| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Everyone's checking on her because of the rumor, and now Nobu's character got ordered to protect and help her. Showing when the prince got a bodyguard (that guy always with him), and that he also had good friend from outside, though they are careful. That guy is being suspicious of the prince's friend, though. It seems like a group including that guy came for the prince's brother for avenging on their family. Wow, the brother is so strong, he can defeat all of them by himself. So what Nobu's character asked the girl was the exact same phrase that "the friend" said before his death. |

| Probably the most serious episode yet up to this point of the season. Death usually isn't that common in shoujo shows so having one in this series seems thrilling. Undercover archer huh? Now that's quite something. Izana also sure has quite a bit of enemies. |

| Great episode. I like how this show isn't just about Shirayuki and Zen, but also tries to give meaningful depth and development to all it's characters. It's nice to see, and unfortunately rare. Also, a swordfight with actual blood and death! I approve. |
| Obi getting to follow Shirayuki, their interactions were pretty nice. Looking forward to the two getting closer. A glimpse of Zen's past, it isn't easy to have a friend that is not only on the enemy side but to die right in front of him. Izana was really filled with confidence to show up and go in despite the numbers, I like his mindset of "If I've failed, I am only a man of that caliber." |

| That was a very good episode. We get to see Mitsuhide back in the days when he got to be Zen's attendant. As a prince, you have it rough. |

| Good to know a bit more about Zen's past, not just because it fleshes him out a bit more but also because it helps flesh out Mitsuhide a bit. That's good, cos that was something that this series was lacking. Hopefully Zen's other attendant (whatever her name is) gets fleshed out soon. |

| It was nice to see Shirayuki and Obi interact more, their completely opposite reactions to the alcohol was pretty funny. Zen's backstory was pretty sad, having his friend turn out to be an enemy and then seeing him get killed by his attendant (with his blood splattering onto his face as well). I did get a bad feeling when Atri wanted to meet at night, something seemed fishy. But on the flip side, Izana was a boss in this episode. |

| We get to learn more about Zen's past. Obviously Obi will fall in love with Shirayuki but will definitely get rejected because Shirayuki x Zen forever. |

| Ohh a look at Zen's past, that was interesting to watch. I had my suspicions when Atri showed that expression on his face in the tree. I hope we get more in the next episode, as i still want to know how Zen and Mitsuhide became so close. i'm assuming there is more to it than this. |
| The bloodiest episode so far... I guess Zen's past was showed that he's quite trusting of other people. Considering that I get why Izana doesn't trust Shirayuki. |

| Oh my goodness that flashback was something else.....I'd never expect something this dark from a shoujo That blood bath was intense and man oh man Izana and Mitsuhide are freaking amazing at sword fighting for them to easily run through and slaughter those rebels O_O Still I feel bad for Zen since he lost his friend.....Now we know why this prince thing bothers him so much.....Good episode all together and I laughed so hard at the liquor scene |

| Note self: 1. Keep all alcohol away from Shirayuki. 2. Never let her go to a pub without any kind of supervision. Oh no, being a prince actually comes with responsibility and consequences, and you have to learn to deal with it and they actually use that to build characters, not just one but multiple, damn this shojo is awesome.  The best part of waking up, is ACID in your cup! And the flashback makes sense too, not like in Gangsta they are just there to give obligatory exposition and always break the flow and turn out to have little to no relation with the plot, yeah Akagami also doesn't have a clearly defined plot, but it doesn't stretch thing too thin, it has a purpose and helps to reveal more characters and personalties, and again, I can't believe that this is a rare occurrence: things actually got set up and have a pay off (the whole Atori and the assassination plot, set up in two episodes before), that twist is exciting and thrilling, you know, and it makes sense, something you don't find in other shows of this season. Who could've thought that a show only have to do everything right to best other competitors? But that probably won't reflect on the sales, but I don't care, let's see if they can carry or continue the themes in the next episode. And the pan around shot at 19:00, haven't seen that in a while in anime, it always looks weird because it's just some elements moving on a flat plate in different layers, but kudos to them trying more than a dull shot reverse shot (with close up!), they actually manage to get the camera moving in a different way other than up down left and right, or diagonal! In anime! TV anime! |

| Well this was a nice episode explaining why Izana is so dubious about Shirayuki and perhaps anyone that gets too close to his brother. It's not so much about the conventions in having relationships with people in different social standings that he dislikes, it's people that use his brother as a political target for favors or revenge. |

| This episode was quite more interesting than the previous ones so far. With Shirayuki unconscious on the sidelines, more bits about Zen's past is shown, especially regarding Mitsuhide. Pretty nice to see him mature from that time. |

| Episode was beast, no doubt about it. At first I thought the fight would be harmless like the one Zen had with those Bandits a few episode ago. Welp I was wrong. |

| Well it was certainly entertaining :o I wasn't expecting to see as much blood, seeing as it is a shoujo but... dayum. I loved it. I specially loved the scene where Atri's eyes lost their life. That was beautiful. |

| Didn't care for the 3 vs whole squadron of malcontents. Oshima was the only star of this ep for me. The background story was meh. Liking Obi and Izana more and more. |
| It's interesting that this show and Yona although classified as shoujo have actually had pretty intense bloody combats at times. I came for the romance, but I appreciate when violence like this is well-done and fits into the story, not exploited as fan service. Character development for both Zen and Mitsuhide in this episode which is nice to see. |

| Atri part was a little bit cheesy, but it tackles some real-world issues of the gulf between the poor and the rich. Must've been a traumatic experience for Zen. Nice to see that he has matured a lot through the experiences he had. I would've shut down if my pal was killed in front of me, regardless of whether or not what Atri showed was a facade or was genuine. |

| Damn, Zen's past was pretty crazy. The fight in the second half was surprisingly violent which I didn't expect. Mitsuhide and Zen's relationship started out pretty rocky but now we see how close they are now. I kinda knew Atri was going to betray Zen at some point, he just seemed pretty fake. The small Obi and Shirayuki moment at the beginning was quite nice though; Shirayuki can handle the booze / 10 5/5 |

| Great episode, the focus on the past of the others characters is a good thing. Poor Zen was betrayed by his friend and he saw him die. I like how the relation between Mitsuhide and Zen has progressed. |
| Was a little surprising but I liked that the show isn't afraid to show some blood. Guessed that Atri was up to no good from the moment they showed him sharpening his weapon so the betrayal didn't come as a surprise, but poor Zen... |

| Another good episode. Somewhat violent, which was surprising. I like Zen a bit more now. Gotta love just how much character development everyone gets in this Anime! |

| Honestly, I really didn't have any high expectations for liking this show when I started it, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite anime in a long time (definitely my favorite this season). I like it so much that I'm actually reading the manga too, which I rarely do. Really glad I decided to look past the mediocre description and watch the first episode. |
