Another painful flashback for Mumei..

I feel like Mumei and Ikoma grew close again. Haven't seen her that vulnerable before. Good action as expected, the switching between flashbacks and present makes the episode more of a mind struggle for Mumei. She's lucky to have someone like Ikoma to care about her. Eh, the giant Kabane looks really strange, reminds me something from a monster B-Movie lol, loved the music when they were fighting on the train.

Halfway trough the season...pity that this is only 12 episodes.

AS expected they start to talk shit about Mumei...well some what for good reason...she screwed....

But...Ikoma satrt to get trough her in this Mine....who wants to bet on that?

AH...we see Bunshi prejudice and assholeness...been while since episode 1 and 2... and Big Brother...to rescue...

aw..Mumei got From Ikoma and Co.. show just how wrong she was...and now won her officially over I think! XD

Kurusu is back in action...and Train versus big Guntai KABANE!!! (Army Corpse..lol what a literal translating..) Guntai is Army and Kabene Corpse. DAMN AWESOME EPISODE!!! LOVED THIS!

Wow, this episode was an epic fight with the Black Smoke!

The Black Smoke has a heart and at the center is a person (here, a female). Also, Mumei explains that the Black Smoke amasses kabane and people alike (maybe other stuff as well).

Flashbacks of Mumei's past. Like Ikoma, her place was under kabane attack and her mother (who looks like Shino-san), was killed by a frightened Bushi, without even being a kabane. A blurred image of the prospective Ani-sama, who obviously saved Mumei from being killed like her mother.

Mumei reveals that all her comrades have become kabane and this is their eventual demise as Kabaneri.

Everyone works together to defeat the the Black Smoke and pick Ikoma and Mumei back (despite another, yet brief, dispute with the nobles on the train). In the end even the nobles supported the cause and helped rail the train back.

More spotlight for Yukina, Sukari, Takumi, and the Bushi.

Screenshot almost everything :)), but like the scene with Ikoma and Kurusu best!

That was sooo good!!! Loved how quickly Mumei stopped being annoying. She was great this ep. Apologizing, acting cute and being an absolute BA!! Screenshots for most her scenes XD

Ikoma was a complete BA killing all those Kabane by himself like that. Mumei definitely cares about him quite a bit now

Kurusu was awesome with the new blade and Yukina...DAMN Dat toned body :L

I think Mumei said she didn't get bit? So her Kabaneri transformation is definitely different. I can already see the lewd photoshops on her drinking the blood :P

OST was dope!!!

Good episode.

Glad that we got some flashbacks for Mumei's past, I really do hope we do get some more history for her, it was also nice to see her go an apologize about the dog.

Also nice to know the actual name for the black smoke Kabane -- Fused Colony.

I commented about this on episode four, but the soundtrack is fanfuckingtastic.

Only watched the raw version. Will comment after watching the subbed version

The episode focus on Mumei is good as it tells her point of iew and how she grew up to be what she is.

The action is getting more tense as everyone pulls together, especially the ending part.

And call me strange but I feel that the one been the core was someone Mumei knows.... my little theory....

Now for a few gripes.

First off Mumei injures look far worst than they shoud be.... but then again been what she is she probably healed it up... This is a minor gripe really.

Now the main one I'll probably say is Kurusu suppose injury that went through his stomach, and yet it was his arm in a sling. (someone probably pointed I believe) And of course he's fine after a very short amount of time. Well I guess they can use some strange logic there.

Ikoma/Mumei is a definite thing going to happen, but I can't help but feel at the very end she might be killed by Ikoma because her "Time" ran out, as the guy from the previous epiosde said.

Errr I don't know how to view that as bad..... And even if I use my imagination that's been in the gutters it still don't look bad given the position, if he was a tad more closer then we'll be talking.

That name probably died with her mother. AT least this flashback puts a final bullet in the stupid theory that she was Ikoma's sister.

God I loved that ost during the fight with the fused colony.

You'd think if the colony wanted bodies either alive or dead it would've gone for the train instead since there is probably more people in it than there are kabane in the cave.

Also the english guy is still awesome.

Decent episode, of course they put everyone at risk those idiots. Also how the hell is Mumei (who I like to call Mommi xDD) a kabaneri if she said that was the first time she was bit by a kabani before? Was that a plot hole they looked over or a translation error?

The scene where everyone was pushing was even more hilarious. I understand moving on the side, even though their weight is negligible, but pushing made me straight up laugh.

It suggests that the process through which she became a Kabaneri is not the same as what happened to Ikoma. Perhaps a controled infection was carried out or just implanting infected Kabane blood.

Yeah thats a possibility, I was also thinking maybe a scratch can do it too? But yeah also like you said maybe she was implanted with blood by that guy she was a bodyguard for, so she can defend him better OR maybe she was killing/attempting to kill one when she was human and the blood got in a cut or her mouth.

Fixing one minor problem that last episode had doesn't fix everything. By "even the one you can call background characters got a role this episode" you mean the passengers that moved on one side of the train? Well their role is debatable since how already someone pointed out their weight is quite negligible compared to the weight of the train.
Nonetheless it was good that all/most supporting characters did something, I hope this will be the norm and not the exception.

Oh, when i said everything, i mean regarding the character's uselessness last episode, not all the problems in general.

Also, now we know the true reason for the sword breaking plot convinience last episode. It was so they could give triple emphasis to Kurusu piercing a heart with the kabane sword this episode.

Actually that would work, especially since those rail cars are packed with survivors. 50 people at an average of about 160 pounds (more for men, less for women) is 4 tons. That much shifting cargo would have an effect.

Yukine releasing the pressure limits was a scene even better than the battle scenes in this ep, and those were outstanding. I also liked how she nonchalantly flipped the speaking tube closed after she told Sukari to clear the gear shaft.

A few really good lines:

Mumei: "Don't mess it up this time, Fatty."

Ikoma: "If you die, don't blame it on the weapon."

I'm starting to like Kurusu (Ayame sama's samurai).

This show continues to hit, and exceed, the mark. Already looking forward to next week.

Well, this IS a shonen manga no? It happens everywhere so i can overlook that. And he would still be a useless character if he were injured still, so the writers basically backed themselves into a corner in this one.
