| I think w/e we did to get running water is huge. Helps not only with being able to live but sanitation from washing ourselves, clothes, dishes and sending our poop down tubes so we don't have to worry about it. I don't think we could have such big societies without poop tubes. |

| Either some Stone Tool, because it marked the very first Invention of Humanity, which (together with the Discovery of Fire) lead our Ancestors to lead a different Life from the other Animals or the Invention of the Wheel, as it is still being used as of Today and will keep playing an Important Role in the Future. There's also the Saying when someone duplicates a basic Model that he or she would reinvent the Wheel or Gutenberg's Printing Press, since it made cheap Books possible and thus helped speed up the Development of Humanity a lot. Everything else like "Electricity", "Internet" and suchlike is only a Plus for more Convenience. edit: if the first wasn't invented, we'd probably still live similar to Apes like Orang-Utans and Chimpanzees. If the second wasn't invented, we would have Trouble to transport anything. There would be no Trains, Cars or Planes and nothing mechanical, either. If the third wasn't invented (that was actually spread, unlike the older Chinese Model), Books would still be pretty unaffordable for the common People, so they would've most-likely stayed poor and uneducated. Besides, many Improvements in Science probably wouldn't have been made without the easier Access to other written Material. |
