent written all over his face. He just helped out Riri so effortlessly by little words about his own life story in Manoyama.

Also Riri singing the song accompanied by Sandal's guitar playing was pretty beautiful.

I'd say, that's the best episode so far in terms of emotional impact...by far. And i hope it continues with this direction, more emotion please.

Today episode of Sakura Quest was just pure awesome, Riri best girl. It was sweet of Koharu and Sandal to help cheer her up, and im glad that jerk who told her she is weird got kick from that girl. It makes me wonder, why was that legend changed in first place if there are still people around, who remmeber original story?

OMG, THIS WAS SUCH AN AMAZING EPISODE. One of the best, if not the best. Like seriously, the show's drop in score completely baffles me, and that's an understatement.

We had more story on Riri, but also a little bit of reasoning behind her grandma's behavior against outsiders (Riri's parents). Definitely the highlight of the episode was Riri's moment of singing (wonderful voice as well). Short scene, but powerful and very beautiful with all the fireflies. Really, I wanted more.

All in all, episodes like these prove exactly why Sakura Quest is AOTS for me without a doubt. Also, Sandal-san is the man. He had a lot of screentime during Riri's story, and I hope it won't stop there and we'll get to see more of him again! Absolutely love Yoshino as well, how sweet she is!

Same it really doesnt make sense especially considering the episode forums are always SO Positive!
And this is the second best of the season for me, just behind Tsuki Ga kirei! But Sakura Quest is so underrated!

Blame the silent portion of the users who're watching this show and is less impressed with the episodes as we other users are positively commenting on them. =/

For me, Sandal was awesome. The song his mother passed down to him was the missing link that would solve the mystery behind the story of the dragon girl and the song used for the Manoyama Dance.

Same goes for Ririko. With her discovery of the story's truth and, along with the motivational talk with Yoshino and Sandal's song, it gave her a chance to shine at last as she performed the song in front of everyone at the shrine.

As for the mystery man, he's one of the ladies' Ex who fell into the pond thanks to the thunder last week. Too bad for the poor officer though. =P

Definitely, Sakura Quest is one of the most underrated shows this Spring, but I'm hoping more people will acknowledge the show's strengths as it continues towards the second half of its episode run during the Summer season. =)

A lot of people (me included) won't rate a show until it's finished. I've only made exceptions for the portion of long running shows that I've watched.

However, the big reason probably is that Sakura Quest falls outside of the typical demographic at MAL. Character studies tend to do poorly on MAL.

"What the hell were you practicing" xD
I thought that was pretty funny.

Another very good episode. I liked it how the tale of the dragon turned out to be a story which tells how open Manoyama is towards outsiders and how they fitted it within the context of this arc.

The dialogue between Yoshino and Ririko and Yoshinos speech were quite emotional, I didn't cry, but they had a nice warm feeling.

The song at the end made this episode almost perfect.

Maybe there are some people who started this show that aren't into slice of life and/or had different expectations. But who cares as long as we are enjoying it, the score will probably rise anway, though. Many didn't rate it and the low ratings of people who dropped it early on won't be taken into account after it finished airing. Wouldn't be surprising if this show will get close to an 8 or maybe even more depending on how it will wrap.

As fair as it can count, i heard that the most high mediium vote for this season of anime is Quan Zhi Gao Shou, that it's not bad but for sure it ain't the anime of the season. Votes doesn't count nothing. The show is good and i know a lot of people who's enjoying it.

Btw, great episode, for me the best till now.
Finally Ririko got an entire episode and for me she's the best girl of the show, confirmed today. I like the way this show took.

Count another person for not being entirely sure. I want to say that episodic slice-of-life anime without some sort of dramatic overarching story tend to get lower grades - think Amanchu or something? or Aria. There's probably better examples out there that I haven't seen, but the episodic feel-good anime, the comfort food for the soul, tend to get overlooked by people who feel like an engaging anime must have some sort of sorrow/anger/tension to it.

As a side note, I just want to say while Yoshino was charming enough to keep me watching and rooting for her at the start, I've stayed because of all the genuinely likable secondary characters. This is a very chill, relaxing enjoyable series and I hope more people give it a chance. It's sort of like World's End, also from this season, both of these series came without fanfare and really surpassed expectations for those who gave it an honest chance.

Ririko and Sandal definitely took the ep but Yoshino was also really sweet and stood out as well.
I loved seeing Yoshino bonding with and helping Ririko with her insecurities, it was really cute.

Sandal's narration at the end as he finished his art was really wonderful~

THIS! Yoshi does the best job at making sure her friends are good on an emotional level and that really brings out her character.

Riri's song was so cute and to top it off the firefly's at the end!

5/5- Another fantastic episode. Ririko crying, smiling and singing was awesome. Looks like the Dragon isn't so lonely anymore :)

Other than Shiori, it's really hard for me to distinguish which girl I like more. So at this point I'm just gonna love them all equally...and Shiori more.

Ririko has a wonderful singing voice as well! Did not expect that from her due to her personality. I guess the quiet characters are normally the better singers. She was great this episode and made the finale of the tour great.

I loved that the red shirt guy who shoo Ririko away got owned. Not only that he failed to get with that girl but the moral of the story was to accept outsiders and their culture. I hope he feels stupid right now.

It was a fantastic episode~
Yoshino hugging and comforting Ririko was such a heartwarming scene. The song was nice and we got to see her smile too.

I hope this episode is not the last chance to talk about Ririko, but just the beginning to get to know her better. I also believe that Sandal deserves more visibility and not just him. Very romantic the end of the episode, with Ririko singing. I would like to know, among the mythological animals of Sandal's painting, who is the character of Koharu, and not just her.
