| I highly recommend you to first watch the previous seasons, not only because they are great as standalone ps but also because you get the continuous character development. But yeah, basically you could watch Natsume Yuujinchou GO without watching the previous seasons, though I don't believe anyone would recommend that.. |

| Plot wise - Not really missing that much, they always explain the basic premise in the first episode of each season and it's enough info to go off if you are new to the series. Characterisation wise - You will be missing out on a lot. Which is why I recommend you watch the all the other seasons first. |

| Moved from Anime Discussion Despite not having watching Natsume Yuujinchou, I can't recommend skipping parts like that unless there was some issue of quality or narrative flow, and even then I'd still suggest watching it all for the experience. If you don't have the time or the drive, I'd suggest holding off on the series until you feel up to it. |

| I binged the rest of the series just so I could watch this; no regrets. If you start with season 5 you lose a lot character development and backstory for Natsume as well as not knowing the other recurring characters. |
