More characterization this episode.

I feel like this show has poured a good deal of focus into the background storytelling recently. Some characters are also so easy to get mad in this show. Gion is still training. I also hope the show focuses a bit on gameplay again soon. Ebumi also never ceases to amuse me just because of his "bad boy" attitude even with his teammates.

I actually never paid attention to Ise before this, but this episode did make me feel for him. Very Good episode again.

Didn't like Ise's brother in the beginning but as the episode progressed, I couldn't just blame him after that.
The scene with Ise crying as he was buying food at the store was really sad. :(

Ebumi really came through this episode, Really liked how he reassured and supported Ise by telling him not to give up Rugby. Really nice of the guy to even lend Ise all that money to goto the camp. Despite his rough look and loud personality he's still someone who cares about his teammates. :)

Compared to last episode which had Keta quitting the club, this episode ends on a much more positive note with Ise most likely to continue. I'm sure his brother after seeing that dirty shirt felt a little bad for forcing Ise to quit too.
Training camp next episode. :D

Ise's brother was a jackass at first but I think he had a change of heart toward the end. He even took the time to wash and hang up Natsuki's dirty uniform. Hopefully he continues playing rugby so the team doesn't lose another player.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

More character building and backstory! Really enjoying these episodes and can't wait to see what training camp brings!
So glad that I'm not a huge manga reader, because the manga readers WHINE WAY TOO MUCH and have to RUIN every adapted anime for the ANIME ONLY WATCHERS!

I liked this, Ebumi sure came through!
Though I'd appreciate it if the show's pacing was a little faster, oh well we still have 10 episodes for the games to kick in :D

Just get on to the training camp.

I thought this episode was fantastic. I had no idea these two had such a sad past. We're starting to learn more and more about the characters lately. I'm glad.

This episode did a great job of "show, not tell." You could see that in Ise's older brother's shoes and his cracked phone. He's probably had them for a while like that. Clearly, he's had to make some heavy sacrifices himself to take care of his younger brother. He's a harsh and abrasive guy, and the gay joke was pretty shitty, but he's obviously been worn down by reality having to take care of his brother all by himself. On that note, despite some ridiculous-looking characters(like the guy with the weird eyes), this show is pretty realistic. And this sports show deserves to be more popular, thanks to episodes like this one.

Lastly, major respect to Ise and Ebumi for their actions in this episode. Ise knows how much his brother has sacrificed, despite the harsh treatment he's always taken from him. He's a good kid. And props to Ebumi for giving Ise money. Maybe Ise will one day get him a dirty dvd in return. That'd be a nice thing to do. :D

Well as if this episode wasn't about one to comprehend and care who Ise Natsuki is.

---------

Above all, we are half through this series and some folks are forgetting this is also a seinen. I understand the itch to see more rugby action but ofc this anime will feature some mature themes and issues such like those in the last and this episode: Komori-san and his wife can't having children; the boy Keta leaving the team because of hardcore training making him miserable; complicated relationship between two brothers since the loss of their parents...

Gonna second to @Mormegil. No matter the weird characters design this show has (altough I personally like the wacky designs becuase imo makes the charas stand out from each other, I admit Ise hairhorns made me scratch my head all though entire episode, lol), I'm glad it has touching points to reality. Deserves some notice and recognation. I'm slightly surprised that for a female mangaka, this is the most decent sport story I've encouter. It's been awhile since I have enjoyed a sport series this much and want to listen&care about the characters. Honestly, Haikyuu and Daiya didn't have strong effect on me just like All Out!! currently has.

I really enjoyed this episode. I quite like the value this series places on developing a story for all the characters.
Ise was a character I hadnt really noticed, it was great seeing more of him.
Also - my tune towards Ebumi changed. I mean I still think he's annoying AF but deep down you can see he's a good guy.

Also having to financially provide for worthless little shits, it's easy to sympathize with the brother. Shed some figurative tears when he turned over his broken phone. At least Ise is grateful.

Ebumi & Ise might be perfect partners, one who is poor who needs money and one who is rich that money is too much.

because he gave up his 20s to raise his younger brother when he didn't have to. he obviously grew to resent him.

I didn't like how cartoony evil they made the brother, but I liked their story. I did like the limited exposition through words and more exposition through images, something anime desperately needs rather than having characters info dump every little thing like in LN adaptations. Just the shots of his busted shoes and phone spoke a lot about the character and their circumstances.
