I'm not too worried since pirates always win, or not lose at least.

It's a legal site now though that pays to license shows.

That and FUNimation in the West, as well as Madman if you consider Australia.

I haven't seen any signs of the government taking down sites, but maybe that's because they haven't hit any sites I used.

I'm genuinely concerned, to be honest. AnimeUltima and MangaHere are my go-to sites and both are on this list:

+1

Pirating may be morally wrong but I sure as hell am not going to get price gouged by the publishers.

The torrent hunt has started already? Good thing I buy BDs and watch anime on local cable TV. The only time I don't is when I watch streams on animefave and that's only when I can't buy the BD or wait for TV and I wanna watch now.

I rarely buy DVDs, so it looks like I'll be watching those boxes of Le Chevalier D'Eon and xxxHolic that I bought two years ago and never played...again...and again...and again...

Considering that most BDs improve on the TV version's graphics of some anime and they add extra minutes of content, plus the creditless OPs, misc stuff like behind the scenes interviews, etc. I'd be inclined to say that the BD price tags are justified.

like seriously, anime now a days is 90% dedicated to otaku's (so not mush of a loss i think) unless you are a cheap otaku :P

I swear the same thing happened not too long ago...
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

im serious though, WHY DA FUK WOULD i support an industry that is "mostly" dedicated to otakus .... out of 100 anime, there is like 1~2 that i like and that doesn't reek of freaky echii stuff ....

Anime target otaku
90% otaku => jobless=> 90% animefan watch illegal stream => illegal site can make money

Meh. They do this at least once a year, but it hasn't removed anime from this world as of yet. At this point it seems as ancient as goverment officials stalking people for watching tv, which was hilariously insane. I mean people actually got hired for that?

If they gain money from such job. In fact it's even weirder that people find other people's occupation as a bad thing
