 It was announced on Saturday at Comic-Con International: San Diego, that the brand new movie from the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, titled Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, will premiere in Japan in Spring 2016.The movie is set to take place six months after the story of the manga and will feature original characters from the franchise, such as Yugi and Seto Kaiba. According to Kazuki Takahashi, the original creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series, some of the characters and monsters will be redesigned. It was revealed during the panel that the movie will feature a new threat comprising a new villain with powerful cards. It was also referenced that Kaiba will be a centerpiece to the movie's plot. Other characters set to return include Jonouchi (Joey), Anzu (Téa), and Bakura from the original series. It was also mentioned that the new cards will be released for fans to actually purchase. The new movie will be celebrated as part of the manga's 20th anniversary. I'm more curious about the new cards... Well anyways, should be fun. It won't be awhile and going to hope it gets a speedy BD release in the future. Also hoping to see some cameos from other well known characters from the franchise too. |
New cards should be fun, I'm guessing theyll probably be some kind of variation on blues eyes and dark magician. I really hoped that it would be another cross over movie like the previous movie, but I really like the idea of seeing what happened after the story in the manga. (which hopefully they dont botch) I really want LK's and 4kids (or whatever theyre calling themselves nowadays) dubs |

Oh i like that the characters are from original Yu-gi-oh.Anything that is after duel monsters is just fake and bad i watched like 1-2 eps and i couldnt stand it. Might watch this for nostalgia even tho yu-gi-oh is very cringe if you watch it now.  |

Pretty easy to see why this is actually happening IMO. People are seeing the success of the last two Dragon Ball movies and now want to re-visit old franchises with some type of name value. |

Lot of us grew up with Yu-Gi-Oh!. I've dropped probably more than 500 bucks on cards alone as a kid. Wait and see. |

I want a new game as well and not F2P, I want a priced game for PS4/Vita. I will be seeing the movie in theaters just like with Pyramid of Light over a decade ago.  |

From what I heard and understand, it's only slight change for the character designs and probably nothing too different from the original. I wouldn't worry about it. For the monsters such as the Dark Magician and Blue Eyes White Dragon, it might be more noticeable. |

Nice to know it'll focus more on Kaiba. I mean the original Yu-Gi-Oh is one of the only shows to have an even amount of focus/development on the important characters throughout the series, not just the main duelist, but rivals ftw :>  |
By the title and context, it seems to be related to Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, since it has been uniting all the previous series with alternate dimensions. My bets is that it will focus on the dimension similar to the classic series  |
Let's hope it actually explains how the dimensions were split like they are in Arc-v. That would be pretty cool, and I'm looking forward to this movie a lot XD Can't wait to see more duels and new cards. |

that guy with blue hair when i first saw him i thought he was yusei but when i looked closely he looks like jesse maybe he could be the villian of this story since it is confirmed that kaiba and yugi are the main protoganist and is yami going to appear i hope they focus more on yugi since he rarely gets to do things by himself joey,anzu and bakura iare also appearing and the creator said that joey and anzu has changed a bit too. i hope mai is in this movie to and i really hope that she and joey are back together again but to be honest for me its kind of confused since gx takes place 10 years later and when kaiba and yugi appeared in gx we saw that yugi has changed alot but not kaiba but in the movie poster why does kaiba looks more muscular than he was in DM and GX series it says that the movie takes place six months later Kaibas duel disk looks like yuto and shuns duel disk and by the time of DM,GX and 5ds the duel disk werent that advanced than it was in zexal and arc v i wonder where he got that duel disk maybe they are going to add some arc v shits in this movie and explains how the dimensions got split and i really hope that all the series takes place in standard and are arc v characters going to appear. i am pretty sure arc v will end in 2017 Modified by saeryukgki, Jul 13, 2015 5:10 AM |
