| Has your family ever liked an anime series you showed them? My family's seen a number of animes that I've watched over the years, such as DBZ and Sailor Moon as a kid, but as far as actually liking an anime goes, my family (specifically my sister and my mother) LOVED Avatar the Airbender. And just today I had them watch Code Geass, and to my surprise they were intensely into it. Now they're upset at me for not having the second season on DVD |

| My mom says it's impossible for her to get into shows that are animated because she keeps thinking about how someone drew it. I don't really get it, maybe she's just trying to get out of it without seeming mean? And dad's into elitist books, so anime and manga are inferior, and thus out. |

I dunno, for example one of his favorite writers is James Joyce and his favorite book to my knowledge is Crime and Punishment. When I was in grade school he'd often say how the books I liked weren't really well written, talking about Harry Potter. We'd get into arguments about that, still do, about the quality of the writing and the story it tells, and different writing styles for different audiences, and we're both pretty adamant in our views. I love reading too, so I don't really mind, but I suppose he's not different from anime elitists really, ha. |
