| JoJo series - My best friend always bashed (though she hadn't watched it lol) so my expectations were super low but now I love it. Diamond no Ace - Wasn't my first (or second) sports anime to watch but I guess i had very negative mindset over it because I just don't like baseball at all. Then I watched it and I think it's best sports anime I've watched. |

| OreImo I'd completely written it off as incest pandering trash, but honestly I enjoyed it a ton! The first season barely touches on the incest elements (aside from the references to her VNs and such), the characters were all fantastic in their own way, and I have so much respect for the way it ended. I do not understand why it gets seen so negatively. |

| The anime that most exceeded my expectations was probably Maria-sama ga Miteru. It hardly ever gets mentioned on MAL. I remember adding it because I thought the school uniforms looked pretty classy (more conservative with longer skirts, sleeves, big leather handbags, etc) lol which was a break from the usual short skirts schtick. So when I started running out of quality romcoms I dusted it off, noted it was shoujo-ai (yeah, whatever. It's still high school romancy stuff, right? I thought). By the end of episode three I was blown away. Instant top ten and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Toradora, Kimi ni Todoke and Nodame Cantabile. |

Code Geass: Gundam with mechas being used as ornaments. Gangsta: Some hype animu reflecting the troubles of urban youths in Chiraq. On the other hand, I knew exactly what One Punch Man was going to be like just by reading the title. |

| Probably Revolutionary Girl Utena and Lucky Star. I was wary on Utena for silly reasons really, I was super narrow minded on things regarding yuri and the like. Being more mature now I decided to give it a shot and found it rather good despite being silly at times. Lucky star, despite being almost nothing but silliness, I enjoyed purely on nostalgia points. Good lord did it ever remind me of my high school days and the fun I had with my fellow anime loving friends. |
| - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure : Before i watched the series, their unique art was a turn off for me that i never try to pick them up.. This year i start to watch it, completed it and now it's among of my favorites anime.. Ironically, after i finished JoJo i feel that it's unique art are one of the best.. - Steins;Gate : Never a fan of Sci-Fi be it a anime,tv series, and movies.. but Steins;Gate blown my mind with an entertaining and thrilling plot.. It's one of the anime that i rated the highest to date.. - Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru : Found the anime being the top in Hyouka recommendation list.. For some reason, the plot didn't seems interesting to me and after i watch it, it's turn out to be great and to date, it's the best rom/com series that i've ever seen.. |
